Colonial Suit

#671 - Can't! Stop it?

Blood clouds churned, unleashing violent shockwaves that swept across the wilderness like a tidal surge. The white mist was utterly vulnerable before it, annihilated in an instant as if it were nothingness.

That was the power of life!

The purest, most potent, most awe-inspiring force in the universe!

Standing atop the altar, Hork's gaze was complex.

"So... that's how it is."

"What exactly is going on? What, what's inside there..." Rainbow cried out in disbelief. "It's empty inside!"

That's right!

From their vantage point, they could see that the colossal and magnificent modulation nest was utterly devoid of any figure. The only things inside were the constantly churning blood-colored liquid and a wisp of black mist, barely discernible. The black mist was dim, yet it persistently wandered through the blood, like a phantom, or rather... its true master.

Blood瞳 was gone.

Or rather, invisible to the naked eye...

He had melted and dissolved, completely merging into the blood. His body and spirit had become one with the blood. Every cell, every gene, regardless of size or distinction. In a sense, he was now the ruin, and the ruin was him.

And this... was the greatest secret of the Krodel.

"I finally... understand..." Hork's face paled slightly as he stared at the churning liquid in the modulation nest.

He had thought of the beginning, but not the process.

It turned out that the Krodel people passed on their life force in this way. After ten thousand years, this ruin, no, everyone here, was actually a vessel for life force. Especially the hundreds of millions of conquerors in this wilderness—they were not just the King's power, but also the King's food! Their bodies, their spirits, their lives, everything about them, was for the King!

For this day!

They were going to use themselves, use the life they had accumulated for ten thousand years, to help Blood瞳 rebuild his body.

A body belonging solely to the Krodel, the most honorable King!

"This is just... like a dream," Rainbow muttered blankly, her mouth dry as she involuntarily swallowed.

Indeed, it was too incredible. Who else in the entire universe, which other civilization, could achieve this? It was not just technology, but also the will and inheritance of a civilization. It was the voice of an entire civilization, echoing after ten thousand years.

A single voice!

Rainbow couldn't imagine what kind of king, what kind of subjects, could be so unified, so fanatical. But she knew one thing: if such a civilization were to reappear in the universe, to step out into the world again, it would be a nightmare for all worlds, all civilizations!

A civilization that had accumulated ten thousand years of resentment, uttering the same voice.

Who could stop it?

Hork's forehead was covered in cold sweat.

He was under immense pressure because acquiring this ruin was equivalent to making enemies with everything here, with the hundreds of millions of conquerors, a civilization that had once dominated the universe. That was an absolute, incomparably powerful will and force, a flame that could incinerate enemies with the slightest touch.

And he... had to walk into this flame that could incinerate the universe, to obtain what he wanted.

"No one... can stop me..."

Hork lowered his head slightly, glancing at the ice crystal in his palm. He didn't know if this was a declaration or a way to bolster his confidence. And then...

He stepped down from the altar.

Following the blood-red path, he walked towards the King's Nest.

The stench of blood in the air intensified, and the blood clouds had become almost tangible, constantly releasing intense shockwaves. As soon as the shockwaves touched Hork, they tore his combat suit to shreds, revealing the robust muscles underneath.

The feeling was excruciating, as if he were being subjected to slow slicing. Countless blood threads appeared on Hork's skin, and blood oozed from every pore.

But Hork continued to move forward.

He seemed oblivious to the pain in his body, his eyes fixed solely on the magnificent modulation nest. As he advanced, he could feel countless gazes fixed upon him. They were all from newly awakened conquerors. They were furious, they were roaring.

"No one can stop me."

Hork repeated again. He pointed at the surrounding modulation nests, at the hundreds of millions of conquerors, as if facing the entire world.

Facing the entire world with the strength of one man.

"You have your will, I have my persistence! I acknowledge your suffering, but I cannot fulfill your wishes! So I understand your anger... but I... will not stop."

With a clench of his fingers, a sharp mist of ice suddenly erupted, instantly freezing thousands of modulation nests on both sides of the road. All the conquerors who glared at Hork were turned into images frozen in ice crystals, their roars captured for eternity.

"Absolute Freeze!"

Hork lowered his head, looking at his clenched hands.

"No one can stop me!"

This was the third time he had repeated these words, but his tone was more determined and confident each time!

Yes, he was now facing a civilization, a will that was both awe-inspiring and had been passed down for ten thousand years.

But so what?

Hork also had his own persistence! Although this persistence seemed insignificant compared to the suffering of the Krodel, it was equivalent to the entire world for Hork! Just as he had said, he would not look at anything else, even if everyone died in front of him, he would not spare a glance. He only wanted one person.

Only one.

Pfft.

Hork's footsteps finally stopped. He had arrived at the bottom of the giant modulation nest. From this angle, the giant modulation nest appeared even taller and more magnificent. Endless life energy gathered here from all directions, condensing into an almost tangible form. Even breathing, one could feel the active molecules leaping in the blood.

And all of this would be poured into the modulation nest, to create the Krodel's King.

Hork silently looked at it, feeling the power it was gathering. He took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry, Blood瞳."

"I know this is important to you. I also know that if I continue, you may never come back."

"But... please forgive my selfishness."

"I also have a reason I can't give up."

A hint of pain finally appeared on Hork's face, but this pain was not physical, but mental. Even if he had the most steadfast belief, when he had to personally complete all of this, personally kill another friend who was deeply connected to him, the pain in his heart was still like a raging ocean.

"No one... can stop me!!"

He repeated these words for the fourth time, and then Hork suddenly leaped up and rushed towards the modulation nest!

He wanted to break it, to extract Blood瞳's existence, and then put Niya's tears into it. Let the Krodel's life force accumulated for ten thousand years reshape Niya's body! A perfect body that could replace the Krodel King!!

No one could stop him!!

Because he was Hork!!

A Stellar-level, Hork!!

Bang!!

Just as Hork's fist was about to collide with the modulation nest, a cloud of black mist suddenly detached from it and transformed into a fist, colliding with him. The instantaneous burst of power actually pushed Hork away, launching him like a cannonball.

While still in mid-air, Hork's pupils suddenly constricted. He looked forward in disbelief.

There, the black mist surged... slowly condensing into a terrifying humanoid figure.
