Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King

#438 - Chapter 438: Continuous Testing

"Not safe enough..." Voldemort repeated slowly, his voice low but clear, sending a shiver down the spine like a snake's tongue flicking past the ear. His scarlet eyes were locked onto Snape's black ones, his gaze so sharp it seemed to pierce the soul.

Those around him lowered their heads, some even turning their faces away, avoiding the chilling gaze, as if afraid of being burned by it. However, Snape remained still, meeting Voldemort's gaze expressionlessly, his black eyes revealing undisguised sincerity.

After a brief and suffocating silence, the corners of Voldemort's mouth slowly curved into a strange arc, revealing an inscrutable smile.

"Severus, sit down and talk," he pointed to the empty seat on his right, "This is a seat I specially reserved for you, welcome back to the ranks of the Death Eaters."

Under the gazes of the crowd, some envious, some jealous, and some mocking, Snape bowed slightly and then gently sat down on Voldemort's right hand.

"Severus, you just said that Sebastian has never let his guard down against you, what about Dumbledore? What is his attitude towards you?"

"My Lord, I contacted him and agreed to become his undercover agent in order to fight Dumbledore. I told you about this, and you should remember it. After you disappeared, he recruited me into Hogwarts as a professor. I have been conscientious all these years, so he still trusts me very much."

Snape smiled slightly: "My Lord, now that you have been resurrected, I would like to ask for your opinion on the question of where I should go in the future."

"Should I stay directly by your side, My Lord, and concoct potions for you? Or should I continue to stay at Hogwarts and take advantage of Dumbledore's trust to wait for an opportunity to act?"

"What is your wish, Severus?" Voldemort looked at Snape with a gentle expression, as if letting him make his own decision.

"My Lord," Snape lowered his head slightly, "Your will is my wish."

"Very good," Voldemort nodded, seemingly very satisfied with Snape's attitude, "You should continue to stay at Hogwarts and keep an eye on Dumbledore, and that Sebastian. As for potions, use Hogwarts' property to brew them for me. I hope Dumbledore won't feel bad."

"Hahaha-" Hearing this, the Death Eaters around him burst into laughter, obviously very fond of this idea.

"Severus," Voldemort said with a smile, "Is there anything else new to share with us?"

"My Lord," Snape continued, "Dumbledore and Fudge have fallen out. Fudge is unwilling to admit your resurrection, so Dumbledore restarted the Order of the Phoenix yesterday and held a meeting."

Hearing this, Voldemort became interested. He looked at Snape, signaling him to continue.

"At the meeting, Dumbledore demanded that the security around Harry Potter be strengthened. He asked the members of the Order of the Phoenix to take turns on duty to prevent any accidents from happening to the savior."

Heh, Voldemort sneered in his heart.

Dumbledore still doesn't understand himself enough. Now the savior doesn't have such a big attraction. The only thing he cares about now is his own strength.

Before, Dumbledore alone was enough to worry about, and now there is Sebastian.

Thinking of Sebastian's dragon form, a haze began to rise on Voldemort's face.

"Don't worry about the savior for now, he is not a concern," Voldemort's voice turned cold, "Severus, I need you to help me confirm whether Sebastian has entered the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets and obtained the magic notes left by Slytherin?"

Sebastian's entry into the Slytherin Chamber of Secrets was not a secret. After all, it was once reported in the news, so after returning to Malfoy Manor, Voldemort asked about it clearly.

He wanted to take this opportunity to take another look at Snape's attitude and give him the final test tonight.

Snape did not hesitate at all: "That's right, Sebastian was the one who discovered the Chamber of Secrets. The entrance is in the bathroom where Moaning Myrtle is. I went deep underground with him and found Slytherin's magic notes in a hidden room."

Sure enough, it was exactly as he had guessed.

Sebastian must have completed the Animagus transformation into a dragon form based on the content of Slytherin's notes.

That dragon form is very powerful. He must find out the secrets of it. If he can also transform into a dragon, then Sebastian is not his opponent at all. Maybe he can go further and gain the power to confront Dumbledore head-on.

"Severus," Voldemort said softly, "I need you to help me figure out the secret of Sebastian's transformation into a dragon."

"This..." Snape looked embarrassed, "Master, from my understanding of Sebastian, he never leaves paper documents of such key information, but keeps it all in his head."

"And he is extremely wary of me. He was unwilling to tell me who opened the Chamber of Secrets. He only vaguely told me that the Chamber of Secrets was opened by a student bewitched by a dark magic item, so he would never share the secret of transforming into a dragon with me."

"To be honest, before this, I never knew that he had completed the Animagus transformation into a dragon form."

"Don't worry," Voldemort comforted lightly, "You don't need to get the complete secret, you only need to extract some of his ideas during the chat, I only need a reference, after all, if Sebastian can solve the problems in the notes, I certainly can too."

His gaze swept across the Death Eaters on the long table, and finally landed on Avery.

"Avery, how is your recruitment of subordinates in Knockturn Alley going?"

"Master..." Avery's face was bitter, and he stuttered back, "My side... is not going well."

"Interesting," the corners of Voldemort's mouth curled into a dangerous arc, "Those scum in Knockturn Alley dare to refuse my summons."

"Avery, you can't even handle this little thing, you really disappoint me."

"No, Master, listen to me," Avery was so scared that he was about to pee, fearing that Voldemort would start torturing him, "It's not that the scum in Knockturn Alley are disobedient. But..."

"But those scum are no longer staying in Knockturn Alley," he glanced at Voldemort cautiously, "There are not many people in Knockturn Alley, and it is about to close down..."
