Fairy tale: Little Red Riding Hood's wolf mentor
#20 - Autopsy, Chamber of Secrets
"Poro, do you think he's finally dead?"
Lake pulled out her dagger and stabbed the bishop in a different spot, a spurt of blood escaping, but blocked by Lake's cloak, dripping onto the ground.
The bishop's body had stopped twitching now, completely still.
"Who knows? He's a bishop after all, might have some resurrection spell or something?"
Poro said, finally letting go.
After biting for almost twenty minutes, the bishop's blood had mostly stopped flowing over ten minutes ago, and Poro was even feeling a little thirsty.
The bishop had lost a lot of blood; in fact, anyone with a ruptured carotid artery would have their blood spraying out due to blood pressure.
So, Poro wasn't really trying to drink the blood.
He just wanted to prevent too much blood from staining the room, which would make it harder to clean up.
"Resurrection spell? What's that? Grandma never told me about it."
Lake asked curiously, wiping the silver dagger with a bedsheet, "Can dead people really be resurrected?"
"I'm not a wizard, how would I know?"
Poro took off the nun's habit that was still hanging on him.
Of course, it wasn't that he didn't like wearing clothes, but this kind of fairytale authority didn't really turn him into a human, so Poro felt uncomfortable when disguised.
"Poro, you look pretty cute as a girl. By the way, if you put on my cloak, can you turn into me?"
The bishop, who had controlled the entire town for years, was dead, and Lake seemed a bit relieved.
And neither the person nor the wolf who killed for the first time felt any psychological pressure.
"Yeah, I think so too."
Poro moved closer to Lake, carefully examining her delicate face under the hood, "If I were to disguise myself as you like in the fairy tales and go out to seduce people—
I could definitely eat my fill every day!"
"Hey, I won't let you do bad things using my appearance!"
Lake heard this and waved her fist, "Poro, you really are a big bad wolf, you just drank some blood and you're already thinking about such terrible things!"
"I'm a wolf now, it's reasonable to think about things like that, right?"
Poro said, placing the bishop's body flat on the ground.
He reached out, and while doing so, wore an innocent expression:
"But you, you're so cute, yet you're surprisingly merciless when you use your knife! You just said you were a good kid the day before yesterday!"
As he spoke, Poro used his claws to turn the bishop's body over, revealing the honeycomb-like wounds on his back.
The only wounds Poro caused were the bishop's throat being half-bitten off.
The blood holes on the bishop's back were mostly penetrating wounds made by Lake with her silver dagger.
"When I was in the forest, it took many stabs to kill a chicken, what if he was very powerful?"
Lake said a little embarrassed.
"But this cloak of yours is really overpowered, how much resistance does it have? It can even turn invisible, which saves a lot of trouble."
Poro said, starting to take off the remaining clothes from the bishop's corpse.
As for the bishop's gold and white robe, the bishop had taken it off himself, so it was spared from getting stained with blood.
"Look at this 'Bishop', his clothes look bright, but they're actually useless!"
"If his clothes were useful, then he wouldn't have taken them off, he would definitely wear them every day like me!"
Lake rolled up the bloody carpet and piled it together with the blood-stained bedsheets, saying with some pride.
"Maybe he wanted to take a bath, that's why he took them off," Poro said casually.
"Hey, I take baths too!"
"Ah? I thought your cloak had self-cleaning, so you didn't need to take a bath."
Poro was stunned for a moment, and quickly explained, "Uh, I mean, if I had such a cloak, I wouldn't take a bath."
"Poro, you're so dirty!"
"Hey, but you're the one who hasn't taken a bath for the past few days!"
"Then I'll take a bath for you to see tonight!"
"Ah? Can I?" Poro's eyes lit up.
"Of course not! You pervert!"
Anyone who has killed knows that it is easy to kill but difficult to hide the body, and the on-site disposal is not a simple matter.
But fortunately, no one usually enters the bishop's room.
In the past, the bishop would control others through magic to handle corpses or traces, and no one could remember what happened afterward.
And now, as long as Poro and Lake pay attention to preservation, throwing the bishop's body and the blood-stained items in the room wouldn't be a big deal.
Of course, the most important thing is not to let others discover that the bishop is dead.
How to do that?
It's quite simple.
Poro put the bishop's clothes on, and for a wolf, the baggy robe was a bit awkward.
As for the appearance, with the dead bishop's body right in front of them, the memory of his appearance was not that important.
Poro's figure began to twist, turning into a human form, supporting the bishop's robe.
In less than half a minute, "Bishop" was standing in the room again.
"Hehe, cute little lamb, the baptism is about to begin, are you scared?"
Poro looked at Lake, making a lewd expression, even his voice was exactly the same as the previous bishop.
"Poro, that's disgusting."
Lake curled her lips, "Don't scare me, I'll use my knife if you do that again."
"Tch, so boring."
Poro shrugged regretfully, then looked around the room, focusing his gaze on a row of bookshelves on the inside.
"What did that nun's notes say? There's a secret room in the bishop's room?"
"Yes, the notes record that the secret room should be behind the bookshelf."
Lake recalled.
The two walked to the bookshelf and began flipping through the books on it.
It didn't take long to find the mechanism hidden behind a book, but... it was a copper keyhole.
"It seems we still need a hidden prop..."
Poro scratched his head, then said, "The notes didn't mention this? Shouldn't this 'Bishop' open it himself?"
As he spoke, he looked at Lake again:
"But then again, if it were you, I wouldn't be able to wait..."
"Poro, are you talking a bit too much?"
Lake's face darkened, "You must have guessed where the key is, right?"
"Don't worry, the bishop is dead, the key must be on him."
Poro looked at the bishop's body, finally focusing his gaze on the religious book he never let go of.
Opening the religious book, Poro flipped through a few pages and pulled out a copper key from the interlayer, inserted it into the lock, twisted it, the bookshelf moved away, revealing a stone secret room.
Just like what was written in the nun's notes.
Unknown torture devices, instruments, materials, and... a wide variety of potions.
...
On the other side, in the center of the forest.
The originally flat grassland was turned over in a mess, countless roots, wood chips, charred branches and leaves were scattered all over the ground.
It was enough to see how fierce the battle had been these past few days.
"Ha—pain, death, that's the feeling... this is what I should have! I feel it, the past me, is gradually returning!"
The witch hunter was covered in blood, limping on the ground, without a single piece of intact skin on his body.
His hunting gun had been broken into several sections and thrown on the ground.
Also missing was his entire right arm, and half of his left leg.
His only remaining arm was covering his abdomen.
"Death, didn't take me away, I am a hunter, the forest—can never take my life!"
He laughed wildly, but the massive injuries made his voice sound garbled.
Limping forward, he walked to a charred towering tree.
On the trunk of the giant tree, you could vaguely see an old face.
"Forest Witch, this time, you, and your forest—lost!"
The witch hunter said, drawing out a somewhat chipped hunting knife with one hand.
But just as his hand left his abdomen, a spurt of blood shot out from his abdomen.
"What a mess, the intestines are coming out again."
The witch hunter only frowned, ignoring the organs leaking from his abdomen, and instead used the hunting knife to stab into the charred trunk of the tree.
He cut it open, grabbing a crystal core that shone with a cyan-green light from within.
"This time's trophy is not bad."
The witch hunter's body slowly collapsed, placing the crystal core beside him, slowly stuffing his organs back into his body, and looking at the scorch marks on the ground around him.
"Stay a few more days, at least, sew up my stomach first..."
