Colonial Suit

#743 - Why treacherous?

In the void, endless rules trembled and shuddered, yearning to escape, yet unable to alter even a fraction under the encroachment of black纹路. Above, the sea of blood slowly rotated, akin to the boundless universe, each intrusion of the black纹路 bringing it power, which in turn coalesced into the black纹路 itself.

Within the void, mysterious black runes had begun to take shape. They were nonexistent, yet omnipresent. Each rune represented a new rule, one belonging solely to the Abyss, the power of the Abyss.

The spectral shadow of Blood瞳 hovered silently amidst these endless black runes, its eyes flashing with bloodthirsty red light.

Powerful…

Truly… too powerful…

This was Blood瞳’s second summoning of a projection from the Abyss, but the first time he had consciously experienced the Abyss’s power! At this moment, he no longer possessed a physical form, yet the pulsations from the Abyss were all the more clearly reflected upon him. In the pitch-black shadow, every wisp of mist carried the Abyss’s aura, every formation of纹路 signified a rule. Unlike the energy system of the universe’s warriors, these rules, though perhaps lacking earth-shattering energy, each implied absoluteness!

These were the rules of the Abyss, even in the current universe, they represented destruction. How could a mere small plane bear them?

Almost instantly, the golden lines surrounding Blood瞳’s shadow began to wither, and the void began to crumble. If this continued normally, it would only take a few minutes for Blood瞳’s shadow to sink into this void, leading this plane to destruction.

However, Blood瞳’s goal was not destruction, but invasion.

Feeling the surging, terrifying rules within him, his eyes narrowed slightly.

“Your main body… has been found.”

The shadow vanished in an instant, reappearing in a certain part of the void. This place had originally been filled with endless golden lines, but now, out of fear of the Abyss, it had become incomparably empty. Yet, within this empty void, there was an imperceptible blue mist vortex.

The vortex was extremely small, not even the size of a speck of dust. But the moment Blood瞳 appeared, it emitted a wave of fear and retreated.

Unfortunately, it could not escape the shadow’s gaze. In an instant, it was seized by the shadow.

Immediately, countless rules burst into Blood瞳’s mind, all simple or flawed. These rules gathered together to form this void, this plane. But now, it was all exposed in Blood瞳’s hand.

However, none of this was the most important. What mattered most was that within this faint blue vortex, there was a trace of consciousness… a self-awareness!

The plane’s will!

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, Blood瞳 would hardly have believed that this was the core of the plane, the true mastermind behind everything.

Simply because, this will was too simple, too primitive…

If a human’s thinking were used as a standard, this will was not even as good as a three-year-old child. It only had simple likes and dislikes, primitive needs. If one had to add some color to it, it would be its desire for evolution, for self-improvement.

This was an incredibly primitive will, like a ball of chaos.

Blood瞳 found it hard to believe that such a will was ruling such a vast plane, dominating a starfield.

But then again, perhaps it was precisely because of this that this plane could grow under the universe’s surveillance. Because for the universe, a plane was like a tumor. The growth of a plane inherently meant the weakening of the universe. In a sense, a plane could eventually replace the universe, as long as it… well, grew bigger than the universe. (Theoretically speaking, cancer cells can also replace traditional organs… hehe.)

However, how could the real universe be so simple? If a plane posed a threat to it, it would have been annihilated long ago. This plane’s growth to its current state was already an anomaly.

In an instant, Blood瞳 suddenly thought of a contradiction.

That was, without enough wisdom, a plane could not grow, and with enough wisdom, a plane would be rejected by the universe.

So, what principle allowed this huge and healthy plane to both escape the universe’s rejection and continue to grow?

There was only one reason.

“So… you are such a cunning little thing.”

Looking at the plane’s will in his hand, Blood瞳’s shadow revealed a terrifying smile.

At this time, the entire void had begun to be invaded by the Abyss’s power. Everywhere one looked, the golden lines had been faintly dyed black. Strands upon strands of silk were being invaded and assimilated. The original primitive rules began to fail, replaced by the rules of the Abyss.

This was an extremely rapid, yet irreversible process. Once the silk threads throughout the space were eroded by the Abyss, this void would be ruined.

It would become the Abyss, or rather, a part of the Abyss.

This was of course an extremely dangerous thing, because for the current universe, a plane might be a tumor, but it could not threaten itself. The Abyss was different. If it discovered that this plane had become the Abyss, then the universe’s only reaction would be to use all its strength to obliterate it. At that time, it would be a confrontation between the Abyss and the universe!

That would not only be a disaster for the universe, but also for Blood瞳.

Because at present, he did not possess the power to destroy the universe. Even if the Abyss wanted to destroy the universe, it would be a long and irreversible process, certainly not something he could bear now.

Feeling the fear coming from the little thing in his hand, Blood瞳 couldn’t help but smile slightly.

At this point, fear was already too late.

How could the will of the Abyss be so easily summoned? For Blood瞳, the Abyss was both his main body and another existence. The Abyss had no wisdom, but used instinct as its standard of action. So for the current Abyss, what was more attractive than a plane?

Swallowing this plane was equivalent to practicing for swallowing the universe in the future. It was truly the perfect experimental body.

So in these short breaths, the entire void had been occupied by black纹路. Blood瞳 watched as the void changed its appearance, a cold smile in his heart.

He could not stop the Abyss, but he could guide it.

Perhaps, it was time for him to make a choice.

But at that moment, suddenly, a voice entered his eardrums.

“Heavens, I have finally met you, my ancestor!”

A burly figure suddenly pierced through the void and appeared beside Blood瞳.

He was none other than Xiu Ji!!
