Colonial Suit
#35 - revenge
Black Bear had been in a bad mood lately. Although he had conquered the entire shelter and emerged victorious from the recent gang conflicts, he was still unhappy. He had a nagging feeling that some misfortune was about to befall him, which made him even more irritable, often scolding and beating his subordinates.
At this moment, he was lying in the best villa in Shelter No. 1. Two fair-skinned girls were giving him a massage. Such a life was originally only fit for the leader of Shelter No. 1, a position that was a world away from Black Bear. But since he obtained the armored suit and got in touch with Kester, he had become the strongest person here. He personally broke the limbs of the original leader and threw him into the wilderness. That guy wailed for five full days before finally dying. This made Black Bear very proud. He watched with satisfaction as the gangs in the shelter who were unwilling to submit to him quickly gathered at his feet, begging for his forgiveness with an almost pleading attitude, greatly satisfying his twisted ego.
But why did he still feel unhappy?
Black Bear thought gloomily, reaching out to touch his bald head, but accidentally touched a small wound on the back of his neck. His face immediately darkened. He kicked the girl who was massaging his leg to the ground. The girl showed a painful expression, but she didn't dare to make any sound, only kowtowing repeatedly. Her smooth forehead quickly left spots of blood on the ground.
"Get out!" Black Bear cursed furiously. Then he grabbed the other girl and threw her out the door as well. "Tell Hyena to come in!"
"Yes." The two girls didn't dare to say more, scrambling to their feet and running out of the door. Soon, a burly figure walked into the hall.
This was a very strong man, naked to the waist like Black Bear, revealing dense scars. The original Hyena had been killed by Blood Eyes, and this big man was the replacement. He was also the most capable thug in Shelter No. 1. After Black Bear conquered this place, he became Black Bear's direct subordinate. He had a very violent personality and liked to cut his opponents into pieces little by little, taking pleasure in listening to their wails.
"Boss, you called me?" The big man said carelessly as he walked into the hall. A long scar on his face trembled as he spoke, looking like a wriggling earthworm. It was indescribably terrifying.
But Black Bear liked this guy very much. Although he wasn't as smart as the original Hyena, he was more powerful and could solve many problems for him that he was too lazy to pay attention to.
"Yeah." Black Bear walked back and forth on the ground irritably, then suddenly pointed to the armchair beside him. "Sit."
"Hey, thank you, Boss." Hyena happily saluted, then sat down obediently. But his eyes were fixed on Black Bear, filled with a bloodthirsty desire, as if he could go out and chop people as long as Black Bear gave the order.
But today, Black Bear's attention didn't seem to be on him. Instead, he paced around anxiously. After a while, he opened the liquor cabinet, took out a bottle of strong liquor and threw it to Hyena. He also opened a bottle and gulped it down. The golden liquor flowed down Black Bear's chin. When the entire bottle was empty, Black Bear threw down the bottle and sat down cursing. His eyes were already bloodshot, startling Hyena.
"Hyena, how many men do we have now?"
"Ah, we already have more than a hundred people. All of them are good hands." Hyena quickly replied. By 'good hands' he meant the most capable and ruthless thugs. In terms of combat power, they were indeed much stronger than Black Bear's original subordinates.
But Black Bear didn't seem satisfied enough. He scratched his bald head irritably, looking dissatisfied. "How come there are only a hundred or so? I remember it was the same number last month."
"That's because we fought several times with the gangs outside this month. Although they were all small-scale skirmishes, the losses were not small. Boss, since our water treatment system was repaired, this place has become a piece of fat in the eyes of the surrounding gangs. Everyone wants to take a bite."
"Dream on!" Black Bear roared in anger. "The water treatment system was set up for me by Lord Kester. In addition to being enough for us to use, all the excess water must be given to Lord Kester as tribute. Do those damn bastards dare to covet Lord Kester's property?"
"Of course they don't dare." Hyena replied cautiously, while watching Black Bear's face. "But they dare to covet our property. As long as they kill us, they can also occupy this place and gain Lord Kester's approval."
"Bullshit! Do they think my armor is just for show?" Black Bear roared angrily, his eyes filled with violent red light. Even Hyena didn't dare to look directly at his imposing manner, and hurriedly lowered his head.
But the target of Black Bear's anger was not him, but someone he never expected. When it came to courage in the face of armor, Black Bear could only think of Blood Eyes, that terrifying character who dared to face him with only a pair of gauntlets and left a fist mark on his chest.
Fortunately, he was already dead. Such an injury... he definitely wouldn't survive in the wild. Black Bear thought to himself, feeling much better. So he took a deep breath, revealing a sinister smile. "The situation has been unstable recently, it seems we've been too merciful. In a while, you call a few people to kill all the prisoners captured yesterday and display them outside the shelter as human pillars. I believe those guys will definitely like it. Also, I heard that many people inside the shelter have been causing trouble these days, deal with them all."
"Okay, Boss." Hyena's eyes lit up when he heard about the killing, and he hurriedly agreed.
Both of them were violent people, and they were very interested in talking about such bloody deeds. But before they could be excited for long, a subordinate rushed in anxiously and shouted loudly. "Boss, something bad has happened. Another group of newcomers is attacking us, and many brothers have been injured."
"Newcomers?" Black Bear was stunned, and stood up abruptly. "Not the ones from yesterday?"
"No." The subordinate hurriedly replied, his face flustered. "They are new faces, but some brothers recognized some guys from the eastern gathering point."
"The eastern gathering point, why would they come here?" Black Bear frowned in confusion, but soon sneered. "That's good, I need some prey to demonstrate my power. They delivered themselves to my door."
He laughed wildly and walked out of the villa. Several bandits were already waiting in the courtyard, all holding brand-new old-era rifles. When they saw Black Bear appear, they all let out ear-piercing howls. Hyena followed closely behind Black Bear, also wearing a sneer on his face. The group got into the off-road vehicle in the courtyard and roared out. In a short while, they arrived at the entrance of the shelter. It was already a mess.
On the wilderness outside the shelter, more than a dozen motorcycles were weaving at high speed, the riders howling and firing old-era rifles at the shelter. Their weapons were good, and their marksmanship was very accurate, suppressing Black Bear's men so they couldn't raise their heads. But Black Bear's arrival greatly boosted the morale of his men. A burst of fire swept over, instantly shooting down several riders, scaring the other riders into quickly expanding the encirclement.
This was a common wolf pack tactic in the wasteland. Raiders were best at this. They relied on motorcycles to move at high speed, swarming up as soon as they found an opportunity. And when attacked, they scattered in all directions.
"Damn it, how dare they challenge my shelter with this kind of courage?" Black Bear sneered, stepping on the frame of the off-road vehicle. His contempt was evident on his face. "They don't even dare to enter, do they think they can occupy my territory just by relying on wolf pack tactics? Do they think the shelter is the caravan of the Traveling Troupe?"
"Hehe, maybe their brains are flooded." Hyena laughed beside him, dangling a narrow hunting knife in his hand. The scar on his face twitched, indescribably ferocious.
But neither of them noticed that the riders on the opposite side seemed to breathe a sigh of relief when they saw them appear. The howling grew louder and louder, but the encirclement became looser and looser, as if they were ready to escape at any time.
At the same time, at the top of an abandoned high-rise building not far behind Black Bear, a figure slowly stood up.
It was Blood Eyes.
Blood Eyes stood on the windy rooftop, coldly watching the battlefield below. These raiders he had forced to come here along the way had done a good job. But their value ended here. Having lured out Black Bear, the rest was his job. Looking at the burly figure below who was still arrogant, Blood Eyes couldn't hide the deep hatred rising in his eyes. He stretched out his left hand, and the short shotgun on his leg leaped into his palm.
From his current angle, Black Bear was practically defenseless to him. As long as he pulled the trigger, that ugly man would be riddled with steel pellets, like rotten meat that had been run over by a truck countless times.
But... Blood Eyes didn't want to let him off so easily.
With a 'click', the shotgun was thrown on the ground by Blood Eyes, and piece by piece of equipment was removed by Blood Eyes, until he only had the ceramic combat suit left on his body. Then Blood Eyes took a deep breath, moved his hands and feet, and after making a slight gesture, jumped directly from the roof.
In mid-air, he rolled over, making a head-down, feet-up posture. Immediately following was a low shout. "Armor, Feet!"
A blue light flashed on his calf, and the armored foot components instantly grew out of his body. Immediately following, Blood Eyes tapped his toes and kicked backwards in mid-air.
Only a muffled sound of 'bang' was heard from below his feet, as if he had really kicked on solid ground. His whole person was instantly propelled as fast as a bullet. In just a breath, he landed on the ground. Upon landing, he suddenly curled up, then stretched out like a spring.
With a loud 'boom!', the hard cement ground shattered under his feet, erupting with violent smoke and dust, but Blood Eyes, like a black panther entering a hunting state, pounced out...
