Black Myth: Journey to the West – Simulate Becoming Immortal!

Chapter 95: Zen Master Wuchao teaches the Heart Sutra, with a beginning and an end!

In the chaos, there is only ignorance.

The sound of chanting sutras is endless and resounds through the world.

The sound is focused and pious, quiet and steady.

It resounds day and night, and has not stopped for a hundred years.

In the chaos of ignorance, it seems that there have been some changes.

I don’t know when, ‘I’ became conscious and was born in this world.

My perception became clearer and clearer, and I heard the birds singing in the forest.

However, their sounds were very simple and did not bring me any special feelings.

One day, in the sound of chanting sutras day and night, ‘I’ could see.

‘I’ saw a small temple in the mountains and several monks living in it.

The monks farmed, carried water, and cleaned themselves.

Whenever they were free, they would meditate and chant sutras.

Later, the monks helped a man in cloth back from the mountains.

The monks boiled the scarce rice grains in the jar into porridge and fed him.

He gradually recovered and said goodbye to the monks, his mouth full of sincere gratitude.

‘I’ felt this warmth and sincerity, and I was actually somewhat satisfied.

‘I’ watched them quietly. I don’t know how long it had been, but many fine wrinkles appeared on the faces of the monks.

And the cloth-clothed man who had been saved by the monks came back.

His hair turned gray, and his cloth clothes were replaced with gorgeous clothes.

He directed a group of people to go up the mountain to expand the monks’ temple and repair the mountain road.

A stone statue was moved to the temple for this reason.

“From now on, the masters will be able to receive incense money.”

“With the road and the Buddha statue, more people will come to worship the Buddha.”

His voice changed a lot, but ‘I’ could still hear the sincerity and gratitude.

Sure enough, in the days that followed, different people began to go up the mountain one after another.

Some of them held a small bag of grains, and some held a few copper coins tightly in their hands.

They kowtowed to the stone statue and repeated in their mouths.

‘I’ heard a vision of praying for perfection and longing for happiness and peace.

This fresh voice made ‘I’ quite curious.

‘I’ listened to people’s beautiful visions, and my feelings became more lively and more complete.

More and more people came to the temple to pray for blessings.

Also increasing were the wrinkles on the faces of the monks in the temple.

Their movements became slower and slower, until one day, they fell into a long sleep.

The remaining monks surrounded these sleeping monks, looking a little sad.

On this day, ‘I’ felt a kind of bitterness from their chanting.

But after a while, they brought a group of new villains from outside the temple.

The villains shaved their hair and became new monks.

There were more and more long incense sticks burning in the temple, and the incense became heavier.

And the sounds that ‘I’ could hear became more and more numerous and more chaotic.

The voices that originally only prayed for happiness and well-being changed.

It became praying for wealth, praying for children, and praying for fame.

Some people even hoped that their enemies would be unlucky.

They knelt in front of the Buddha statue, listing all the unwarranted crimes of their enemies, hoping that the gods and Buddhas would punish their enemies so that they could vent their anger.

The malice contained in this voice made me feel quite uncomfortable.

But this malice was like some kind of sticky and disgusting thing, tightly entangled with me, and I couldn't get rid of it.

There were more and more disturbing voices, almost covering the quiet chanting of Buddha on weekdays.

For a while, I was a little tired and difficult to deal with and distinguish.

However, these malice also made me grow.

My perception became stronger and stronger until it could cover the foot of the mountain and extend to a village.

Finally one day, the monks on the mountain were invited to go down the mountain collectively.

There were also people in the town, gathered together and built a high platform.

On that day, I heard the voice of that sincere and kind person again.

"Master, thank you for holding this water and land assembly this time."

"I will use the money collected from incense offerings to repair the village!"

"Fellow villagers, this water and land assembly is a kind-hearted event for our village to pray for disaster relief. Please pay the full amount of incense offerings!"

"Otherwise, if your sincerity is not enough, the Buddha will not be able to bless you!"

This person seems to change

'I' did not hear the kindness and sincerity in him at the beginning, but heard lies and evil thoughts instead.

He seems to be as his name suggests, his words and deeds... are not consistent.

He said one thing in front of others and another behind their backs.

He encouraged fellow villagers to donate incense in front of others, but secretly found someone to plot evil deeds.

"Do something with the high platform built for the water and land assembly, don't let people see it and cause trouble."

"The money has been collected, let this assembly end early and drive these monks back to the mountain early."

"The villagers worship Buddha all day long and believe in a group of monks. What prestige do I have as the village chief?"

The platform collapsed after all.

'I' saw the monks standing on the high platform die, and the villagers standing under the high platform also died.

The people who survived were full of suspicion and malice towards the monks.

The monks returned to the mountain helplessly, looking very embarrassed.

Many of them left because of this, and the huge temple fell apart.

Only one person chose to stay.

That person put on a brown monk's robe and occasionally brought some new disciples.

'I' watched these things happen, but it was difficult for me to think of doing anything.

After all...'I' couldn't interfere with anything.

As time went by, the words that made me uncomfortable became more and more.

The maliciousness infected me more and more fiercely, and I tried desperately to get rid of them, but it was useless.

Until one day, this world... seemed to have changed.

I gradually found that the current me seemed to be able to do many things.

I tried to strip away those things that I didn't like and hated.

However, this was only a temporary solution and could not be stripped away completely.

Even the things that were stripped away by me caused a disaster.

Those things seemed to be particularly adapted to the current world.

At night, they turned into blue-skinned and long-tongued ghosts, and during the day, they hid themselves in people's words.

Slowly, they even learned to turn people into their own kind.

The number of people in the town began to decrease, and the villagers noticed this change.

And the man who did not do what he said remembered the monk on the mountain.

That night, the long-tongued ghost was unstoppable, and almost all the monks were killed or injured.

And the demons who caused the disaster saw the long-lurking, rolling ghost tide.

The brown-robed monk had grown old after years of ravage.

He shed tears of blood, his body was weak but shining with golden light, and he stood still in the ghost tide.

He sat in the town for a long time, protecting some villagers who had not yet been assimilated, and then returned to the mountain in the early morning.

This time, 'I' felt that he was different in some ways.

He opened his turbid old eyes and seemed to see 'me' from afar.

He seemed to see 'my' guilt, and then he sighed.

"It's not your fault... You were born because of words, but you have no heart or nature."

"In the final analysis, the human heart is the root of this evil and the breeding of demons..."

"I am no longer able to do it, so I will give you a heart."

"I hope you can use this scripture to get rid of the evil demons that affect you."

"If there is a chance in the future, you can also give it to the right person."

"I didn't expect that I would only realize it before I died after practicing for half a lifetime..."

The brown-robed monk died.

And because of this, 'I' showed my body, and my appearance was no different from that monk.

"Master, I came back to life because of you, but you didn't give me a name."

"In this case, I will use your name and walk in this world."

"From today on, I am the Zen Master Wuchao..."

A dream will eventually wake up.

Chen Xi slowly opened his eyes, his eyes were no longer confused, but full of clarity.

There were mountains and forests all around, and only a few broken bricks and tiles and half a stone statue on the ground told him that there used to be a temple here.

Master Wuchao sat in a bird's nest on the treetop, with fine cracks all over his body.

He faced Chen Xi and put his hands together.

Shi Linlin hid behind the bird's nest, leaned out half of his body, and looked at Chen Xi vigilantly.

There were still cracks all over its body, and it looked like it had not healed yet.

Chen Xi had a complicated expression, and also put his hands together and returned a salute to Master Wuchao.

At the end of the dream, Master Wuchao opened his memories and feelings to him without reservation.

Let him immerse himself in the story of Master Wuchao.

Until this moment, he had understood what kind of existence Master Wuchao was. "No wonder you know so much, even things that the old Zen master himself didn't know."

Master Wuchao sighed slightly, and then his expression gradually became serious.

"Saint monk, the Buddha's dream is over, and the demons have been subdued."

"However, the saint monk still has a long way to go."

"However, although the road is long, there must be a day to arrive, but the demonic obstacles are difficult to eliminate."

"I know the saint monk's difficulties, so I wrote a volume of "Duo Xin Jing", which has 50 words, a total of 270 words."

"If you encounter demonic obstacles, just recite this sutra, and there will be no harm."

"However, how much you can understand from it and what state you can reach depends on the saint monk's own luck."

After the Zen Master Wuchao finished speaking, he recited it orally.

The sutra says:

"Shariputra, color is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from color, color is emptiness, emptiness is color, and perception, thought, action and consciousness are also like this..."

This is called Duo Xin Jing, also known as the Mahaprajnaparamita Heart Sutra.

The 260-word mantra is mysterious and infinite. It is the general sutra of cultivation and the gateway to becoming a Buddha.

Chen Xi listened attentively and could remember it after hearing it once.

In an instant, the anger calmed down, and all kinds of demonic obstacles disappeared.

However, the three heads and six arms were deeply rooted and had not subsided at all.

The Dragon King and the broken precepts Buddha glared at the Zen Master Wuchao, restless, and seemed extremely dissatisfied.

"Saint monk, you have too many demonic obstacles. I'm afraid it will take some time to practice."

"Maybe in the future, you will have to get some more opportunities to continue to make progress and achieve the right results."

"I only hope that the saint monk can accept my vision, complete my unfinished business, and eliminate the demonic obstacles."

Seeing this situation, the Zen Master Wuchao shook his head helplessly.

After a few more Heart Sutras, He seemed to have resolved a matter of concern, and his face was full of relief after being relieved.

"Saint monk, do you have anything else to ask? I will tell you everything I know."

Chen Xi heard a bit of entrustment from the Zen Master Wuchao.

He couldn't help but frowned slightly, and hesitated several times.

Zen Master Wuchao smiled kindly, and waited quietly for Chen Xi to ask questions.

Chen Xi had a complicated expression and looked deeply at Zen Master Wuchao.

"Master, the Marichi Buddha Mother in Gao Village, and even the destiny you mentioned."

"Would you mind telling me about it?"

Master Wuchao heard this, pondered for a moment, and then spoke.

"Saint monk, do you know why I tried to enlighten Shi Linlin and went to Gao Village to make Madam Gao appear?"

Chen Xi shook his head after hearing this.

"It's because after I had a heart, although I was complete, I was more susceptible to the devil."

"Practice is nothing more than cultivating the heart."

"Good heart and evil heart both exist in me, but I can't separate them. I can only accept them gradually and reconcile them slowly."

"I traveled all over the world and tried to find out the reasons why the demons were rampant and why the world changed so drastically."

"But what I saw and felt made me gradually sink and the devil grew."

"After all, I didn't practice enough..."

Master Wuchao didn't answer Chen Xi directly. He paused here, and a little fear appeared on his face.

"As my magical powers grow, I gradually find that the places I have walked through seem familiar."

"The people and monsters I have seen are also familiar..."

"It seems that I can know that some people will become monsters in the future, and some monsters were once people."

"And every time I think of this, there is always a great fear in my heart that has no reason..."

Hearing this, Chen Xi was stunned.

He obviously did not expect that even Master Wuchao would be afraid of something.

Familiar?

He was a little confused and did not understand why this matter frightened Master Wuchao.

And Master Wuchao did not seem to want to delve into this matter, and quickly skipped this topic.

He restrained his expression and continued to speak.

"After I realized this, I wanted to get involved."

"So I chose to intervene in the affairs of Gao Village, trying to make Mrs. Gao, who was supposed to be a demon, show her true colors in advance."

"At that time, I wanted to change Mrs. Gao, so I gave her the name of Buddha Mother, hoping that she would first have a good heart because of her good reputation..."

"But who would have thought that as soon as I intervened in this matter, my condition would deteriorate rapidly."

"I was worried that I would lose control and affect the people of Gao Village, so I left there temporarily."

"And during the time I was away, Gao Village developed into what I didn't want to see because of rumors from somewhere."

"When I returned, everyone in the village had become demons, and only Miss Gao was still sober."

When Master Wuchao said this, he couldn't help but shook his head and sighed repeatedly.

"At that time, I had a premonition that this matter caused by me was far from over."

"After Gao Laozhuang, I tried many things to verify my guess."

"Such as, to prevent those who were destined to become demons from going astray."

"But without exception, the results were all failures."

"Either it was because of my evil thoughts that suddenly sprouted, or some other demons appeared from nowhere and made trouble unexpectedly."

"I gradually became discouraged and wanted to retire to the mountains and wait for fate."

"So, I used the methods I learned from a great master in Huangfengling to enlighten Shi Linlin."

"Since then, I returned to Futu Mountain, built a nest here, and didn't care about worldly affairs."

"If there are some chores, let Shi Linlin run errands for me."

"Until one day, I had a premonition that the holy monk, you are coming..."

"For me, this kind of thing seems to have happened many times..."

When Master Wuchao said this, his voice gradually became weaker.

As Chen Xi listened, he suddenly had a bad feeling in his heart.

He quickly looked at Master Wuchao, his face suddenly sank.

He saw that Master Wuchao's body was covered with cracks like branches, as if it would collapse in the next moment.

Master Wuchao saw this miserable situation, but he just smiled bitterly, as if he had known that he would be like this.

"Saint monk, it seems that the big secrets I told you are incredible."

"Now I have fulfilled the agreement with the old Zen master."

"My destiny will end here."

"Saint monk, the next place you will pass is the 800-mile Huangfeng Ridge!"

"Remember, there is no way to hide, no way to avoid!"

"Shi Linlin and Huangfeng Ridge have a lot of origins. It is also the place where it is destined to return and the place where the stubborn stone is liberated."

"Let it take you there."

"Master, wait! You!"

Shi Linlin's voice trembled a little when he heard this.

It didn't care about being afraid of Chen Xi, and hurriedly walked out from behind the bird's nest.

Chen Xi saw this scene, and there were many more indescribable and inexplicable feelings in his eyes.

He opened his mouth and wanted to say something.

But in the end, he couldn't say it.

Master Wuchao looked at Shi Linlin and wanted to reach out and touch it.

However, such a simple action, he couldn't do it now.

He shook his head and turned to look at Chen Xi.

"Over the years, because of my actions, I have committed many sins."

"Now it's time for the holy monk to subdue the demons."

"Please ask the holy monk to do it and send me off."

"Let me have a complete beginning and an end."

Although Chen Xi had expected it, he still felt a little sad when he looked at Master Wuchao's appearance at this time.

He took a deep breath, didn't say much, just nodded slowly at Master Wuchao.

When Master Wuchao saw this, a smile appeared on his face, and he put his hands together and closed his eyes.

Chen Xi activated his Dharma-speaking skills, chanted scriptures, and his true words resounded through the heavens and the earth.

In an instant, golden light and lotus shadows enveloped the entire Futu Mountain.

Shi Linlin stood blankly by, listening to the scriptures and watching bursts of golden flames coming out of Master Wuchao's body.

In a short while, Master Wuchao turned into a sky full of brilliance, which fell on every inch of Futu Mountain.

Pieces of brilliance fell on Shi Linlin's body.

The next moment, the bones fell off and scattered into the soil, and the body healed without a trace of cracks.

The chanting of scriptures slowly stopped.

Chen Xi opened his eyes and sighed.

He then bowed solemnly to the empty bird's nest.

After a long time, he stood up and looked at Shi Linlin, who was a little at a loss.

Seeing its appearance, Chen Xi couldn't help but think of the Toad Spirit.

That idiot is probably still sleeping, it's time to go find it...
