Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#413 - Chapter 413 Past Memories
The waiting was so long that, standing in front of Sebastian's office door, Harry couldn't calm down at all. He paced back and forth like an ant on a hot pot.
In the second memory, there were three people present: his mother, Professor Snape, and Professor Swann, who was standing against the wall.
He couldn't get this memory from the first two people, so his only chance lay with Professor Swann.
It would be difficult to succeed by asking directly. After all, Professor Swann was very reluctant to let him see the conflicts of their generation. Every time he mentioned it, he would say that it was a conflict of the older generation and had nothing to do with him, telling him not to care.
Therefore, he had to think carefully about what to say later to get Professor Swann to take out that memory for him to watch.
While Harry was organizing his words, the door behind him was opened from the inside.
"Come in, Harry," Sebastian greeted warmly. "You look a little bad. Are you having trouble with something? Or is the deadline for Occlumency putting too much pressure on you? Have you had breakfast?"
"I've eaten," Harry lied slightly. He really didn't want to admit that he hadn't had breakfast. He had too many worries, which weighed him down so much that he had no appetite at all.
Moreover, based on his understanding of Sebastian, if he said he hadn't had breakfast, then milk and bread would inevitably be indispensable, and he would have to finish them all with no room for discussion, which he couldn't wait for.
"Professor Swann, I have mastered Occlumency. I would like to ask you to check it."
"Really? You mastered it in just one day yesterday? Then I have to take a good look." Sebastian hooked the corner of his mouth and pointed his wand at Harry.
"Get ready. Did you really have breakfast just now? 3 — 2 — 1, Legilimens!"
Scenes flashed by. Sebastian saw Harry go to the Great Hall, drink a full glass of milk, and then eat two croissants with a fried egg.
Not bad, this young man! Sebastian nodded.
Harry had clearly lied to him just now. After all, that emotional fluctuation couldn't be faked. But under his Legilimency, there wasn't a single flaw.
In other words, if he hadn't learned Ravenclaw's emotion magic, Harry would have really been able to fool him.
Sebastian's attitude became much more serious. He thoroughly checked Harry's memory maze, constantly using verbal stimulation and leading questions, but he couldn't find anything wrong.
"Not bad. Your Occlumency is qualified. I agree to let you join the plan to deal with the Dark Lord."
"Professor," Harry didn't show a happy expression, but instead looked anxious and said, "You said before that whoever succeeds first between me and Malfoy, you will grant the winner a request. I want to redeem it now."
"Speak," Sebastian smiled slightly. "I will try my best to satisfy it."
Harry bit his lip and stared into Sebastian's eyes pleadingly: "I want to see a memory related to my mother, the one where she rejected Professor Snape in front of the Gryffindor common room."
Hearing Harry's request, Sebastian was slightly stunned.
Good heavens, so that's what you're waiting for! No wonder the young man looks so worried. He didn't even show any excitement when he heard about dealing with the Dark Lord.
But where did you get this information from, kid? And you're describing it so vividly, as if you've seen it with your own eyes.
At that time, only myself, Severus, and Lily were present. Even Mia wasn't there.
It couldn't be that Severus himself let it slip, right?
Sebastian sat up straight: "I need to know the reason. After all, the protagonist in this memory, besides your mother, is also Severus."
This......
Harry lowered his head. He didn't know how to start.
After hesitating for a long time, he finally spoke with difficulty and told the story of seeing Snape's memory yesterday in detail.
"Professor..." Harry's voice carried a hint of crying. "I don't want to believe that my father was such a person. I really can't understand how my father and mother got together, even though my mother hated him so much at the time."
"Now the only clue is that memory. I want to know why my mother and Professor Snape separated, and why my mother's attitude was so resolute."
"I'm so confused that I'm going crazy. Please, Professor, tell me about it, or I won't know how to face Professor Snape in the future."
Looking at Harry's pained appearance, Sebastian sighed deeply.
"Alas... the situation is really complicated. I actually don't want to say much about these things, but since it has become a knot in your heart, then let me show you from my perspective."
Saying that, he took out a Pensieve from his Undetectable Extension Charm bag, then used his wand to touch his temple and extracted several silvery-white memories from it.
"Harry, this is the Pensieve, an alchemical tool that can be used to store and view memories. Reach out and gently touch the liquid in the basin."
In a trance, Harry once again arrived in front of the Gryffindor common room and saw a haggard Snape, as well as his mother saying those hurtful words with a resolute face.
"Why, Lily?" Snape wanted to grab Lily's hand, but she easily dodged it. "You know, I never discriminate against Muggles, and I don't approve of that pure-blood supremacy ideology. I've cut off contact with Avery and those people at school."
"Joining the Death Eaters was not my intention. I was just unlucky enough to encounter the Dark Lord and was forced to join his ranks."
Death Eater!!!
This word hit Harry's mind like a heavy hammer, making him dizzy.
How could it be? Professor Snape is actually a Death Eater?!
Then why did he approach me and treat me so well? Was it to lower my guard so that he could later capture me and hand me over to Voldemort?
As soon as this thought appeared, Harry raised his right hand and slapped himself hard.
Worse than a beast!
Professor Snape's care for him was genuine and could not be faked, and the reason why he was so good to him was now very clear: it was all for his mother.
Moreover, Professor Swann and Aunt Mia had both vouched for Professor Snape. He should not have such thoughts under any circumstances.
"Lily, you should understand me. If I didn't agree to the Dark Lord, then I would never see you again. I'm just pretending and won't seriously do things for him."
"Severus," Lily smiled sadly. "I'm really happy that you survived, but there is indeed no future between us."
Snape looked desperate and asked with difficulty, "Reason? I want to know why?"
