Game of Thrones: I Created the Magic Web

#25 - The fifth day of the journey north

Chapter 25: The Fifth Day Northward

Joffrey was "sparring" with Jaime.

Although it looked more like a one-sided beatdown.

The Kingslayer seemed quite relaxed, even keeping his left hand behind his back.

"Left chest, right chest, head, neck…"

He announced his attack targets in advance, and Joffrey tried his best to block and dodge with his sword, but was still hit by nearly half of the attacks.

Obviously, if it were a real battle, this sparring match would have ended much sooner.

Joffrey was not discouraged.

Jaime was a famous knight of the Seven Kingdoms, and there was no shame in losing to him, let alone Joffrey, a complete novice.

Although it was embarrassing, this sacrifice was nothing in order to make up for his lack of close combat skills.

So, being hit by a wooden sword hurts this much.

"Let's take a break, I'm done fighting."

Joffrey dropped the wooden sword in his hand and sat directly on the ground, panting heavily.

Jaime twirled his wooden sword and put it back into his belt.

"I hope you remember that for a warrior, giving up your sword means surrender or even death."

Joffrey just thought he was showing off.

Jaime sat down next to Joffrey. These past few days, Joffrey had actually taken the initiative to ask him to practice swordsmanship, and his impression of Joffrey had improved more than ever before.

"A sword is not a simple toy. Do you know how to successfully end a person's life?"

Jaime imparted his experience.

"Thrust hard into the heart, or make a few more circles in the stomach. Chopping his head off is also an option, provided the opponent isn't wearing a helmet."

"Of course, if you capture someone, you can be merciful and give them a quick death, beheading them."

Jaime observed Joffrey's reaction with interest.

"Beheading is actually quite a science."

"The bones in a person's neck are very hard. Only by smoothly sliding through the gap in the middle of the bones, a place less than half a fingernail wide, can you cleanly take their head off."

"Otherwise, it would be too ugly, taking a long time to chop it off, as if it were being smashed off with a hammer. No one would like that kind of scene."

Joffrey listened carefully to Jaime's teachings, showing neither excitement nor fear.

He knew what Jaime was talking about.

The weakest part of the spine is the intervertebral disc connecting adjacent vertebrae, which is a soft tissue structure and naturally not as strong as bone.

He also knew.

There are 7 vertebrae in the cervical spine, but there is no intervertebral disc between the 1st and 2nd cervical vertebrae, so there are a total of 5 intervertebral discs in the cervical spine.

To behead someone, you must find these 5 lines.

He remembered the special sensation from last night. Was the bastard also beheaded?

He knew he could know the bastard's death immediately.

The mirror rune had a wide range of uses. It could not only sense the existence of other rune mirrors, but also control and sense the destruction of rune mirrors.

Once the host died, the rune mirror would naturally perish with it.

But beyond last night's sensation, he also received a surge of abundant energy.

It was familiar runic energy, more than three times the runic energy needed for the two rune mirrors he gave to the bastard.

Although the growth rate of runic energy in the rune mirror was the same as that of the rune body, even so, four days was not enough time to accumulate so much runic energy.

So, is runic energy really related to a person's soul?

Joffrey felt that he had discovered a bug: send rune mirrors to others, and then harvest them regularly.

The more runic energy spent, the more leeks would grow;

The more leeks there were, the more runic energy would be earned back;

The more earned, the less spent.

That is: the more runic energy spent, the less runic energy spent.

He "looked at" the 33 units of runic energy in his account, and the corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up in an arc.

In the previous few days, he had meditated on the unknown patterns on the dragon egg, and had successively obtained the growth rune and the contract rune.

As the name suggests, the growth rune could allow the host to break through the limits of normal physical growth and lifespan, which was probably why dragons could continue to grow and become larger.

The contract rune was not very sensitive. All he knew now was that it could allow two creatures to form a mysterious connection and sense each other.

Dragon rider and dragon?

He also knew the limit of runic energy growth—5 units per day.

Although he already had 6 runes, the growth rate of runic energy did not change with the appearance of the 6th rune.

5 units per day was naturally more than enough for him to use alone, but it was not enough to develop a force.

In the foreseeable future, he would need a lot of runic energy, the more the better.

Now it seemed that harvesting leeks might be a choice.

The Hound walked up to the two of them.

"Ser Jaime. Your Highness, the lion has completely recovered."

Joffrey stood up excitedly.

"Let's stop here for today, Uncle Jaime."

Sword practice could wait.

But he couldn't wait to tame such a beast.

In a cage that was even more solid and larger than the one in King's Landing, the giant lion stared at everyone who passed by with its sharp, golden eyes.

There was no doubt that as soon as the cage disappeared, it would immediately tear apart these noisy guys in front of it.

Joffrey stood in front of the cage.

The arrow wounds on the giant lion's body had disappeared without a trace, its fur was as smooth and shiny as ever, and its eyes were as bright as if it were surveying its territory.

Although he had seen it many times, Joffrey couldn't help but marvel at its size.

He suspected it weighed even more than a ton or two.

Even such a beast had such momentum, it was hard to imagine how shocking a hundreds-year-old dragon would be.

No wonder the Seven Kingdoms once submitted to the Targaryens.

He began to miss his dragon egg again.

Could dragon eggs really only be hatched by Valyrian blood? Was it some kind of magic, genetic technology, or because they had mastered the secret conditions for dragon breeding?

Roar~~

The giant lion let out a deep roar, and the air waves it stirred ruffled Joffrey's golden hair.

"You're not being good, are you? You're drooling."

He patted its head.

The giant lion shook its head violently, and its sharp teeth followed Joffrey's hand and crashed into the steel bars of the cage.

The dozens of iron chains tied to its body also rattled non-stop, and the entire cage was shaking.

The Hound stepped forward.

"Your Highness, this beast is too ferocious, it's better to be careful."

Joffrey directly drew Dragonflame and stretched the tip of the sword into the giant lion's wide-open mouth inside the cage.

"If you're really that powerful, take a bite!"

Dragonflame's inherent fire magic was enough for the giant lion to feel the heat of the sword, and its sharpness and sturdiness went without saying.

The giant lion turned its head away and didn't react any further.

"Sandor, come over and hold Dragonflame."

Joffrey walked to the other side of the cage and pressed down on the giant lion's hind leg.

Probably unwilling to be hurt by the sharp sword in its mouth, the giant lion lay there and ignored Joffrey.

Joffrey successfully integrated a fire rune mirror into the giant lion.

He looked forward to the next development.

The giant lion already had a fire rune. How would the two runes get along now?

He felt it.

The power of the fire rune mirror suddenly became several times stronger. Did they merge?

But he could still control this mirror.

He smiled smugly. Little lion, you can't run away now.

Be good.

Be obedient.

Let me get on.
