50. Clotilde’s Evil/Fallen Ending Part One: The Fanatic Device

“Oh? It seems Her Highness the Princess has finally found the correct answer. Don’t you think it’s time for us to end this?”

Noah, seeing Valentina’s confident smile through the magic circle’s surveillance window, couldn’t help but be amused by her smug expression, thinking she could win against him.

So he kindly suggested that the other party also stop this boring farce.

After all, the other party had no chance of winning anymore.

At this moment, Noah was holding a suspicious device on a woman’s head with one hand, lifting her high. He shifted his gaze from the monitor back to the woman, who no longer had the strength to go mad, and spoke to her with a smile.

“…God… my… God…”

The scarlet eye screen at the center of the suspicious device was much more shattered than before.

Of course, the woman’s body was also in a worse state. The black tight-fitting uniform that highlighted her body was already damaged in many places, exposing large areas of skin and wounds.

But even so, this suspicious woman had not succeeded in communicating a single word with Noah from beginning to end.

Even now, having been beaten to a pulp by Noah, she seemed to be murmuring those frenzied words over and over.

“How devout you are! But using such a device for devotion will only leave the gods speechless, dear sister!”

Ignoring her words, Noah smiled as he slammed her body down onto the ground, and this time, he casually crushed that suspicious device in the process.

As the scarlet mechanical eye shattered completely, the face obscured by the strange device was once again revealed for Noah to observe.

It was a face that had completely lost its emotions, with hollow eyes yet incredibly beautiful, surprisingly pure and captivating compared to her bold attire.

“Indeed, it’s you, Miss Nun. I suppose there’s no one else so eager for the divine as you.”

Noah leaned down to look at that familiar yet strange face, showing little surprise.

Even though this face was identical to that of the nun who had to self-generate electricity in front of him due to the lewdness of the situation.

“You were nearby when Her Highness the Princess went to exterminate the serpent monster, right? I sensed other gazes at that time. I was too lazy to look for you, but it seems you came right to me. So, what’s this? Not going mad anymore? I actually liked your crazy side. Come on, don’t be such a downer, keep going mad!”

As Noah looked down at the nun from above, his provocations never ceased.

However, the nun, who had been so emotional just moments ago, had now completely turned into an emotionless puppet after the device on her head was destroyed.

Though her eyes were mostly filled with Noah’s figure, she was merely reflecting him, much like a mirror.

Noah certainly noticed this, and gradually, he retracted his frivolous smile, his expression becoming somewhat displeased.

“…What a disappointment, so this was a possibility? This isn’t the ending I was pursuing.”

Noah watched as the nun gradually disintegrated into particles, straightening his back and stepping back a few paces for a better view of it all.

For the next half minute, as the nun’s corpse vanished, Noah simply observed, his expression somewhat complex.

If his conjecture was correct, just like the snake lady Valentina who had appeared before him last time.

This brainwashed Clotilde, too, existed in this world due to some interference from him.

From her behavior, it was highly likely that, thanks to Noah’s earlier warning, she had avoided the trap of lewdness, but in doing so, she had failed to perceive the truth of the church, thus being brainwashed and transformed by the evil forces within the church using external powers.

Her spirit had long since collapsed; her essence was merely acting through a simulated personality within the device, just a simple fanatic pursuing the divine.

If Noah had lost, she would have likely intended to invade him and attempt to devour him.

As for why this situation arose, it might be because Noah, as a hidden boss in the game, was not supposed to take any action.

Yet he had actively interfered, creating some sort of bug in the situation.

This was something only a deity could accomplish.

The responsibility, of course, fell upon the gods.

“…I’m a bit sorry, Miss Nun. I didn’t expect that after warning her, it would only lead to such an ending. But this can’t all be blamed on me, right? Just because I told her to be wary of lewdness, she only took care to avoid that? Couldn’t she have been a bit more cautious and questioned the church from within?”

Noah, somewhat exasperated, covered his face, beginning to understand why the heroines in those little games so easily fell.

After Clotilde, the fanatic device, completely transformed into light and vanished, Noah’s resolve only strengthened.

He could accept the ending of the heroine succumbing to darkness, but this loss of self, with her corpse being used, was unacceptable.

Fortunately, this was merely ‘a possibility,’ an inherently unstable existence; even if Noah hadn’t intervened, it would have eventually disappeared on its own due to the bug.

But since it appeared before Noah, he felt it must be significant.

Could it be the malice of this world?

Is it trying to make Noah feel guilty enough to hasten his own demise?

“Hahaha, no, no, no, the goddess of this world shouldn’t be so filled with malice, right? Otherwise, I might just get angry! Alright, for now, let’s restore everything to its original state.”

After temporarily casting aside the worst assumptions, Noah looked around at the underground street, damaged by his battle with the fanatic device, Clotilde, and resolved to show a bit of divine power.

“Great! What a score! …Huh?”

Miss Rabbit was bouncing with joy at the prospect of engaging in intimate activities with the dark-haired young man before her, who exuded an air of mystery and danger.

But for some reason, when she noticed, he was looking up at the sky, as if searching for something.

“Sir? Is there something up there?”

Feeling puzzled, Miss Rabbit quickly raised her head, exposing the curve of her fair neck, gazing up at the ceiling of the underground street.

“No, it’s nothing. I just wanted to see you looking up at the sky.”

Noah withdrew his gaze and shrugged, smiling as he explained his actions.

In truth, he was contemplating whether restoring everything around him to its original state would also restore that fanatic device’s nun.

But it seemed he was overthinking it, proving that the nun in that pose was a bug in this world, an anomaly that shouldn’t be here.

“Really! Sir, you certainly have a special XP!”

Though she said this, the smile on Miss Rabbit’s face didn’t diminish; rather, she seemed quite excited, even her small rabbit tail began to twitch.

“Heh, I won’t deny that my XP is quite broad. So, I’ll come find you after your shift. If I can’t find you, don’t blame me for ‘servicing someone else.’”

A teasing smile appeared on Noah’s face as his gaze shifted to a certain direction within the shop.

He was rather indifferent; if Miss Rabbit was busy, then Noah would have to meet the establishment’s star attraction.

“Ah! No, no! I came first! Here! Sir, take this money! You must attend to me first!”

In her fluster, Miss Rabbit hurriedly pulled out some money from her bosom and half-forced it into Noah’s hands, fearing he might seek someone else.

She had come to spend money, yet ended up being the one pursued.

Noah couldn’t help but marvel at how open this world of little yellow butter was.

In any case, after discussing the timing with Miss Rabbit, Noah took the still-warm coins and headed toward the exit at the other end of the underground street.

Just like the street he had seen upon arrival, the underground street behind him remained vibrant as he left.

As if he had never been there, it was the same as always.

As for why Noah had time to not experience other establishments of custom—

Mainly, he truly had urgent matters to attend to.

Valentina had already begun investigating the weaknesses of the nobility, so Noah no longer had to worry about her maintaining her upright demeanor while waiting to be ensnared by Delia.

Thus, the place he prepared to intervene was not Valentina, but the blonde-haired Allen.

After all, that Mr. Allen, having embarrassed himself in front of Her Highness the Princess last time, was now intent on proving himself!

Shouldn’t Noah go and lend him a hand?
