Colonial Suit

#660 - I am the yellow bird

In the filthy pool of blood, a serene scene unfolded.

A girl of extreme beauty sat quietly, cradling the mangled remains of a man in her arms. She gazed at him tenderly, her eyes devoid of passion or fervor, only filled with an unchanging tranquility and silent affection.

Love should never be used for mere declarations.

Love is meant to be savored, like a fine wine, where only time can reveal its fragrance after the initial intensity.

Crystalline tears streamed down Dirk's cheeks, like the most dazzling crystals in the universe. Dirk was at peace, drifting off to sleep in his own ocean.

His body was still incomplete, his fingers still dripping with blood. Yet, somehow, this broken form evoked a sense of infancy. As if purely newborn, just separated from the womb.

Gazing at them quietly, Robbie suddenly felt a flicker before his eyes, as if he saw a pair of pure white wings unfurling from the woman's back. Like an angel from the Bible, she was so holy and full of love. A halo of white light emanated from within her, as if cleansing the entire cave. The filthy pool of blood was no longer filthy. The pungent stench of blood was no longer pungent.

Robbie suddenly felt a surge of understanding.

This woman was not Jules.

Although she possessed the same face, the same beauty, there was another person, another soul, within her.

Under Robbie's gaze, the woman slowly stood up, still holding Dirk tightly in her arms. Perhaps normally her frame was far smaller than Dirk's robust build, but now that Dirk was only half a body, she held him effortlessly. The woman carried him out from under the altar, offering Robbie a faint smile.

"I'm sorry to have startled you. He sometimes doesn't take care of himself. But I promise it won't happen again."

"You…" Robbie opened his mouth, but found it dry. "You and Jules…"

"Jules?" The woman interrupted Robbie with a smile. "Are you referring to the owner of this body? She is my descendant."

"Descendant…?" Robbie's eyes widened. Although he had suspected the woman's identity, confirmation was another matter entirely. The thought of her age sent a shiver down Robbie's spine.

Before him stood a truly ancient being.

Regardless, Jules had been his teammate, and a girl who was close to Bloodshot. Robbie couldn't possibly let her leave.

But before he could speak, the woman smiled slightly at Robbie and then said softly, "I know. My descendant has some connection to you. And she is still confused about someone among you. So, I am not here to take her away this time. I am content to have seen Dirk here. So… I will leave her in your care."

"Huh?" Robbie was taken aback, but before he could speak, the mysterious woman suddenly raised her head and closed her eyes.

The next moment, a soft yet sacred white light emanated from her, instantly filling all the space. Within the white light, a woman draped in white gauze slowly emerged from Jules' body, with long wings extending from her back. She resembled Jules, but was even more perfect, even more holy. At that moment, it was as if a true angel had descended upon this filthy world.

When the white light dissipated, the figures of the woman and Dirk had vanished without a trace. Only Jules remained, unconscious on the ground.

"Hmph!" Little Bossy harrumphed in dissatisfaction.

Not fun, not fun at all. It didn't follow the script at all. What lovey-dovey stuff? It turned out to be Jules's ancestor from who-knows-how-many generations ago. How was Bloodshot supposed to hate her? How was Bloodshot supposed to abandon her?

The worst part was, even though that woman left, why didn't she take Jules with her! Leaving her behind was clearly setting up a reunion between Bloodshot and Jules!

Thinking of this, Little Bossy gritted her teeth in hatred, wanting nothing more than to shoot Jules below.

But at this point, she had no say. Robbie sighed softly and said to her, "Take care of Jules. We'll discuss these things when Bloodshot wakes up."

"Annoying." Helpless, Little Bossy pouted and reluctantly went down to put Jules on the altar, finally throwing her at her feet. Of course, she threw her with force! Uh, the kind of force that was very unintentional.

Jules grunted heavily, startling Little Bossy. She breathed a sigh of relief only after realizing that the other girl was still unconscious.

Patting her little chest, Little Bossy was about to turn to look at Bloodshot when her gaze suddenly froze.

Because she saw that another person had actually walked into the entrance of the cave.

This time, of course, it wasn't a woman, but a man Little Bossy didn't recognize.

"Who are you?" Looking at this scarred man, Little Bossy raised her eyebrows warily, a chilling glint flashing between her fingers.

Hearing her warning, Robbie also turned around, immediately startled.

Unlike Little Bossy, Robbie suddenly felt a sense of familiarity when he looked at this strange man. A familiar aura. After carefully observing him for a while, he tentatively asked.

"You… are Old Man Death??"

"What!?" Little Bossy was shocked. But before she could react, she heard the man suddenly burst into a hysterical laughter. The laughter was incredibly mad, as if trying to laugh out all the air in his lungs. It was indescribably terrifying.

"Ha… hahaha… hahahahaha…"

The man laughed wildly, his body trembling violently, and a large amount of blood spurted from the wounds all over his body, like a blood man.

He laughed wildly, shouting hoarsely.

"Gone!! Finally gone!! That terrible woman, does she also have fatal weaknesses? Unthinkable… really unthinkable, Dirk is her weakness, to save Dirk, she even abandoned this ruin!"

"Haha, hahahaha! So, the person who finally got the ruins is me!!"

"What Pluto, what Dominator, what Aertans! What's the use of being strong? What's the use of trying hard? Only the person who persists to the end is qualified to laugh, only the person who persists to the end is qualified to get all this!"

"That's me!! It's me!!"

"Old Man Death!?" Robbie's face changed instantly. Where was the previous gentleness of Old Man Death? He clearly saw a demon, a demon that had just been released from the bottom of his heart, full of desire and ferocity.

It is not terrible for a person to have desires, what is terrible is that he not only has desires, but also has the ability to realize them and use them to wreak havoc!

And when the origin of this desire is not kind, then this desire is a sin.

Original sin.

"May my Lord forgive my arrogance." Robbie lowered his head and made a cross on his chest. Then his voice suddenly turned cold.

"So, respected Old Man Death. What are you going to do?"

"What to do??" Old Man Death's laughter stopped abruptly, his gaze passed over Robbie and the others, and finally fixed on the super-giant gorgeous modulation nest in the wilderness behind. He smiled coldly.

"Everything is mine. Tell Bloodshot to come out of there, that's not a place he should be in. His value has been exhausted at this time. If you are smart enough, it is best to stand aside. I don't mind having a few new subordinates. I also don't mind you fighting for a few direct warrior quotas in the mercenary headquarters, otherwise…"

Old Man Death didn't continue, but his eyes suddenly narrowed.
