Batman's Owl Godfather

Chapter 21 The Sorting Hat

The fleet docked at the dock, and a group of young wizards followed Hagrid to the castle.

When getting off the ship, Hagrid found Neville's toad on an empty ship. Neville was ecstatic and hugged his pet tightly, fearing that it would disappear again in the blink of an eye.

Katum whispered: "Do you want to make a bet on when Neville will lose his toad next time?"

"No bet."

Bruce followed Hagrid to the oak door of the castle without looking back.

Hagrid raised his fist as big as a casserole and knocked on the castle door three times. The door opened and a tall black-haired witch stood in front of the door.

This is Professor McGonagall, the vice-president.

"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall, "The opening banquet is about to begin, but before you take your seats in the hall, you must first confirm which college you will enter..."

Hearing this, Bruce was furious.

He remembered that Katum had promised him solemnly that he would send him to the hidden college Azkaban.

But after Bruce read books related to the wizarding world, he knew that Azkaban was a prison.

What was even more annoying was that when Bruce questioned Katoom, he said nonchalantly: "Prison is a higher form of academy."

That was a good point. Bruce decided to let Katoom go to school one day.

"... The names of the four academies are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin."

Having said that, Bruce was more concerned about which academy he would be assigned to.

"In a few minutes, the sorting ceremony will be held in front of all the teachers and students in the school. I suggest that you tidy yourself up and be more energetic while waiting."

Bruce heard two boys discussing, Harry and his red-haired friend.

"How can they accurately assign us to which academy?" Harry said.

"I think we have to pass a test."

A stone stirs up a thousand waves. When all the little wizards heard the word test, they became panicked.

Among them, Hermione was the most extreme. She was mumbling something and had begun to recite the spells she had learned quickly.

"Is there really a test?" Bruce asked Katum.

But Katum did not answer. On the contrary, he now showed a state of not knowing what he was busy with, reciting a spell over and over again.

"What are you reciting?" Bruce was a little panicked.

"Brain blocking spell, don't worry, I have to prevent the secret of our crossing from being leaked out."

What does it mean? Will someone read his brain later?

Bruce knew that Katum knew a lot of spells now, and many magics that he could not cast became very simple in his hands.

Then, as Katum chanted, a very strange feeling appeared in Bruce's mind.

It was like there was an invisible barrier that blocked Bruce's thoughts from leaking out.

Katum blew a whistle: "Easy, you don't have to worry."

Is it okay like this? Bruce didn't even understand the principle.

In fact, it is far from that simple. If Katoom and Bruce were not connected in soul, the brain blocking spell would not work on others.

But Katoom would not explain these.

"Now, line up in a single line," Professor McGonagall said to the first-year students, "follow me."

The sorting ceremony began.

The little wizards were brought into the luxurious hall of Hogwarts. Amidst the exclamations, a tattered pointed hat was placed in front of them.

The wrinkles on the hat looked like human features - very ugly features - and then he began to sing.

As the singing went on, the little wizards were relieved. It turned out that there was no need to take any tests. Just wearing a hat could determine the college.

Only Hermione showed a trace of regret.

Professor McGonagall walked forward a few steps, holding a roll of parchment in her hand: "Whoever's name I call now, put on the hat, sit on the stool, and wait for the sorting."

"Hannah Abbott!"

A little girl stumbled out of the queue and put on the hat.

A pause -

"Hufflepuff!" the hat shouted.

The Hufflepuff table suddenly applauded and cheered.

"Hogwarts is really interesting." Katoom suddenly said, "They are all children, but they have to be labeled first."

Bruce was helpless. No matter what came out of the owl's mouth, the taste was different.

"Am I wrong?" Katoom turned his head 180 degrees again, looking like he deserved a beating. "The four colleges have the same classes, so why is there a need to divide them?"

"Maybe it's a tradition." Bruce made up a reason casually.

"It's a good tradition. When there is a problem in any college, just cut it off directly."

Katoom kept chattering, and Bruce couldn't stand it anymore. He grabbed the other's beak in his hand and stopped him from talking.

"It's useless." Katoom's voice rang in Bruce's mind again, "We can telepathically, have you forgotten?"

Katoom felt that he had said nothing wrong, and Bruce was too much.

Even the Sorting Hat itself thinks there is something wrong with the sorting. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the Sorting Hat composed a new song, saying that he felt the sorting was incorrect, but he had to fulfill his duties and had to sort.

Bruce finally had no choice. He let go of his hand and changed the subject: "Which house do you think I will be sorted into?"

"Ninety percent Ravenclaw, but I suggest you talk to the Sorting Hat and don't go."

Bruce was surprised: "Can I still discuss with the Sorting Hat?"

"Who do you think I am? Don't you have this face?" Catum said shamelessly, "I have already greeted the Sorting Hat. He will respect your wishes. This is a privilege that only you can enjoy."

Really?

Bruce was skeptical: "Why are you so sure that I will go to Ravenclaw?"

"Because the sorting looks at the future trend, you don't meet the requirements of other colleges.

"Gryffindor requires courage, but you will choose to coexist with fear in the future, and even use fear as a source of strength.

"Slytherin requires recognition, but you are not proud of your surname and bloodline. The identity of Bruce Wayne is just a disguise of your true image.

"Hufflepuff requires integrity. I don't want to say more about this. For the justice in your heart, you almost do anything except not killing people."

Catum's analysis, which involves many future things, Bruce doesn't know whether it is true or not, but it sounds reasonable.

"Then according to what you said, I have nowhere to go except Ravenclaw. "No, no, no, I hope you go to Hufflepuff. People who go to other houses all have similar core characteristics. What you need now is to meet different people. Hufflepuff has all kinds of people, which will be good for your future growth." Isn't it about seeing which house you are suitable for, but which house is suitable for you? The words are high-sounding, but Bruce remembered that he read in the book that the Hufflepuff common room is close to the kitchen. He always felt that this was the real reason why Katoom wanted to go to Hufflepuff. "Anyway, go to Hufflepuff, I won't hurt you. "

Katum sighed and said earnestly.

At this moment, Katum was thinking about something completely different.

Gryffindor's giant squid, Ravenclaw's crown, Slytherin's chamber of secrets, and the inheritance of the other three colleges have now been revealed.

Only the Hufflepuff inheritance, the clue of the golden cup is in Bellatrix's vault, and Katum can't get it for the time being.

There is no other way. Katum's only choice now is to see if he can find other clues about Hufflepuff's inheritance in Hogwarts.

So Bruce has to go to Hufflepuff.
