Gourmet master of the Pokemon world

#72 - Champion's Experience on Nibel Plateau

After dinner, Anjie had Diancie arrange a room for Steven Stone and said to him, "Just stay here tonight and we'll figure things out after the rain stops!"

Steven Stone: "Thank you very much." Then he took Lairon back to his room.

Anjie, on the other hand, remained as steady as usual, first relaxing and having fun with the Pokémon for a while, then training, and finally returning to their rooms to sleep.

The next day, when the bright sun shone into the room, Steven Stone opened his eyes.

Outside, Fletchinder, Spritzee, and Swablu stood side by side on the balcony, curiously peeking at the sleeping Steven Stone.

When they saw Steven Stone get up, they chirped and flew away, disappearing into the blue sky in the blink of an eye.

"Lairon~~"

Steven Stone's awakening startled Lairon, who had already woken up but was resting with his eyes closed.

He greeted Lairon with a smile, "Good morning, Lairon!"

"Lairon~ Lairon~"

Lairon also squinted his eyes and greeted him.

Steven Stone lifted the quilt and got out of bed, quickly walking to the balcony. The rain that had fallen all night had stopped, the sky was as blue as the sea, and the sun was shining brightly, warming his body. The air was also exceptionally fresh.

"What a magical place," Steven Stone whispered after taking a deep breath.

It was clearly the dead of winter outside.

After washing up, Steven Stone took Lairon downstairs. As he walked down the stairs, he could hear the cheerful laughter of the Pokémon from afar.

At this moment, Diancie appeared at the stairwell. When it saw Steven Stone and Lairon, it greeted them with a polite smile, "Good morning, Mr. Steven Stone, Lairon!"

Although this Mr. Steven Stone always looked at it strangely, it was a royal lady who had received a good royal education and would never do anything impolite.

Steven Stone also smiled and greeted Diancie, "Good morning, Diancie."

Diancie invited Steven Stone, "Mr. Steven Stone, please come and have breakfast."

Steven Stone nodded and quickly went downstairs with Lairon.

When he saw the Pokémon sitting around the table in the hall, he and Lairon were both stunned.

The Pokémon were originally eating breakfast and chatting happily, but when they saw Steven Stone, a stranger, they seemed to be paused, and the whole place suddenly became quiet for a moment.

Seeing this, Diancie came over to comfort everyone, "This is our guest, you don't need to be afraid."

Hearing this, everyone continued to eat breakfast, but they no longer talked and laughed as before, and occasionally glanced at Steven Stone out of the corner of their eyes.

Steven Stone also noticed that the atmosphere was not right, so he whispered to Diancie, "Diancie, these Pokémon are…"

Diancie explained, "They are all Pokémon living on the Nibel Plateau. They usually help us with work, so they eat here."

"I see," Steven Stone realized.

"Mr. Steven Stone and Lairon, please come and have breakfast too." Diancie said, inviting Steven Stone to sit at an empty table, and then brought him and Lairon steaming buns, steamed bread, and porridge.

The moment Lairon ate the milky steamed bread, he immediately felt the uniqueness of the food and ate even more happily.

Steven Stone asked Diancie while eating, "Where is Mr. Anjie? Why haven't I seen him?"

Diancie smiled and replied, "It's true that the royal family can provide a carefree life, but living is not just about staying alive. Anjie has other things he wants to do, so of course he has to work hard to make money."

Steven Stone nodded thoughtfully, "That makes sense. It seems you know Mr. Anjie very well."

Diancie was slightly proud, "After all, we have lived together since we were young."

Steven Stone nodded. He understood this tacit understanding. He and Aggron and Metagross were the same.

After breakfast, Steven Stone asked Diancie, "Can I walk around?"

Diancie nodded, "Of course, Mr. Steven Stone, please feel free."

"Thank you."

After thanking Diancie, Steven Stone walked out of Diancie Cafeteria with Lairon.

Walking out of the wall, Steven Stone saw the Nibel Plateau clearly for the first time. On the empty grassland, Pokémon were chasing and playing carefree, while Skiddo lowered their heads and leisurely grazed.

The distant mountains were clearly visible, which was the direction he came from. He got lost in the mountains because he was digging for rocks.

Seeing the lake not far away, Steven Stone walked over with Lairon.

Azurill and Marill were playing in the water on the shore. When they saw Steven Stone coming, they quickly jumped into the water and disappeared.

It seems that the Pokémon on the Nibel Plateau are all afraid of strangers! Steven Stone concluded.

On the lotus leaves by the lake, Poliwag and Poliwhirl were staring at the fish fry in the water. Suddenly, they heard someone greeting them.

"Good morning, Poliwag, Poliwhirl."

They turned their heads and saw that it was the person they had seen at Anjie's house in the morning. He was walking towards the river with Lairon, passing through the newly sprouted saplings.

Poliwag and Poliwhirl stiffly waved to Steven Stone as a greeting, and then jumped into the water and disappeared.

They are now employees of Anjie's house, representing the face of Anjie's house, and cannot be rude to guests.

Poliwag and Poliwhirl's expression of avoiding him but trying to restrain themselves made Steven Stone laugh and cry. Then he carefully looked at everything around him.

Vibrant fruit trees, fish fry faintly visible in the lake, hard-working Pokémon…

What a nice place.

He wondered if he would live such a leisurely life after he retired?

Then he smiled softly. Probably not. He should take Pokémon around to explore and dig for rocks.

Suddenly, Steven Stone heard a sound not far away. He walked over with Lairon and saw two Pokémon battling on the grass.

One was Aron, and the other was Drilbur.

Since moving into the employee dormitory, Aron and Drilbur decided to work hard for Anjie. But after the fruit trees were planted, they didn't know what else they could do to help Anjie.

They were not like Water-type Pokémon who could help Anjie look after the fishing grounds and raise fish; nor were they as agile as Gardevoir and Espurr, who could go to the restaurant as waiters; nor could they produce milk like Skiddo…

After thinking about it, they could only think of becoming stronger and then using force to protect Anjie and the Nibel Plateau, just like Lord Volcanion.

So after breakfast, Aron and Drilbur came to the grass to train.

Suddenly, a voice sounded, "Aron, that's not how you use Metal Claw."

The two Pokémon paused in their battle.

The one who spoke was Steven Stone.

The two Pokémon looked very nervous when they saw Steven, and then they heard Steven say, "Lairon, show Aron how to use Metal Claw."

"Lairon ~ ~"

Lairon took a step forward, suddenly raised a front paw high, and a silver light lit up on its claw. Then, it swung forward forcefully. With a loud bang, a row of deep ravines appeared on the grass.

So powerful!

Aron and Drilbur looked at Lairon in shock, and then their faces showed admiration.

"Aron ~ Aron ~"

"Dril ~ Dril ~"

The two Pokémon surrounded Lairon, asking Lairon to teach them how to become stronger.

Steven said with a smile, "Lairon, why don't you teach them."

Lairon nodded shyly when he heard this.

Among the Trainer's Pokémon, it belonged to the bottom level of strength. It didn't expect to be admired one day.

Then the three Pokémon walked to the side, whispering together. Before long, the sound of Lairon guiding Aron and Drilbur in battle came. Aron and Drilbur's voices were full of seriousness and determination.

Steven watched them for a while, then found a patch of grass and sat down, quietly admiring the scenery of the plateau, enjoying a rare moment of tranquility.

At noon, Angelo returned from Azoth, just in time to see Steven leading Lairon, Aron, and Drilbur back from outside.

He casually asked, "What were you guys doing?"

Steven replied, "Just took a stroll, and then we encountered these two little guys battling, so we watched for a while."

Angelo looked at Aron and Drilbur in surprise and said, "You guys like battling?"

"Aron ~ Aron ~"

"Dril ~ Dril ~"

The two little guys nodded repeatedly, and kept gesticulating, roughly praising how powerful Lairon was. Lairon was embarrassed by their praise.

"I see..." Angelo pondered, an idea forming in his mind.

In the afternoon, Angelo finally started busying himself with making tables and benches. He even called Robert-1 to help.

Steven asked after seeing this, "Mr. Angelo, what are you doing?"

Angelo replied, "There are too many Pokémon coming to eat every day, and it feels crowded inside the house. I was thinking of making some tables and benches to put outside, so that everyone can eat outside directly when the weather is good."

"So that's how it is!" Steven understood, and then said enthusiastically, "Then... I'll help too!"

"Okay, then I'll have to trouble Mr. Steven." Angelo readily agreed. What's not to like about having an extra helper?

What Angelo didn't expect was that Steven was actually a handicraft expert. The tables and benches he made were very beautiful. If you didn't know better, you'd think this League Champion was also working as a carpenter!

Making tables and benches with tree stumps doesn't require making them too exquisite. Just simple processing is enough, keeping their original style.

But once these tree stumps were in Steven's hands, although they didn't change much, they looked much more refined.

Of course, the most efficient was Robert-1. It was a robot, so humans couldn't compare to it in terms of work efficiency.

However, the tables and benches it made were obviously not as good-looking as Steven's.

How should I put it... lacking aura?

Angelo didn't actually know what aura was, but comparing Steven's and Robert-1's works, he felt that he vaguely understood.

Compared to Steven and Robert-1, Angelo was like a useless person. Helpless, he had to take Munchlax, Diancie, and Sobble to brush tung oil on the finished tables and benches.

Brushing oil can prevent moisture and insects, preventing the wood from rotting. Tables and benches without oil will not last long.

Making tables and benches is a slow job. Angelo and the others only made about a dozen sets in the entire morning.

To thank Steven, Angelo prepared a table full of delicious food for dinner to repay him, another dinner where everyone was happy.

Early the next morning, Angelo got up not long before he discovered that Steven had also gotten up.

"Mr. Steven, why are you up so early today?"

Steven: "I plan to leave Nibel Plateau today, so I thought I'd get up early to say goodbye to you."

"So that's how it is!" Angelo realized. He didn't try to keep him, but just said, "Then I wish you a smooth journey. I still have to go to Azoth, so I probably won't be able to see you off."

Steven: "Mr. Angelo, you've already made me feel grateful for letting me stay for two days. You don't have to bother with seeing me off.

By the way..."

Suddenly, he took something out of his backpack and handed it to Angelo.

"Consider this item a thank-you gift for eating and drinking here for free."

Angelo took a closer look and saw that it was a green stone with leaf vein-like patterns in the middle. It was obviously a Leaf Stone.

Leaf Stone, a tool to assist Pokémon evolution. Weepinbell evolves into Victreebel, Eevee evolves into Leafeon, Gloom evolves into Vileplume, Exeggcute evolves into Exeggutor, Nuzleaf evolves into Shiftry, and Pansage evolves into Simisage all need to use it.

Bellsprout's dad's Leaf Stone for evolution was still something it found in the forest a long time ago by accident.

Angelo took the Leaf Stone and said, "Then I won't be polite. You're welcome to come to Nibel Plateau again to play, or go to Azoth."

Steven smiled and said, "Okay, I'll definitely come if I have the chance!"

Suddenly, Steven had a flash of inspiration and said, "By the way, let's exchange contact information!"

"Okay!" Angelo readily agreed.

Then the two took out their phones and exchanged contact information.

After Angelo went to Azoth, Steven had breakfast at the store before leaving. The thought of not being able to eat Angelo's delicious food in the future filled his heart with melancholy.

Lairon felt the same way.

The bath sand at Angelo's house is so comfortable!

As agreed, before parting, Diancie gave Steven the bath sand that Angelo had prepared in advance.

However, while Steven was eating breakfast, something surprising happened at the store. Linoone suddenly evolved while eating, evolving into Obstagoon.

Diancie's cafeteria can promote the level increase of Pokémon. Because they have been eating here for a considerable amount of time every day, and enough has accumulated, the phenomenon of Pokémon evolving seems to have become more frequent recently.

Compared to other Pokémon, it's no longer surprising.

But this was a new thing for Steven. It's not often that Pokémon evolve before your eyes.

To congratulate Linoone on evolving into Obstagoon, Steven gave it a gift, a silk scarf.

Steven tied the silk scarf around Obstagoon's neck. This is an item that can increase the power of Pokémon's Normal-type skills.
