Chapter 322 – My Daughter Is Likely A Green Tea (part 11)

Li Su didn’t speak, but hugged Su Jingwan tenderly. She let Su Jingwan cry in her arms.

Aunt Zhao thoughtfully hid in the kitchen until Su Jingwan calmed down before coming out. While Su Jing’an was busy helping Yang Luoluo with her homework, he was so angry that he was about to faint. He did not know what was going on outside.

Seeing that Su Jingwan stopped crying. Li Su helped her wipe away her tears. “Mum, mum, I’m sorry. I, I won’t do it anymore,” Su Jingwan said while sobbing.

At the beginning, Su Jingwan didn’t think there was anything wrong with what she did. She didn’t ask for it, and Yang Lulu took the initiative to give it to her. She just couldn’t refuse the kindness of her good friend. But she didn’t expect that her mother knew exactly what she was hiding. What was even more unexpected was that, not only did her mother not blame her, she was not angry with her either.

Su Jingwan still didn’t feel that she did something wrong, but she knew that she had put a lot of burdens on her mother by doing so, and that this was a mistake.

Li Su smiled. “Stupid child. There is nothing to be sorry for. Seriously speaking, it’s your mother who should apologise to you. She failed to buy you a piano early on and failed to let you continue playing piano.”

“No, mum, it’s my fault. I was too greedy! I’ll tell Lulu to take the piano away.” Su Jingwan had almost calmed down.

“Why get rid of it? Mum was going to buy you a piano. Now it’s good. Everything has been settled!” Li Su said with a smile. “Go and see how Luoluo is doing with her homework. If she has not finished, she can continue after dinner.”

“Mom, the money…” Su Jingwan bit her lip and said.

“It’s okay. Mum has taken on some private work, so you don’t have to worry about the money,” Li Su said.

Su Jingwan bit her lip. She decided that she couldn’t let her mother make money alone. She had to do something to make up for her mistakes. Su Jingwan took out her cell phone, found Zhao Yiyan, a classmate from a poor family, and asked her if she could do something that would not affect her studies to earn some money.

Su Jingwan’s popularity in the class had always been very good. She belonged to the category of a goddess. Zhao Yiyan also had a good relationship with her and immediately introduced her to several jobs, such as distributing leaflets after school or on the weekend, or wearing costumes to attract customers.

After it was over, she asked her if she had encountered any difficulties. If so, she could tell her. She still had some money and could lend her some in an emergency.

Su Jingwan thanked Zhao Yiyan first, then declined the other party’s offer to borrow money. She made an appointment to try out a job with her after school the next day.

The next day, Su Jingwan went to school. When class was over, she gave Yang Lulu the 4,000 yuan that her mother gave her last night, plus the 3,000 that she had in her hand. She told Yang Lulu of her and her mother’s decision. “Lulu, if you still treat me as a friend, accept the money. I will return the remaining 92,500 to you in monthly installments.”

Holding the wad of money, Yang Lulu frowned. “Jingwan, what are you doing?! Don’t you still treat me as a friend?”

“It’s because I regard you as a friend that I can’t ask for your piano for nothing. This is what my mother means,” Su Jingwan said seriously.

Yang Lulu was really speechless. “You really… Why are you so stubborn?”

“Lulu, take the money! You are my best friend. I don’t want our relationship to be mixed with other things,” Su Jingwan said.

Yang Lulu had no choice but to accept the money. She thought that she would save the money for Jingwan and give it to Jingwan later if she needed it. “Okay, then I’ll accept it. But, didn’t your family just buy a house? Where did you get the money from?”

“My mother found a part-time job. I plan to distribute leaflets after school or on weekends. I can earn a little money and help my mother and reduce her burden. I have made arrangements with Yiyan. She will take me there after school.” Su Jingwan saw Yang Lulu receive the money and she lowered her eyes.

“What did you say you are doing? So, it’s all my fault.” Yang Lulu became anxious when she heard this.

“Lulu, don’t say that. Actually, I’m very happy. I’ve always wanted to have a piano… I have to thank you!” Su Jingwan quickly explained.

“I know. I know. That’s why I gave you the old piano. I didn’t expect… Alas, auntie is too serious. We are friends!” Yang Lulu sighed.

“I think my mother is right.” Su Jingwan smiled gently.

“Yes, yes, in your heart, what auntie does is right. Come on. I’ll accompany you to distribute leaflets later. The money is yours and I will experience something new,” Yang Lulu said.

“Thank you, Lulu!” Su Jingwan was a little moved. She knew that Yang Lulu did this for her.

“Okay, we are good friends! Of course we have to do everything together!” Yang Lulu said with a smile.

After school that afternoon, Su Jingwan and Yang Lulu followed Zhao Yiyan to distribute leaflets. Zhao Yiyan had other part-time jobs today, so she took them there. After negotiating the salary with the boss, she told Su Jingwan a few words and left first.

They mainly distributed leaflets for a newly opened hot pot restaurant. If a customer took the leaflet to eat, the two of them would get a commission.

Su Jingwan went from being shy at the beginning to being calm and composed later. She gently held the flyer. “Chuanshu Renjia Hot Pot Restaurant has newly opened. Get 20% off card purchases. Buy 500 yuan worth and get 50 yuan off. Come take a look!”

Yang Lulu couldn’t do it and stood beside Su Jingwan expressionlessly.

Maybe it was because of their good looks, but some people took the initiative to pick up leaflets. Many people went in to eat.

The two of them dispersed leaflets from 5:30 to 7:30. Two hours later, Su Jingwan and Yang Lulu got the money. In addition to the basic salary of 20 yuan, there was an additional commission of 50 yuan. The owner of the hot pot restaurant was very cheerful. “Actually, you can earn more by distributing leaflets at night, but you are students so you mainly study. Will you come tomorrow? If you come, I will give you a raise, 15 yuan an hour!”

Su Jingwan nodded with a smile. “Okay, I’ll come back tomorrow.”

On the way back, Yang Lulu weighed the money in her hand and couldn’t help but complain. “After standing for more than two hours, I only made 70 yuan. It is not enough for a meal. It’s too hard to make money!”

Su Jingwan counted the 70 yuan over and over again. “It’s already very good. It’s only the first day, and I made 70 yuan. If I can earn this much every day in the future, it will be more than 2,000 yuan a month!”

Yang Lulu gave her a blank look and put the 70 yuan in her hand into Su Jingwan’s hand. “As long as you are happy. Return quickly!”

Su Jingwan tried to return the money. “Lulu, take it back! This is the first money you have earned with your own hands. It has meaning.”

Yang Lulu rolled her eyes. “Come on! We agreed that I’m just here to accompany you. I would give you the money I earn. It’s only seventy yuan. What’s the point?! Put it away quickly. Don’t turn around and throw it away later!”

Su Jingwan had no choice but to take the money back.

When the two went back, everyone was waiting for them to eat. Aunt Zhao said, “You’re back. Wash your hands and eat quickly.” Yang Lulu was also polite, and took the reluctant Yang Luoluo home after eating.

Li Su didn’t get home until after 10pm. When she came back, Su Jingwan heard the movement immediately and quickly put down the book and came out. “Mum, you are back? Are you hungry? Let me cook a bowl of noodles for you.”

“No need, I ate outside.” Li Su said with a smile. “It’s almost 11, why haven’t you slept yet? Were you waiting for me? I’ve been a little busy these days, so don’t wait for me!”

“I was reading and I’m going to sleep now.” Su Jingwan poured Li Su a cup of tea. Li Su took it and drank it in one gulp.

“Mum, what have you been up to recently? Is it hard work?” Su Jingwan stood behind Li Su, rubbing her shoulders.

“I’m helping people design advertisements. I’ve been staying in Internet cafes. It’s not hard work. It’s just that I stare at the computer for a long time and my eyes are very sore,” Li Su said. This work was not very hard, but sometimes she encountered some serious people. For customers, one advertising picture could be reworked more than 10 times.

“Then let me make a cup of chrysanthemum and wolfberry tea for you!” Su Jingwan turned around to make tea.

Li Su quickly called for her to stop. “Don’t bother. I’m going to bed soon. I don’t want to drink so much tea. Go to bed quickly! You have to go to school tomorrow morning!”

Su Jingwan thought for a while. “I’ll take out the chrysanthemum and wolfberry and make a cup of tea for mum tomorrow morning. You can take it to work?”

“Okay, I’m going to take a shower. Go to bed if you have nothing to do!” Li Su stood up.

The mother and daughter worked hard on their own. At the end of the month, Li Su took another 3,000 yuan and handed it to Su Jingwan, asking her to return it to Yang Lulu.

Su Jingwan also took out 2,500 yuan and put it together.

Li Su looked at her. “Did you get a part-time job?”

Su Jingwan smiled. “Yes, I went out to distribute leaflets after school and on weekends. It was usually 10 yuan an hour, and 90 yuan a day on weekends. Lulu also went with me a few times and all the money she earned, she gave to me. It totals 2,500 yuan! Mum, don’t worry. It hasn’t affected my studies and I’m still number one in this unit test.”

Li Su looked at the money and smiled. She was not short of money. She just wanted to take this opportunity to let Su Jingwan understand something. Now it seemed that Jingwan had done a good job.

“No wonder your Grandma Zhao said that you came back late every night during this time. So that was the reason why. Jingwan, your mother is very happy that you can do this, but you are still a student now. You have to focus on studying, and sleep is important. Just go out to distribute leaflets when you have time on weekends. Don’t go from Monday to Friday. Be obedient!” Li Su said, touching Su Jingwan’s small face. No wonder her little face had darkened.

“Got it mum! Mum, I’m very happy to be able to help! Really!” Su Jingwan laughed.

“Mum is also very happy!” Li Su laughed.

When she came back at night, Li Su handed Su Jingwan a paper bag.

“Mum, what is this?” Su Jingwan curiously opened the paper bag and looked inside. Inside was a set of skin care products, sunscreen, and makeup remover. Su Jingwan looked up at Li Su in surprise. “Mum?” Isn’t it too early to to be using these now? She had been using baby cream before, which was very moisturising.

“You are not young anymore. The set mum bought for you is all natural and has no chemical additives. It is suitable for your age. As for the mask, don’t use it often. Just use it once a week. But, you have to use this sunscreen. It seems that you have gotten darker this month. But remember, after using sunscreen, remember to remove your makeup. Otherwise it will remain on your face and it will be bad for your skin.” Li Su smiled.

Su Jingwan was a little excited, but also a little scared. “Mum, is it suitable for me to use now?” She knew that Lulu had been using skin care products since the sixth grade, but she never thought about using it herself. On the one hand, she felt that she was naturally beautiful, and she could be just as beautiful without skin care products. On the other hand, she was afraid that her mother would think that she paid attention to this sort of thing at a young age and would consider her to be frivolous.

In fact, during this period of time, she also noticed that she was tanning. She secretly made some homemade facial masks at home, hoping that she could go back to having whiter skin. Unexpectedly, her mother took the initiative to buy it for her.
