Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs
Chapter 52: Killing the Demon
After a long period of explaining and calming down, Ginny finally accepted what had happened.
At this time, Malfoy and Neville finally calmed down. They understood that they had really done it and that it was not some crazy illusion.
"So, now we have Gryffindor's sword in our hands..."
Shocked and confused, followed by inextricable fatigue, Ginny looked at Neville and Malfoy, and finally remembered an important question.
"What are you going to do with it?"
Neville was stunned for a moment: "This..."
He turned and looked at Malfoy: "What are you doing with it?"
Malfoy shook his head: "Gryffindor's sword can destroy many indestructible things..."
Ginny smiled bitterly: "So you are still hiding something indestructible and have been hiding it from us until now?"
Malfoy sighed: "I didn't..."
Ginny sighed: "You still dare to say that you don't have anything like that?"
Malfoy nodded: "That thing was stolen a long time ago."
Ginny was stunned for a moment, then nodded helplessly: "Inside Hogwarts? How careless are you..."
Malfoy shook his head: "I originally put it under my bed. If someone could sneak into the Slytherin common room, then he would be an opponent I could never defeat."
Ginny snorted coldly: "You talk as if you Slytherins are great."
"So you took such a risk and stole Gryffindor's sword, but the thing that needed to be destroyed didn't exist at all?"
Malfoy fell silent in embarrassment.
Ginny nodded: "Is there anyone you suspect?"
Malfoy shook his head.
But in fact, a figure flashed in his mind.
Snape.
But before in the principal's office, Malfoy saw no trace of the rune snake.
In his opinion, if Snape stole the Rune Snake, the Headmaster's Office at Hogwarts would definitely be the most suitable place to hide it: it would be absolutely safe.
Still, suspicion lingered in Malfoy's mind.
Ginny leaned back in her chair and looked up at the ceiling.
"We still have a chance."
"You have eliminated those Slytherins who have defected to the Death Eaters... Then the only ones left are these Slytherins..."
Ginny's eyes scanned the hall.
There were quite a few Slytherins here, almost all of them: only eight less.
Malfoy shook his head: "None of them."
Ginny nodded: "Have you confirmed it before?"
"You're not that stupid."
Malfoy shook his head helplessly: "In short, this matter is my business, you don't need to interfere."
"What really matters now is, do we go hide somewhere else?"
Ginny shook her head.
"no need."
Malfoy fell silent helplessly.
…
Although they did not change their hiding place in the end, everyone was on tenterhooks for the next few days.
Everyone who knew what Gryffindor's sword was was worried, and this state lasted for several days.
Until one day someone actually broke into the hideout.
It was a peaceful afternoon.
Lunch had just ended, and Malfoy and Navigation and Luna had no classes in the afternoon. They gathered in the corner at the end of the hall, sitting by the window and carefully looking at the newly snowed Quidditch pitch outside.
At this moment, a secret door on the side of the hall was suddenly opened.
Three people walked in.
That's Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
Malfoy's mind went blank.
Then there is chaos.
Almost everyone here knew Harry, and they didn't understand why the three Harrys suddenly appeared.
Ginny rushed to Ron's side. She had been listening to Mrs. Weasley's worried complaints, while Malfoy stood not far away and watched Hermione's complicated silence.
Finally, after everyone had calmed down, Harry walked over to the table and sat down.
"So you have now organized a secret base to resist the Death Eaters?"
Ron looked at Ginny and smiled: "Do you still have a Quidditch game?"
Ginny shook her head helplessly: "All canceled."
Malfoy hesitated, looked at Harry and said, "You shouldn't be here, it's too dangerous."
Harry shook his head: "It's not that dangerous inside Hogwarts. We haven't graduated yet."
"We have to come here, Gryffindor's sword is in the Headmaster's office."
Malfoy, Ginny and Neville were all stunned for a moment.
Hermione noticed the unusual expressions on the three people's faces: "Did something happen?"
Ginny sighed: "Do you know something?"
Harry shook his head blankly: "We don't know..."
They were just traveling through the Muggle world. Although it took a lot of time to get here, there were no twists and turns. They were isolated from the wizarding world for several days.
Ginny nodded to Neville: "Take it out."
Neville stood up and walked to the cabinet in the corner of the room and took out the long sword inside.
When Neville turned around, Harry looked at the sword in his hand and shouted: "Gryffindor's sword!"
"How can it be!"
Ginny nodded: "I think this is ridiculous too..."
She glanced at Harry: "Even Harry Potter thinks so, right?"
"Feel much better."
Hermione shook her head: "This is not a joke!"
"only……"
Ginny nodded: "Only the bravest Gryffindor can get the sword, I know."
Everyone was silent.
Neville touched his head, smiled awkwardly and put the sword on the table: "What are you going to do with it, Harry?"
Harry was stunned for a moment, then turned to look at Hermione: "Pendant."
Hermione nodded, raised her wand and pointed it at the small bag beside her: "The pendant is flying."
Then a locket fell into Hermione's hands.
With fear on her face, she carefully placed the locket on the table.
"Do you want it now, Harry?"
Harry nodded and stood up.
He picked up the sword from the table and held it in both hands.
"I hope it's useful..."
Then Harry slashed with all his strength with his sword.
At that moment, terrifying black smoke rose into the sky.
It was as if some dark power appeared out of thin air, and everyone here felt the dangerous atmosphere.
But Harry completely ignored the black smoke, the blade of the long sword fell, and the locket split into two halves.
The black smoke dissipated, and a sound that sounded like a wail or wind echoed in the room. It took a long time before it finally dissipated.
Harry put down his sword and let out a sigh of relief.
"Did you make it?"
Hermione raised her wand, pointed it at the locket that had been split into two halves, shook it, and then nodded: "Succeeded..."
