Cyberpunk 2074: Shadows of the Past

Chapter 108 Parents’ Meeting (Part 1)

The crisp bells jingled.

get out of class has ended.

David took off the old-fashioned Mewtwo device on his head, held it in his hand, and jumped down from the seat lightly.

"There will be a regular parent-teacher meeting every semester soon. Please be prepared..."

The teacher's words of advice seemed to linger in my ears for a long time.

His fingertips left faint marks on the old-fashioned Mewtwo, David frowned and clenched his teeth.

The ever-increasing tuition fees were like a mountain, weighing on him, making him breathless.

This year we can rely on the help of Sister Xida and her family to tide over the difficulties, but what about in the future?

Putting the Mewtwo Instrument on the seat, David lowered his head, avoided all his classmates, and walked to the bathroom alone.

As far as he knew, it was not easy for Sister Xi's family to make money as mercenaries.

He didn't know how much sweat and blood lay behind those mediocre numbers, and it was hard to imagine.

Looking up at his confused self in the mirror, David clenched his fists little by little, but in the end he could only put them down helplessly.

"Hello? Mom."

The harsh ringtone woke David up from his thoughts. After hurriedly taking out his cell phone from his pocket, he quickly answered the call.

"Hey...David, there's a traffic jam on the road, mom, can you wait for a while?"

"Drive slowly, Mom... pay attention to safety, the parent-teacher conference doesn't matter..."

"What are you talking about! It seems that if I don't show off my driving skills, I will be looked down upon by you brat today!"

"Hello! Mom? Hello?" David listened blankly to the busy signal that the phone had been hung up, and he didn't react for a moment.

"*!" The next second, he punched the tiled wall of the toilet so hard that the bricks rang loudly and his fingers turned red.

"Sophia!"

Sophia took off the latest Mewtwo Device, and before she could recover from the lesson just now, she was shaken to pieces by someone.

"Stop shaking, stop shaking!" Sofia said angrily, grabbing the prisoner who was pushing her.

She opened her eyes and saw that it was indeed Bonnie, her best friend.

"Look at the time, is your mother coming soon? Hurry up and pick her up!" Bonnie held her two cute dimples in her mouth, holding Sophia's hand and shaking it.

"Why are you more anxious than me?" Sophia tilted her head in confusion and asked curiously.

"You understand~"

"Ah?" Sophia frowned and thought for half a second, and suddenly realized, "I understand, I understand, there is a saying, 'The ugly daughter-in-law wants to see her parents-in-law,' right? No wonder you are so anxious..."

"I'm a little worried about your IQ, Sophia, this sentence can't be taken literally..." As a top-ranked good student, Bonnie subconsciously corrected her best friend's common sense mistakes in literature.

"Then you don't deny the 'ugly wife'..." Sophia nodded, contented to see Bonnie's face flushed with embarrassment after she reacted.

"Why are you like this? Has your sexual orientation changed after falling out of love?" Bonnie covered her chest and said with disgust.

"Let you Riddler? Hurry up and tell the truth!" Sophia wrinkled her nose vigorously, vividly expressing her dissatisfaction with someone's behavior.

"Oh... my parents won't be here... so I will accompany you to pick up mom..."

"Hmm..." Sofia then remembered the huge Bettencourt family behind Bonnie.

In this world where materialism is rampant and money is paramount, as one of the world's most famous families, the Betancourt family has confirmed that it has the privilege and ability to ignore most rules.

"You were almost kidnapped last time...are you okay?" Sophia secretly asked her best friend, expressing both concern and curiosity.

"It's a small matter, just a few strands of my hair that I accidentally tore off..." Bonnie shook her head nonchalantly at this moment, "I have experienced too many such things since I was a child, and in the end I always saved the day..."

"Oh, it turns out that the eldest lady also has unknown troubles..." Sophia teased, holding Bonnie's hand and walking out of the classroom door and outside the school.

When she was going down the stairs, she accidentally glanced back and saw a familiar boy in her class leaving the bathroom with a sad face and running away quickly.

"What's wrong?" Bonnie followed her and turned back. Except for some classmates who couldn't remember their names coming and going, she didn't see anything interesting or strange.

"Nothing..." Sofia shook her head, took Bonnie's hand, and jumped down the stairs.

"You're nagging..." Bonnie shook her head and held Sophia's hand tighter, "I'm already starting to worry about your mental state..."

"Bah, bah, bah... don't keep your mouth shut!" Sophia rolled her eyes at Bonnie, and a question suddenly appeared in her mind, "By the way, do you remember what was in my bag on the 20th?"

"On the day of the kidnapping? I do remember what I ate..." Bonnie frowned and stroked her smooth chin a few times with her free hand, "As for your bag... How can I have the guts to look through our ten thousand people?" Where is Queen Sophia's backpack..."

"Is this the weird mouth?" Sophia angrily grabbed Bonnie's tender face and pinched it gently, pretending to be fierce.

"Ouch! What a small mistake~ Queen, please forgive me!"

"How dare you say that?" Sophia said angrily, but she couldn't help but smile.

Under the gag of her best friend, Sophia successfully put aside the faint confusion that had just emerged.

"That's right, what's your mother's name? How should I call her later?"

"Why don't you just call me mom?" Sofia let go of her hand, smiled mischievously, and hugged Bonnie's slender waist tightly under her confused gaze.

"Ah? Yeah! Don't move, my waist is ticklish!" Bonnie blushed and whispered, her body constantly twisting in Sophia's arms in an attempt to avoid her naughty fingers.

"My mother's name is Nadia~" Sofia let go of Bonnie, who was blushing, and put her hands on her hips, looking very proud, "Doesn't it sound nice?"

"She is probably another beautiful woman who lives up to her name..." Bonnie said softly, fiddling with her somewhat messy hair.

"Your word 'again' is very clever..." Sofia nodded, contentedly accepting the high-level flattery from her best friend.

"I'm not complimenting you. Can some blonde woman with big breasts and no brains please stop being in line?"

"Is your skin itchy again?"

"I'm sorry, I was wrong... I'll try again next time!"

"Don't run away if you dare!" Sofia looked angrily at Bonnie who had already run away, gritted her teeth and chased after her.

The long journey was quickly shortened by their running pace.

Soon, Sophia saw the scene at the school gate.

"Hello, sister Tanya...I am Bonnie Bettencourt...Sofia's best friend..."

"Mom!" She gently pushed her butt away from her obstructive bestie, and Sofia smiled and threw herself into the arms of her mother, who was still a little confused about the situation.

Bonnie rubbed the waist where she was hit. Just when she was about to report it in front of Sophia's mother, she was attracted by the harsh sound of brakes not far away.

An old car quickly twisted a few times in the traffic flow, and then suddenly spun around. The car body drew a beautiful arc on the ground, mixed with the noise of tires rapidly rubbing against the ground and the steaming thick smoke. It arrived in an instant. The school gate.

"Oh, that's so cool!" Sophia stretched out her head in her mother's arms, looked at the red-haired woman slowly walking out of the smoke, and praised loudly.
