Colonial Suit

#1150 - Lazy

Light beams rained down in the starry sky, as a figure flashed between them, appearing kilometers away one moment and instantly teleporting the next, as elusive as a ghost.

However, anyone who could see his face at that moment would notice that he was drenched in sweat, his veins bulging.

"Damn it, he's really hard to deal with!" Zar cursed under his breath, flashing another distance away. At the same time, the spot where he had been twisted suddenly, pierced by a beam of light. Zar's hair stood on end.

He knew that the guy chasing him hadn't given up yet, and he was still in danger.

In reality, he was just a Comet-class mercenary, far from qualified to participate in such intense combat. But this was an all-out war for humanity, and even a 'small fry' like him had to take part. Ordinary people had ordinary tasks, and mercenaries had their duties. Zar was specifically responsible for sniping enemies who threatened the ships, protecting friendly warships.

Logically speaking, this kind of mission wasn't too dangerous, because the enemy wouldn't send real powerhouses on such tasks. He would only face 'small fry' of the same level. Unfortunately, Zar was out of luck. This time, he was facing a Boca Arbiter. Also at the Comet-class level, the Boca Arbiter was much harder to deal with than the Sasa Conqueror. Because Conquerors were just a bunch of quickly produced modified beings, while Arbiters were elite warriors like him. Not only did they possess Laws, but through the Boca's 'legacy technology' and magic-armor system, they inherited the experience and skills of their predecessors, as well as terrifying 'Mega-Abilities'.

He was being threatened by that Arbiter's 'Mega-Ability', forcing him to flee in a sorry state.

That Mega-Ability was called 'Magic Mirror,' a relatively common but very powerful Boca ability. Simply put, it formed an invisible 'refraction plane' within a certain range, altering the path of magic-powered beams. The danger lay in the fact that refraction could not only change the direction and speed of the beams, but also penetrate into anti-space and bounce back from any point within the range, making it difficult to predict and sense. Coupled with the amplification of magic-powered beams by this refraction, even an elite mercenary like Zar couldn't handle it.

Damn it, he was only Comet-class, barely able to enter the threshold of space combat. How could he fight such a dangerous enemy? If his own ability wasn't 'Shimmer,' he would have been killed countless times already.

In the starry sky, Zar desperately accelerated… constantly changing direction. He felt like he was about to give out. He had been out for too long, and the enemy's relentless pursuit had forced him to use Shimmer constantly, causing his internal energy to nearly dry up. He could no longer fight, and if he couldn't get supplies and rest immediately, his life would come to an end. But he had no choice, he had to persevere, and even felt fortunate that he could draw the attention of this terrifying Boca warrior, luring him away from friendly warships.

"Come on!"

"Daddy's not afraid of you!"

Zar roared loudly, dodging another beam of light. He was now at his limit, but he still maintained high-speed movement, not slowing down even a fraction. He had to keep fighting, even if only for a minute, a second of delay, it would be enough to contribute to this war. This was the duty of a mercenary, a realization he had made since leaving his home planet.

The starry sky was vast, filled with war and clusters of energy. Zar seemed very small, almost unnoticed. And the terrifying enemy chasing him seemed to be tired of it and was preparing to leave.

Just then, Zar suddenly shouted, his entire body disappearing into the void, reappearing at another coordinate far away. He grabbed a man in golden armor.

Anti-space Deep Shimmer!!

This was an outburst beyond Zar's level. In reality, it was less than a second, but Zar's body was covered in wounds, with large amounts of blood spraying out, forming a dense cloud of blood mist.

In the blood mist, Zar held the golden-armored man tightly, his face contorted.

"Got you!"

The golden-armored man was stunned for a moment, then revealed a cold smile. "Hmph, lowly ant. Do you think this can stop me? Let me show you what true power is."

As he spoke, the void around him twisted, and dozens of 'Magic Mirrors' appeared, surging with the light of magic-powered cannons.

Zar was desperate. He didn't expect this Boca warrior to be so powerful, not even at the Comet-class level, but Meteor-class! With his strength, he couldn't even stop the opponent for a moment, let alone kill him. No wonder he couldn't shake off the opponent, who was just toying with him.

But even so, he never gave up, only parted his lips, revealing bloodshot teeth and smiling.

"Even if I can't kill you, I can still wear you down."

As he spoke, energy surged in his chest, and he mobilized his remaining strength to self-destruct. As a low-level warrior, this was his only way to show his defiance.

A strange look flashed in the golden-armored man's eyes, but he didn't stop him. This kind of self-destruction was useless to him. Zar's level was too low after all, and his energy level couldn't threaten his safety. But just then, a flash of black light streaked past, and he suddenly froze. A small black dot appeared in the middle of his brow, and then with a bang, his head exploded. Light spirit fragments scattered like exploding starlight, splashing all over Zar's head and face.

Zar was startled, nearly losing control of his energy. When he looked again, the Boca warrior who had been threatening him had already lost his head, beyond dead.

Looking in the direction of the black light, Zar immediately saw a unique figure. It was a human man wearing a black trench coat, looking very 'cool.' But under the trench coat, he was only wearing a pair of shorts, revealing a pair of hairy legs, and tattered slippers on his feet.

This man was looking over here, and when he saw Zar's actions, he grinned and yawned. "Little guy has some backbone. Want something to eat?"

As he spoke, he threw a few things into his mouth and casually flicked a few over to Zar.

Zar took one and was immediately stunned…

They were actually a few peas.

Coupled with the previous black light, Zar was immediately terrified. This black-clothed man actually killed that terrifying Boca warrior with just a pea.

"You… you are…"

Zar's voice trembled. He couldn't imagine how powerful this black-clothed man was, and why he would help him. Weren't the top human powerhouses all intercepting the opponent's high-end forces? Why would he be here? No, wait, that black trench coat, those sloppy shorts and tattered slippers. In a flash of inspiration, Zar suddenly remembered someone, a guy who was considered a legend among humans.

Thinking of this, he exclaimed the name.

"You are Qutolo! Your Highness, Qutolo!!"

The Last of the Seven Light Palaces.
