Colonial Suit
#845 - Altar Appearance
A ring, an incredibly enormous ring.
Countless warships, the smallest of which were over a thousand meters in length, layered upon each other in the starry sky, forming an endless, colossal ring with their bows and sterns connected. At the very center of the ring, however, was only a tiny, almost dust-like meteorite.
It was a seemingly ordinary, unremarkable meteorite, yet at this moment, it had become the focus of countless civilizations. It was indescribably strange and bizarre.
After observing it for a while from the porthole, Blood瞳 closed his eyes.
The meteorite was, of course, not ordinary; its appearance was merely a facade. In fact, it did not exist. No matter how Blood瞳 perceived it, he could not find its location.
With Blood瞳's current abilities, if even he could not detect an object, then it could be said that it truly did not exist. Although perception here was somewhat suppressed, pure intuition was not. Therefore, Blood瞳 vaguely felt that this meteorite might be a relic left behind in the human world by the Second World.
But, since it 'didn't exist', how did everyone find it?
“This is the gateway to the Second World.”
A cold voice came from beside him as Brute walked up to Blood瞳. He gazed at the meteorite and said, “It is also the altar we will be heading to shortly.”
“Its area is not big enough.” Blood瞳 frowned slightly. “There will be a lot of restrictions when fighting.”
“Don't worry, the size of the environment is never a problem. Don't forget, those bastards in the Second World intended for us to kill each other in the first place. So the battle environment will definitely satisfy you.”
“By the way, do you prefer aerial combat, space combat, or land combat? Just don't tell me it's underwater.”
“Anything is fine.” Blood瞳 answered casually, his eyes growing colder.
No one knew that ever since he came to understand the world, a terrifying desire had been brewing within Blood瞳. It was a desire for battle, the predatory instinct of a combat creature and a combat race after their strength had increased. This desire lurked in Blood瞳's heart, constantly releasing its hunger.
For Blood瞳's reaction, it meant that he was even more eager for blood than usual. He yearned for screams and wails.
Only when life bloomed like fireworks before him could he satisfy the hunger in his heart.
“I hope… there won't be too few candidates participating in the ritual.” Blood瞳 suddenly said, gazing at the ordinary meteorite.
Brute gave him a strange look, seeming to sense the suppressed emotions within Blood瞳. He frowned slightly, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. Even though he knew Blood瞳 was on his side, he still instinctively wanted to stay away.
“There won't be few. It will definitely satisfy you.”
“That's good.” Blood瞳 nodded, then turned and left without looking back.
He couldn't look any longer, or he was afraid he wouldn't be able to restrain the desire in his heart. His hands and feet, every inch of his skin, every cell in his body, were cheering and howling, waiting for the feast of blood. It was a ritual belonging to many civilizations, and also, a dining table belonging to Blood瞳.
It will definitely… be very enjoyable…
Blood瞳 thought silently as he walked into the yacht's training room.
In the void, the human fleet silently slipped into a gap in the ring formation, so calm and so natural, as if it was supposed to be there all along.
The countless civilizations participating in the ritual watched them, coldly, as if watching a passerby.
The day of the ritual was a festival for the entire universe, but not all civilizations could qualify. In addition to offering enough sacrifices, participants also needed to have sufficient backing and powerful warriors. The ritual was a ticket to enter the Second World. Backing was to ensure the rights and interests of the civilization, while warriors were to ensure that their clan's qualification for the ritual would not be snatched away.
This ritual was very grand, so the preparation time was very long. For most civilizations, this meant their first and last hope of entering the Second World. Of course, they would do everything in their power.
The news of the Great Destruction had already spread within a small circle. Although it was once a secret of the higher civilizations, as more and more people learned about it, the original secret was naturally no longer a secret. Faced with such a terrifying future, civilizations without strength only hoped it would come as late as possible. But civilizations with strength longed to get a piece of the pie.
Ambition and competition were things the universe never lacked.
Of course, this ritual would be no exception.
The fleet gathered in the 'ring formation', then redistributed according to the fleet's formation, forming a huge three-dimensional fortress. Compared to the 'beautiful' warships of energy civilizations, the 'powerful' appearance of steel and machinery naturally attracted the attention of many people.
The civilization style of the Third World, with humans and some alien races insisting on using machinery, naturally belonged to another category.
Of course, this was nothing. Energy civilizations were stubborn. In their eyes, only the beautiful and brilliant luster of energy patterns represented beauty and justice. This brilliance had accompanied them for countless years, bringing them victory after victory. It was a combination of elegance and power. There was no reason, no motive for them to choose anything else. This was completely different from human flexibility. In fact, despite the fact that the human mechanical style was still tough, some structures in the huge human motherships had been converted to energy pulse paths. Compared to human transmission methods, energy pulse paths were obviously more efficient.
The Speaker had changed into a gorgeous robe and stood on the platform in front of the yacht with Councilor Sal Jones, overlooking the many ships of other civilizations.
He wore a smile on his face, but his eyes held sarcasm.
Time passed, day after day. Gradually, new fleets entered the void, filling the gaps in the 'ring formation'. Strangely enough, the tightly connected ring formation could accept new members at any time, as if it could accommodate everything.
Another half month passed, and finally, the distant nebula vortex began to dissipate. The entrance to the ritual site was sealed.
All the ships emitted ear-piercing alarms in an instant, and the instruments monitoring spatial particles showed a large number of abnormal values. Through the portholes, people could even witness the changes in the void.
Around the lone meteorite, the void was highly distorted, and countless black lightning bolts jumped out of thin air. Dense spatial particles collided, intertwined, and highly concentrated around the meteorite, forming a temporarily 'independent' space. All the warship detections indicated that the space around the meteorite had been divided at this moment. It was as if an invisible hand was 'picking' the meteorite out of the normal universe.
Visible to the naked eye, the meteorite began to blur, expand, twist, and change. A huge 'celestial body' was emerging from the meteorite…
Blood瞳 stood on the bridge, watching all this expressionlessly.
“This is… the altar.”(To be continued. If you like this work, you are welcome to vote for recommendations and monthly tickets. Your support is my biggest motivation.).
