Colonial Suit

#1114 - Eat when you are hungry

In the ship's cabin, Blood瞳 gasped for breath, his fists clenched tightly. Veins bulged on his temples, as if he were suffering the most agonizing torture. Black energy, like a mist, poured out from his emaciated body, frantically repelling everything around him. Its terror was such that even the void seemed unable to bear it, and spiderweb-like cracks appeared repeatedly...

It was the power of the Abyss, a rule truly incompatible with the universe.

"It hurts so much..."

Blood瞳 gritted his teeth, blood seeping through the gaps. He had tried his best to suppress it, but he still couldn't stop the power from overflowing. As a child of the Abyss, he was essentially one with the Abyss, but for some reason, the Abyssal power within him had gone berserk today, like a ravenous beast spotting its prey, emitting an unimaginable hunger.

Blood瞳 didn't know how to satisfy this hunger, but he knew that if this continued, his body would collapse...

This shell, still containing elements of the positive universe, could not bear the true power of the Abyss.

"Give me... some quiet..." In the black mist, Blood瞳's voice was squeezed out from between his teeth, filled with infinite ferocity. The cruelty and bloodthirst made everyone in the cabin tremble with fear, and several clone crew members fainted, their eyes rolling back.

These crew members were clones specially equipped for Blood瞳 by the Speaker, with the lowest level reaching Meteor. It was unbelievable that Blood瞳 could frighten them into unconsciousness with just a word. But this was reality. The current Blood瞳 was no longer the little hunter struggling in the x35 apocalypse. He was a true warrior, a powerful being who could influence the balance of the universe and the rise and fall of races.

In the distant era of great chaos, his existence would have been enough to support a civilization.

"Blood瞳, are you alright?"

Little Bo Xi slid down from the wall, and her first action was to run to Blood瞳's side, but she didn't dare touch his body.

As a companion, she naturally knew Blood瞳's condition, and she also knew how dangerous he was when he acted up. So, she could only watch, anxiously and worriedly.

The cabin door opened, and Robbie and Mia also walked in, their pupils shrinking when they saw this scene.

Robbie was alright, but Little Mia screamed and ran over, seeing Little Bo Xi covered in blood, and assuming she was seriously injured. In fact, Little Bo Xi only had some skin and flesh injuries from the impact of the Abyssal power, which had already healed on their own.

"I'm fine. It's Blood瞳 who's in trouble," Little Bo Xi hugged her sister, explaining anxiously. "He seems to be losing control..."

Not seems like, he definitely is. Robbie's face was grim, and he stared unblinkingly at the constantly expanding and contracting black mist. He said in a serious tone, "This power... is beyond my ability to handle."

"What do we do then?" Little Bo Xi's voice was on the verge of tears. Robbie had just entered the Black Hole level, and was currently the strongest among their companions. If even he couldn't do anything, didn't that mean Blood瞳 was in danger?

Perhaps, her worries were not without reason, but they were still a little far from the truth.

Blood瞳's condition was very special, and rather than being in danger, it was more like... hunger.

He was hungry.

Not his body, but his soul, the part that belonged to the Abyss.

As a part of Blood瞳, the Abyss had never been so agitated as it was now. In the past, the Abyss had always slumbered quietly within his body. Even when it occasionally awakened, it was because of Blood瞳's call, but this time it was different. It hadn't awakened normally, and the only reason it had awakened was...

Food.

Food that belonged to the Abyss.

This food would allow the Abyss to grow and strengthen. It was also a memory that was deeply ingrained in the Abyss and could never be lost...

Extreme Calamity!

No one knew that this dangerous and terrifying creature, which was found deep within the Naraku, was actually not simple. It did not belong to the normal rules, and it was not even from this universe. Its true identity was a derivative of another universe.

As everyone knew, if the universe was regarded as a unit, infinitely large and infinitely small, then the concept of parallel universes and upper and lower universes would be established, thereby forming a vast and infinitely expanding system. The upper universe determined fate, and the lower universe determined survival. And Extreme Calamity was a 'traveler' in this system, derived from one universe and appearing in another.

A ghost in the gaps between universe systems.

How could such an existence not excite and hunger the Abyss?

It should be known that, as a collection of rules, the Abyss considered Extreme Calamity to be the best food. The rules of another universe contained within it were extremely important for the growth of the Abyss. It could even affect the Abyss's breakthrough. From a certain perspective, the Abyss was another universe, or the back of the universe, opposing and relying on the normal universe. The addition of any extra rules was equal to a weight on the scale of power, affecting the progress of the universe. (In essence, the Abyss was also a part of the universe, but belonged to the opposing camp.)

And Blood瞳, as the spokesperson for the Abyss, would undoubtedly bear this direct impact.

Hunger.

Unparalleled, extreme hunger.

The Abyss was not a sentient being, and it would not clearly express its meaning to Blood瞳 in a logical manner. It would only transmit information to Blood瞳 in the manner of biological instinct. As for whether Blood瞳 would understand...

What did it have to do with it?

So, in the ship's cabin, even though Blood瞳 was in extreme pain, he still couldn't understand the Abyss's consciousness, until he saw a fleeting flash of black light, and then he suddenly woke up.

"Accelerate the ship! Disengage from the formation!! Full speed!!"

"What!?" Not only the twin siblings, but even Robbie was surprised. They couldn't understand Blood瞳's orders, but they knew what the consequences of this order would be.

Leaving the human fleet, wouldn't that mean they would become wandering 'orphans' in the Naraku?

But no amount of doubt could compare to the deep-rooted trust between companions, so in just a few seconds, the Twilight of the Gods, like a wild horse, pierced out of the human fleet and disappeared into the vast void.

Looking at its fleeting speck of light, the Speaker's gaze narrowed slightly.

"Did you receive a request from it to disengage from the formation?"

"No, Your Excellency," Salch Jones replied. Although the Speaker had ordered all high-speed battleships to disengage from the fleet for wide-area reconnaissance, people were different. As the new generation of human powerhouses and the seeds of civilization's future, Blood瞳 and his companions obviously received the most special treatment. All missions would only be dispatched with their consent, otherwise they would be considered invalid.

This was the privilege granted to Blood瞳 by the Speaker, and no one could change it.

But why would he suddenly disengage from the formation? Salch Jones couldn't figure it out either.

Instead, the Speaker suddenly revealed a thoughtful smile.

"It seems we don't need to worry so much."

In front of the floor-to-ceiling window, the Speaker's gaze was cast towards the distant void, as if he could see through the truth of the universe.

"This is our luck, Salch Jones, we must cherish it..."
