Colonial Suit
#1178 - Aftermath
In the vast and boundless void, wreckage of starships and Death Stars littered the expanse.
The war was over...
After a terrible, even heart-wrenching cost, the Human Alliance had finally achieved victory. Large numbers of Boca and Sasa ships surrendered and, under the watchful eyes of human warships, entered surrender orbit. Beneath their deactivated shields were the massive hulls and dense scars of these ships, as if recounting the brutality of the war.
Yet, even more striking than these ships were the Boca and Sasa powerhouses themselves.
Due to their immense power, their supervision could not be entrusted to ordinary individuals; only Cosmic Warriors were up to the task. In an instant, countless figures shot out from the human fleet, surrounding these surrendered powerhouses. No one spoke, but the Boca and Sasa powerhouses seemed to know their fate, voluntarily laying down their weapons.
They were cosmic nobles and saw no need to fight to the death. If humanity wished to continue negotiations with the Boca and Sasa, their treatment had to be prioritized.
In the void, Miji'er silently watched these powerhouses surrendering, a flicker of disgust and resentment suddenly flashing in her eyes. She couldn't explain where these feelings came from, but they were inexplicably there, as if only killing them could quell the rage in her heart...
Just then, a human mercenary flew over from afar and bowed respectfully to Miji'er and Muse.
"Your Majesty Miji'er, Your Majesty Muse."
"What is it?" Muse asked absentmindedly, his gaze fixed with concern on Miji'er, sensing something was off with her.
"Speaker Salchons has asked me to inquire about your opinions on the disposition of the Boca and Sasa Cosmic Warriors. They have completely surrendered and pledged to renounce violence. If necessary, they can sign an agreement and become allies of our forces in future wars, serving in battles not targeting their own race."
"Oh?" Muse was slightly taken aback. Their sacrifice was considerable… such conditions practically abandoned the dignity of Cosmic Warriors. Moreover, it indirectly increased the strength of the Human Alliance. These Boca and Sasa warriors were not to be trifled with, and surviving on the battlefield until now was proof of their strength. As for the condition of not attacking their own race, they could simply attack other races. What did it matter?
Since Speaker Salchons was asking for his opinion, Muse wouldn't hold back. After a moment of contemplation, he said, "If their sincerity can be confirmed, then my opinion is…"
"Kill them all!"
"What?" Muse suddenly stammered, turning to Miji'er. "What did you say?"
"Kill them all!" Miji'er repeated, undisguised disgust in her eyes. "I don't want to see a single Boca alive."
"But Miji'er…" Muse felt a headache coming on, barely managing to persuade, "There's no need to be so drastic, they still have value…"
"If you don't want to do it, then I will." Miji'er interrupted Muse without ceremony, her hazy eyes turning to him. "Or are you going to stop me?"
"Oh… no!" Muse immediately surrendered. Opposing Miji'er in her crazed state was madness itself. The stubborn Miji'er was unreasonable, and in this world, no one had ever been able to change Miji'er's decisions. 'Never'…
In the void, Miji'er's figure flashed and disappeared, followed by exclamations of shock from the Boca and Sasa powerhouses in the distance. Countless energies erupted, and various severed limbs and broken bodies shot out in all directions, turning the containment zone into a slaughterhouse. Even from Muse's distance, he could clearly see Miji'er's frenzied slaughter. Her white-robed figure slaughtered thousands in an instant, crushing Boca and Sasa powerhouses into pieces.
Senseless and utterly cruel.
Muse didn't understand why Miji'er was doing this, but he always felt… it seemed… like she was venting… but what was she venting?
"Let her be. Anyway, no one can stop her," Muse consoled himself, turning and leaving…
The war ended. Human engineering fleets began to enter in batches, collecting ship wreckage and clearing battlefield debris. Strange-looking ships constantly shuttled through the void, collecting parts needed by the human fleet and sorting through salvageable wreckage. At the same time, the medical ships were overcrowded, filled with figures waiting for treatment.
Blood, tendons, broken wounds, shattered bone fragments and blood vessels… every warrior sent into the medical bay was horrifically injured, like a battered rag doll. No war is righteous, and even for the right to survive, humanity had to pay an even greater price…
This war had nearly exhausted all of humanity's strength, wiping out millennia of accumulated resources. Not only were most of the ordinary ships lost, but more than half of the Cosmic Warriors were killed or wounded, and the loss of top-tier combat power was even more severe. If it weren't for the entry of the Blood瞳's Crodir Legion, humanity would have been done for…
But now… having achieved victory, they were preparing for the next advance.
"Hurry, we only have three hours." Salchons stood with his hands behind his back in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, ordering his deputy. He liked this posture, as if he had been standing there for countless years. Yet, it also felt like it was the first time, a strange sense of contradiction that made him uncomfortable and somewhat lost.
However, as Speaker, he was already well-versed in commanding the entire human fleet and knew what to do without much thought.
"Clear the battlefield and establish the Naraku Gate's orbit. In three hours, we will enter the next layer."
"But Speaker, this time frame…"
"I don't need reasons. I only need results," Salchons interrupted his deputy, speaking seriously. "It must be done."
"Understood," the deputy took a deep breath and replied loudly.
Seeing his firm and powerful demeanor, Salchons was somewhat distracted. Why… did this scene feel so familiar? As if a long time ago, he had also been executing every order like this. An… damn it, who issued the order?
He couldn't remember… his head hurt.
At the same time, on the Twilight of the Gods, Blood瞳 silently opened his intelligent brain and entered 'Montberto' as a keyword. The results were invariably blank.
As Blood瞳 expected, all traces related to the name Montberto had disappeared, as if he had never existed. Whether it was war logs, history, or cultural records, there was no longer any mention of Montberto, and even the real-world industries related to the Montberto family had been naturally replaced with new owners.
What great power this was!
Closing his eyes, Blood瞳 lit a cigarette for himself and silently recalled the last scene. The mysterious tide that swept across the universe, the collective amnesia of everyone, and the old Speaker's final sacrifice.
This was the power of fate…
Completely different from Alpha's pseudo-fate, more advanced and absolute. (To be continued ~^~)
PS: Transition chapter, also wish everyone a Happy New Year. Unfortunately, Xiao Dao has to work on both New Year's Day and New Year's Eve… it's been three years of New Year's Eve shifts… so painful.
