In the void, a stream of light flashed past...

On the bridge of the Twilight of the Gods, Blood瞳 stood by the window with a glass of red wine in his hand. He was wearing simple pajamas, and his wet hair hung over his forehead.

After a fierce battle, a hearty hot bath could quickly eliminate fatigue and restore physical fitness to its best state.

So Blood瞳 was very relaxed now.

Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, the scenery of the void moved. One moment it was an orange nebula, and the next it was in a pitch-black vortex. The unimaginable speed of the Twilight of the Gods was very exciting, almost as fast as anti-space jumps. However, navigating in normal space was obviously much more comfortable than in anti-space, so Blood瞳 didn't want to enter anti-space unless necessary.

The deeper he went into that dark, endless world, the closer he got to the abyss.

Although Blood瞳 knew that the abyss was inseparable from him, he still felt a little cold whenever he thought of the universe being swallowed by darkness.

He knew this was an escape, but he still didn't want to just let the abyss be released and let the universe return to nothingness...

Could there be other choices besides destruction? Thinking of the secrets he had glimpsed during the battle between the abyss and the will of the universe, Blood瞳 felt that perhaps there was more than one choice.

"What are you thinking about?"

A gentle voice came from behind. Blood瞳 didn't need to turn around to know it was Robbie. The priest was still wearing his eternally unchanging black priest's robe, and his blond hair was also wet, obviously having just taken a shower.

"Robbie, haven't you ever considered changing your clothes?" Blood瞳 frowned. "It seems like you haven't changed since the day we met."

"You haven't changed either, why should I change?" Robbie shrugged his shoulders, took a bottle of red wine from the nearby wine rack, poured himself a glass, and then looked at Blood瞳.

"Oh? Not drinking rum and whiskey today?"

"I want a change of pace." Blood瞳 raised his glass and drank the red wine in one gulp. "But unfortunately, it doesn't taste good."

"You're a crude fellow." Robbie smiled, picked up his glass and shook it gently, watching the wine cling to the glass wall. "This kind of sentimental thing, of course, only noble people know how to appreciate, like me..."

"You're still so cocky. Does being a clergyman also improve artistic cultivation?"

"It's faith, buddy. Faith." Robbie corrected Blood瞳's words. "As for my cultivation, of course, it's innate... As long as girls like it, why do you care so much?"

"Whatever." Blood瞳 shook his head, turned around, opened a bottle of whiskey, and drank half of it in one gulp, exhaling a breath of alcohol. "This stuff is more to my taste."

"As long as I can live." Blood瞳 replied, looking calmly out the window. "Yes, just live."

"That's a high demand." Robbie muttered, and then planned to leave the bridge. Everything here was fully automatic. As long as the route was set, no one needed to watch over it. And so-called watching was just to deal with some emergencies.

Now, on this Twilight of the Gods, there were at least four planetary-level and one stellar-level experts sitting in town, so what accidents could happen? Unknowingly, Blood瞳 and his companions had gone from being down-and-out little soldiers to developing into the boss stage. The existences they once needed to look up to were now being trampled under their feet one by one.

But just as Robbie was about to leave, Jules' voice suddenly sounded in the bridge.

"Blood瞳, Robbie. Come here quickly!"

Her voice was a little anxious, obviously encountering trouble. Blood瞳 and Robbie looked at each other and hurried over.

Soon, they arrived at Jules' location, the twins' room...

"How long has this been going on..." Blood瞳 stared at the bed on one side of the room, frowning as he asked.

"It's been over an hour." Jules replied from the side, her beautiful face full of anxiety. "Ever since you guys took out those pursuers, the two of them have been feeling a little uncomfortable. Then it got more and more serious, and now they've lost consciousness..."

On the bed, the twins were hugging each other tightly, their little faces were as pale as paper. Large drops of sweat dripped from their foreheads, even their pajamas were soaked, and their eyes and mouths were tightly closed, showing that they were suffering.

Robbie stepped forward and touched Little Posey's forehead, and was stunned.

"This is... a fever?"

How could they have a fever?

Robbie was a little dumbfounded. This was really rare. How powerful was the physique of a cosmic warrior? After evolving to the meteor level, ordinary diseases had already left them far away. By the time they reached the meteorite level, they were immune to all diseases and almost immune to all known viruses.

A fever seemed like something that happened in the distant memory.

But the heat in his hand wouldn't deceive him. Robbie raised his head and looked at Jules. "Have you checked?"

"There's nothing abnormal at all." Jules' face was very bad. In fact, she got along very well with the twins now. Except when they talked about Blood瞳, the two little guys always declared their sovereignty very domineeringly, they usually got along well. After all, they had been partners for so long, and they knew each other's preferences very well. The innocence and romance of the two little guys just made up for Jules' aloofness.

Now that the little guys had a problem, she was of course very anxious...

"All vital signs and virus curves are normal. They are not sick. Nor have they suffered any ability attacks." Jules said. "I suspect, is it something mental..."

"That doesn't make sense. If there was a mental attack, Blood瞳 and I wouldn't be unaware." Robbie replied. He himself was a leader in the mental field, otherwise he wouldn't be a priest. Blood瞳 was even a mid-level stellar. How strong would it take to do something under their noses?

It must be some other reason...

Robbie frowned, but what was the reason?

Just as he was pondering, Blood瞳 suddenly said, "Be careful!"

"What?"

Robbie was startled. Before he could react, he felt a violent tremor under his feet, and the entire ship actually flipped over violently... Although he didn't feel uncomfortable under the effect of artificial gravity, this change made his heart sink. When he followed Blood瞳's gaze and looked out the window, he realized that at some point, the Twilight of the Gods had sailed into a vast cloud of mist...

The fog was diffuse, and there was no end in sight. It was as if the whole world was filled. Robbie's eyes flashed. "When did this happen? Why didn't we notice it?"

At the same time, a piercing alarm sounded inside the ship. "Warning, high-energy fluctuations! Warning, high-energy fluctuations! Space distortion is increasing, folding is occurring!"

Through the porthole, one could see that the void outside the ship was twisting crazily, erupting with terrifying spatial turbulence.

"It's an enemy attack." Blood瞳 said calmly, then nodded to Jules. "Take care of them, I'll be right back."
