Chapter 6 On The Correct Posture For Reading

The black wand gave Zheng Fan the impression that it was heavy, powerful, and profound.

This white wand, on the other hand, was the exact opposite.

It was cold, sharp, and agile, like a gust of wind with sharp ice blades. Just by looking at this wand, one could feel its strong sense of invasiveness!

"Linden wood, and the heart of a dragon. By the way, this wand and the one in your hand are twin wands. They were made from the same material as a dragon. It was a terrifying creature, an ancient species that no one knew of. It was not killed, but rather died from the backlash of using some unknown magic. Most of the materials were taken away by the Ministry of Magic, and the remaining materials were used to make these two wands." Olivander explained dutifully.

Zheng Fan did not say anything. He reached out and picked up the wand.

Olivander opened his mouth and was about to say something, but then he froze.

Under everyone's gaze, the white wand in Zheng Fan's left hand surged with a silver whirlwind. The whirlwind circled around his left arm like a shield, creating a shrill sound as it tore through the air.

The black wand in his right hand also surged with a black mist, slowly spreading out and enveloping Zheng Fan's right arm.

"Two wands at the same time recognizing a wizard?

How is this possible? This has never happened before in history! "Olivander exclaimed in shock.

Zheng Fan shrugged and casually placed the two wands in his left and right pockets. "After what happened today, Mr. Ollivander, I'm very satisfied with these two wands. I'll take them both. Give me a price."

Olivander's mouth was wide open, and he looked at Zheng Fan as if he had seen a ghost. After a long time, he finally said in a somewhat dull voice, "... After seeing such a miraculous thing, I don't intend to make any profit from the crafting. Cost price, 30 Garen."

Zheng Fan's expression was one of pain.

From Dumbledore, he had only received a total of thirty-five Garen's. Entering Hogwarts didn't just require a wand, he also needed a robe and textbooks, especially the textbooks, which were extremely expensive.

Originally, he wanted to ask this old man if he could pay in installments, using leeches or promissory notes, but after thinking about it, he realized that it was impossible.

Furthermore, there was a little loli looking at him from behind. His head could be broken, but his hairstyle could not be messed up. This was what it meant to be a man.

Thinking of this, Zheng Fan took out 30 gold coins and gave them to Ollivander.

Walking out of the magic wand shop, Zheng Fan looked at the remaining five gold coins in his pocket with a despondent look on his face.

Hermione and his family followed him out. The couple smiled at Zheng Fan. They saw how embarrassed Zheng Fan was. Mr. Granger even kindly asked if he needed to lend him some money, but Zheng Fan declined.

As a transmigrator with dreams and ambitions, if he was reduced to borrowing money, it would be too shameful for transmigrators.

He had completely forgotten about borrowing money from Dumbledore.

Since Hermione's first stop was also to buy a magic wand, the two of them had more or less the same thing to do afterward, which was to purchase the remaining necessities for school. Therefore, Hermione's family decided to go with Zheng Fan. Under Hermione's strong request, their second destination was Lihen Bookstore.

It happened to be the last place Zheng Fan wanted to go.

Since there was still a long time before school started, there weren't many students who came to purchase books early. There weren't many people in Lihen Bookstore. When Hermione came in, his eyes couldn't leave the rows of books on the shelves. He rushed over without hesitation.

Zheng Fan chuckled as he followed behind. He also came to the front of the bookshelf.

The book covers on the bookshelves were all about the same color. In this era, there were not so many gaudy covers. Most of the books were pure color. If one did not look at the gilded words on the spine, one would not be able to tell which book was which. However, for Zheng Fan, this was not a difficult task. After activating his Eagle Eye Vision for a second, he found the few books he needed.

First was "Standard Incantations, Beginner", the first book on the Hogwarts admission list.

The book was quite thick. It looked like it could be used as a brick.

This was Zheng Fan's first reaction.

The asking price was seven gold coins. He could not afford it at all.

This was Zheng Fan's second reaction.

Right now, he really wanted to go back in time and find Dumbledore who had given him the money. The moment the old man said, "35 gold coins, I'll cover your expenses", Garen threw a curse at his face.

Not to mention the fact that he had spent so much money to buy two wands, even if he had only bought one wand, the remaining money would not be enough to purchase all the goods!

Mr. Granger noticed Zheng Fan's expression, so he slowly leaned over and whispered into Zheng Fan's ear, "Hey, young man, let me lend you some money. I'm so familiar with your expression. You always look like this when I go out for a drink and don't have any money with me."

"What? You went out for a drink?" Mrs. Granger was instantly displeased.

Zheng Fan smiled as he looked at the couple. He knew that they were trying to ease his awkwardness so that he would not be embarrassed to lend them money. However, this time, he really did not want to lend them money.

Not enough money?

Books too expensive?

Are these even problems?!

No way!

Zheng Fan kept a straight face and walked to the bookshelf step by step. He reached for the "Standard Incantations, Beginner" book and flipped it open. Then, he started flipping through the pages rapidly.

"Err … What are you doing?" Mr. Granger was confused.

Hermione, who was beside them, was also attracted by the commotion. He turned his head and saw Zheng Fan standing in front of the bookshelf. She was like a page-turning machine, constantly flipping through the book in her hand. She paused for about half a second for each page before flipping to the next page.

Hermione had a strange expression on her face. What kind of reading method was this?

Was Zheng Fan practicing his book flipping speed?

Who would practice such a thing?

The bookstore manager also frowned and walked over.

Seeing Zheng Fan's actions, he was very displeased. Books were sacred and brought people knowledge. How could they become toys in this kid's hands?

He must be a poor kid from the countryside who did not even know how to read. How could he pretend to know how to read? How stupid!

Zheng Fan, on the other hand, had no intention of stopping. After flipping through the first book, he let out a long sigh of relief. Then, he picked up another book called "Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration" and started flipping through it.

When he picked up the third book, the manager finally could not take it anymore and strode over.

"Hey, kid, stop!

Do you want to turn the book into waste paper?

If you think that just because you know how to flip books, you are a learned person, you are gravely mistaken!

You should learn how to read books first before you come here and pretend! "

"Huh?" Zheng Fan frowned and looked at the person who interrupted him.

Then, he turned to look at Hermione. "Who is this guy?"
