Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King
#208 - Chapter 208 Elective Course Recommendations
Despite the little wizards' reluctance, the final exams proceeded as scheduled.
For most subjects, the exams were divided into two parts: theoretical and practical.
In this year's exams, many professors set the compulsory questions as part of the practical exam.
As the exams progressed, the students gradually realized that this year's final exams were much easier than in previous years.
On the afternoon after the exams, the sky over Hogwarts was a clear blue.
A gentle breeze swept across the Black Lake, its surface shimmering, reflecting the majestic outline of the castle and the surrounding mountains.
Except for the fifth and seventh year students, the school was filled with happy, smiling students.
"This year's exam was so easy! I didn't expect that having compulsory questions would greatly reduce the difficulty of the exam."
"It's all thanks to the professors' consideration in setting the compulsory questions as practical exam content. We practiced them regularly, so we only needed to review the knowledge in the textbooks before the exam."
"And the improvements to the assignments for each subject! Before, they were all essays, but this year there were quite a few papers, all focusing on key knowledge from the textbooks. Reviewing them according to the papers saved a lot of effort."
"Yeah, I think that apart from History of Magic, all the other exams will at least be an E (Exceeds Expectations). Getting an O (Outstanding) in these courses with practical exams shouldn't be a problem."
"It looks like we can have a more relaxing summer vacation this year."
"Don't talk about so far ahead, we can relax now! Let's go play Quidditch, anyone want to join?"
"Don't get too carried away, the fifth and seventh year students still have two weeks of exams. Be careful not to disturb them, or the professors will scold you."
Like most students, Harry and his friends were relaxing in their own unique way.
They changed out of their usual school robes and into casual clothes, chatting leisurely by the Black Lake.
Harry lay back on the grass, his arms behind his head, his gaze fixed on the clear sky. He took a deep breath, feeling the fresh air on his face.
He could hear the distant chirping of birds and the gentle lapping of the lake water against the shore.
At this moment, he seemed to have completely shaken off the pressure of the exams, leaving only relaxation and contentment.
"Ah, it's finally over..." Ron stretched his body, his hands propped behind him, his face full of relief.
He stretched out his legs, his gaze leisurely sweeping across the lake, a hint of liberation in his smile: "That's great!"
Hermione sat next to them, smiling, holding a book borrowed from the library.
But this time, she didn't rush to open it, simply enjoying the peaceful afternoon.
"Actually, exams aren't that scary, are they?" she teased Ron, "It's just that you always put off studying until the last minute."
"Hey, I did my best!" Ron rolled his eyes, but then laughed.
"Seriously, I was so nervous when Professor Snape checked the potion I brewed."
"I didn't do very well in controlling the heat, and the swelling solution I brewed was much worse than what you two usually brew."
"I was worried that Professor Snape would give me a P (Poor), but I didn't expect him to give me an A (Acceptable). Thank you, Professor Snape!"
Ron stood up, picked up a small stone from the ground, and tossed it lightly. The stone skipped a few times on the surface of the lake, creating small ripples.
"Even I can pass the exam. I really want to see if anyone has to retake it. If there is, I will definitely laugh at them to death."
Hearing this, Hermione rolled her eyes speechlessly.
This Ron, he had already forgotten how he cried and wailed before the exam, and was starting to get carried away again.
"Ron, next year you have to study with me, you must not put it off until the last minute again."
"I know, I know, why talk about things so far away? I'll try hard next year."
Harry tilted his head slightly, watching Ron and Hermione interact, a smile on his lips. "After the start of school, we need to choose some electives. Which courses are you planning to choose?"
"If possible, I want to choose all the courses," Hermione said, looking at the lake, her eyes full of anticipation. "I think the electives are all very interesting, and I don't want to miss a single one."
"Merlin!" Ron exclaimed, "Choose them all? Do you know how many courses that is?"
"12, a full 12 courses! How much do you want to suffer?"
Harry added, "If you include the Auror Training Program and the St. Mungo's Training Program, that's 14 courses."
"Moreover, a new elective course will be added next year—Alchemy. It's not realistic to complete them all."
Hermione didn't say much to the two of them, but turned her head and asked, "Which courses are you planning to choose?"
"That goes without saying," Ron shouted, "The first one to choose is Muggle Studies. This course is both interesting and easy to pass."
"Fred and George strongly recommend it, and even Percy praises it non-stop."
"As for the second course, I might choose Divination. As for the reason, those who know, know."
"The other electives are a bit difficult, and I need to consider whether or not to choose them."
"Harry, what do you think?"
"Me..." Harry sat up, looking at the shimmering lake, his face tangled. "To be honest, I'm a little confused and don't know which course to choose."
"Harry," Hermione said with concern, "Why don't you ask Professor Swann? He can definitely give you very pertinent advice."
"I asked," Harry smiled, "I'll relay the professor's words to give you a reference."
"Professor Swann said that Divination is a course that tests magical talent very much. If you don't have the 'Inner Eye', you won't learn anything from this course."
"However, the exam for this course is relatively simple. As long as you fabricate that everything you see is misfortune, you can get a high score."
"If you really want to learn divination-related knowledge, Arithmancy will be very interesting."
So that's how it is.
Hermione nodded, lost in thought.
If Professor Swann says that you won't learn anything from taking Divination, then I can just learn Arithmancy.
"As for Alchemy," Harry paused, "Professor Swann said that the prerequisite for choosing this course is to also choose Ancient Runes."
"If you have the energy, it's best to also choose Care of Magical Creatures."
"That would be three electives, and there would be no energy to choose other courses."
Harry spoke eloquently, sharing the advice he had received from Sebastian without reservation.
After listening to Harry's words, Hermione strengthened her resolve. She would give up Divination and choose all the other electives.
Ron's heart was unmoved. He still wanted to choose Muggle Studies and Divination. These easy electives were just too suitable for him.
The three of them were thinking about different things, and for a moment it was extremely quiet.
Harry took a deep breath and lay back on the lawn again.
Forget it, I don't want to think about it, let's just enjoy this wonderful time.
As for the elective courses, I'll discuss them with Aunt Mia and the others during the holidays.
