Colonial Suit
#901 - Listen...funeral bells!
"Beep beep, beep beep goo goo..."
The mechanical monster seemed enraged, emitting a series of electronic sounds, followed by the projection of a light screen.
The light screen displayed a realistic image of a group of humans and other alien races being driven into a device by the Sagester people, then dissected and modified. Mechanical devices were implanted in their bodies, turning them into another kind of half-human, half-machine creation. Although similar to human modification surgeries, the difference was that it was centered on machinery. After the modification, the victims lost their self-awareness and became slaves of the Sagester people.
The mechanical monster's meaning was simple: carbon-based life in the universe was their tool. It disdained equality. In its view, no matter how hard humans tried, they could only be inferior beings, like pigs.
The gaunt old man was not angry; he simply gazed calmly at the image, as if watching a past event, a piece of history.
Humans are lowly; he never denied it, because that was the truth.
But the lowliness of origin did not represent the lowliness of the soul. Beneath the insignificant bodies bullied by every race, lay the purest, most vigorous souls in the universe.
"It is precisely this sight that drives us forward," the lean old man said, a trace of sorrow in his eyes, and even more anticipation. He looked at the mechanical monster and said, word by word, as if representing all of humanity, making a declaration to the highest authority in the universe.
"We do not deny the past, therefore, we must create the future."
"The past belongs to you, but the future belongs to us."
"You are not the first noble to fall at our feet, and you will certainly not be the last!"
With that, he and the other stellar-level mercenary turned and left, never looking at the monster again.
We come from humility, to seize the crown of kings.
High and mighty gods...
Will be defeated by us.
Lowly creatures in the mud, wield rusty sickles.
To take back what is ours.
Even if the road ahead is death and sorrow.
No one will pray for you...
An ancient song seemed to resonate in the void, gradually growing from a faint whisper to a grand chorus, until finally, it seemed to be sung by billions. The song was filled with sorrow, filled with hope, and filled with courage and motivation.
This is humanity.
Creatures in the mud, even if trampled down ten thousand times, a hundred million times, will struggle to rise! What is crying, what is laughing? As long as we hold hope in our hearts, even if we are bullied, killed, oppressed, and ravaged.
We will never let go!
Because beneath our insignificant bodies, our souls...
Are burning!!
The monster was also enraged by their attitude, emitting a piercing electronic sound, and then stretched out dozens of mechanical tentacles, intertwining them into a huge turret. The light of death expanded at the muzzle, about to be fired. This beam was the Sagester people's ultimate weapon. Once hit, whether it was an avatar or the main body, even if separated by endless distances and countless barriers, it would still die.
In its view, ants should have the awareness of ants. Ants that dare to bare their fangs at nobles can only be destroyed.
Unfortunately, it thought of the beginning, but not the end.
Just as it locked onto the two mercenaries, suddenly, a palm reached out from the void beside them, accurately pressing on its muzzle.
The palm was fair and small. Compared to the huge muzzle, it was not even a speck of dust.
But it was this hand, this insignificant hand that was not even a speck of dust... that instantly gathered everyone's attention.
Anticipation and courage. Passion and desire.
"Sorry, I'm late," a voice flowed in the mind, like the river of time, from ancient times to the present.
"But I assure you, it won't run away this time."
Behind the palm, countless rays of light extended, weaved, and formed an arm, a figure, a gorgeous dress.
The brilliant gold thread runes shimmered in the void, so bright, so dazzling. Finally, Muse's face emerged from the light.
His expression was as calm as the lean old man's, and his gaze at the mechanical core was like looking at a piece of history.
And history, all belongs to the past...
"This universe is yours, and it is ours," he said, as if explaining something. "But ultimately, it is all ours."
"Unfortunately, you didn't understand why they fight. Why they use their weak bodies to block your path."
"Because they are waiting for me..."
Muse raised his head to the sky, a trace of sorrow flashing in his eyes. "Waiting for me to cut off your retreat, destroy your defenses. Only then will you be killed by me, and your civilization will not be reborn."
"Humanity's path has always been bloody. It contains not only you, but more of ourselves."
The palm extended and clenched. Muse suddenly burst into light, all the gold thread runes glowing and vibrating. The vibration extended from his palm, spreading rapidly, eventually covering the entire mechanical monster.
The mechanical monster screamed furiously, but could not stop the spread of the vibration. It wanted to attack, but the vibration prevented its energy from running. If its satellites were intact, these would not be considered anything. But now that its satellites had been wiped out by the seven stellar mercenaries, what could it use to stop all of this?
Only its main body!
The main body that had not been touched by anyone for tens of thousands of years!
Black hole levels are difficult to kill. It's not that they are so powerful, but that their main body is hidden extremely deep. Complex defense systems, projections deep into the second layer of anti-space, and a series of rule replacements and creation abilities ensure their safety. But all of this requires a premise, which is not to be contacted by a strong person of the same level!
Because for black hole levels, battles involving the main body are battles to the death!
Historically, black hole-level powerhouses have not been without fights, but the problem is that even at the same level, it is difficult to enter the battle of the main body. Their foundation is too deep, and their understanding of the rules has glimpsed the bottom layer of the universe. As long as they don't want to, death is a very, very distant thing.
But now, under the self-sacrifice of the human mercenaries and Muse's hidden layout, such a situation has been created. A killing game to the death!
"I know this is dangerous. I will die, only possibly."
Feeling the vibration also spreading into his own body, Muse finally twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing the first smile since his appearance.
Very calm, very cruel.
"But you will die, that is certain."
He said this, then opened his arms and 'hugged' the mechanical monster. Gently, like a lover's embrace.
"Let me ring for you..."
"The funeral bell!"
The light extended, and the mechanical monster's screams and Muse's laughter echoed in it.
No one will pray for you... (To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendation and monthly tickets. Your support is my biggest motivation..)
