15. Is this the end?

Gildia approaches, clicking his heels.

He looks down at me, lying on my back, and lets out a sigh.

“Haah…”

His voice echoes unnaturally.

Gildia continues,

“It took this long to deal with someone like you, and yet I still sustained injuries…”

After Gildia surveyed his own appearance,

he looked down at me with disdain.

“You seem to have gained the trust of those magic-less fools in just one day,

but that was merely a trick played on you by the scum.”

My expression hardened at his words.

Seeing this, Gildia narrowed his eyes.

“Well, fine.”

After glancing up once, Gildia continued,

“I’ll say this much: they must have already escaped, right?”

At that, my body moved instinctively,

and I raised my upper body,

kneeling on one knee.

“They trust no one but their comrades,

and they will ruthlessly cut down anyone else.”

I held my shield low,

holding my breath as I waited for the right moment.

We jumped back at the sound of that voice.

In an instant, a crater formed in the ground.

“Hey, is this for real?”

Gora lets out a voice

Gildia’s face is swollen, and it seems like one of his eyes is not visible

Yet the determination burning in his remaining eye is fierce

“You scum… how dare you confront me!”

Gildia glares at us with his eyes

We make brief eye contact and dash forward simultaneously. At the same moment, Gildia moves as well

I grip my shield like a knuckle duster

Gora uses body enhancement to clench his fist

Gildia counters with his own fists

And then my shield and Gora’s fist collide with Gildia’s fists

The shield, weakened by magic, cannot withstand the force

It gets knocked back, flying towards the warehouse

Gildia and Gora are both sent flying, having canceled each other out

A distance forms between us all

I quickly glance at Gora and say

“Let’s go, Gora!” “Leave it to me! Elg!”

Gora and I dash forward at the same time

Gildia takes a defensive stance and declares

“I am fast”

Gora steps forward, feigning a wide swing, then launches an uppercut from below

Gildia deflects it and unleashes a flurry of strikes to Gora’s face. But Gora does not flinch

I glance sideways and head to retrieve the fallen shield

Noticing my intent, Gildia tries to come towards me, but Gora quickly blocks his path

Gora swings his fist, aiming to strike Gildia, but Gildia narrowly dodges at the last moment.

Thanks to the time Gora bought me, I manage to retrieve my shield, but my magical power is completely depleted.

Gildia bends down to dodge the ＜Shield Slash＞, but instead of a slash, I hear something flying through the air and a catch.

Gildia looks back and sees Gora catching the shield.

He immediately throws it back at Gildia, who instinctively dodges it in mid-air.

I catch the shield and unleash the ＜Shield Slash＞.

“This is the end!”

“What! ＜I’m tough＞!”

I lose my balance and strike Gildia’s abdomen with the ＜Shield Slash＞ as he tries to defend himself.

Gildia is sent flying, collapsing onto his back.

“W-What… this… weakling…!”

With that, Gildia loses consciousness.

I collapse to the ground, overwhelmed by fatigue and the feeling of victory.
