Azeroth Monster Manual

#64 - Priestess Hex's Ambition

Speaking of trolls, that's a long story.

Trolls are divided into four categories: jungle trolls, frost trolls, forest trolls, and sand trolls. In ancient times, they possessed a great kingdom called Zandalar.

Although Zandalar has long disappeared into the river of history without a trace, the trolls have formed their own new kingdoms, the two most powerful of which are called the Amani Empire and the Gurubashi Empire.

Before the decline of the Amani Empire, the core of this troll force was the Amani tribe, in addition to many subordinate tribes, such as the Firetree, Rotting Moss, Eviltooth, Burning Thorn, Vilebranch, and Deadwood tribes.

But they have a common label, which is "Amani Troll." Even other trolls see this label as synonymous with "strong and brave" and worthy of awe, and the reason is simple.

During the ancient Zul'Gurub Empire {Zandalar had not yet split, and the Amani and Gurubashi had not yet formed empires}.

In that crazy war with the Aqir insectoids, it was the Amani trolls who relentlessly pursued the Old God's servant, Kith'ix, who fled northeast, and finally killed him in the northeastern woodlands.

This land, soaked in the blood of troll warriors, later became the capital of the Amani Empire - Zul'Aman.

In this way, they fulfilled their mission and oath, and rightfully possessed a large area of land in Kalimdor and established an empire.

Ten thousand years ago, after the Great Sundering, the landscape of Azeroth underwent earth-shattering changes. Because the shadow of the Legion's invasion still lingered, the night elves extremely rejected the highborne continuing to study arcane magic, which led to the departure of the highborne.

During the migration, this group of highborne, now known as high elves, paid a heavy price. The harsh natural environment and the constant harassment of trolls along the way caused the high elves to suffer heavy losses.

After the high elves first landed on the continent of Lordaeron, they used their magic to drive away the trolls in the northern region and established the magical kingdom of Quel'Thalas there. The Amani Empire therefore decided to defeat these elven invaders and subvert the entire Quel'Thalas.

However, the Amani's plan was destined to fail. At this time, in the southern part of the forest troll territory, a strong and great human established his empire - the Arathor Empire.

The war-loving trolls fought on two fronts. In the north, they suppressed the elves to a dangerous situation, while in the south, they constantly clashed with the Arathor Empire. Under the insistence of Dath'Remar Sunstrider, the first sun king of the high elves, humans and elves formally formed an alliance.

It was also at this time that the elves taught the secrets of arcane magic to humans, and after thousands of years of evolution, the magical city of Dalaran exists today.

The allied forces of elves and humans were unstoppable. Under the combined operations of elven magic and human heavy infantry, the trolls were repeatedly defeated.

The already dilapidated Amani Empire officially disintegrated. Apart from a small number of Amani trolls who moved to Zul'Aman, a troll city in the southeastern corner of the Ghostlands, the other tribes all migrated south to unknown lands.

And the Hinterlands is the new home of the Vilebranch and Revantusk tribes.

As descendants of the Amani Empire, the Vilebranch tribe returned to their ancestral home in the Hinterlands after the Troll Wars, only to find that the Revantusk tribe had already taken the lead. Therefore, they built "Jintha'Alor" on the other side of the slope, a troll kingdom second only to Zul'Aman in scale.

Compared to other forest trolls, the Vilebranch tribe is more enthusiastic about the worship of the blood god Hakkar.

Although they look down on the Revantusk tribe, the Vilebranch tribe does not overly mind the Revantusk occupying their ancestral land. On the surface, it seems that they tolerate the existence of the Revantusk tribe because they are forest troll compatriots. In fact, their high priestess, an abnormally evil and ambitious woman named Hex, treats the Revantusk trolls as beings that can be used to satisfy her own selfish desires.

In the depths of a gloomy cave, there are densely packed forks. Deep in a hidden fork, the priestess Hex knelt piously on the ground, muttering words.

"Great Hakkar, please accept the summons of your most devout believer."

In front of the priestess, there was a huge stone platform, and the scene on the stone platform was chilling.

The pungent smell of blood permeated the entire fork, and the thick blood floated in the air as if it had life, forming bright and eerie red ribbons.

Seven or eight troll corpses were lying haphazardly on the huge stone platform. Judging from the style of their leather armor, they did not seem to be members of the Vilebranch tribe.

These trolls died tragically, with dense wounds all over their bodies. It seemed that they had suffered inhuman torture before their deaths. They had one thing in common: the eye sockets were pitch black, and the pupils had been dug out.

An astonishing aura rose in the narrow cave. Under a cloud of blurry smoke, a huge figure appeared in front of Hex.

It had a head like a raptor, but adorned with a few strands of blue feathers behind its head. The body of this behemoth was like a giant snake, and the dense scales shimmered with blood-like light even in the dark cave.

Two huge wings filled the narrow cave. In general, the colors on its body were red and blue, giving it an unspeakable sense of weirdness.

"Hiss..."

After a creepy, strange hiss, all the floating blood ribbons were sucked into the giant monster's mouth, and the corpses on the platform disappeared after a burst of shaking, leaving only dust and intact clothing.

"The offerings are getting less and less. Hakkar wants more. If there are not enough offerings, the next one to be sacrificed will be the tiny Vilebranch trolls..."

The monster named Hakkar actually spoke human words after enjoying the 'meal', and its vicious eyes exuded a greedy aura.

The priestess prostrated herself on the ground, her body trembling non-stop, but if viewed from another perspective, it could be seen that the face, which was considered beautiful by troll standards, was not filled with trembling and fear.

She was actually smiling, and her eyes, which should have been filled with fear and unease, were full of excitement and excitement.

"I'm very sorry, Wind Serpent God..."

"Bang!"

Before the priestess could finish her words, Hakkar's wings, covered with blue feathers, suddenly fanned up a gust of wind. The unprepared Hex flew out instantly and slammed into the stone wall behind her with a bang.

The solid stone wall '簌簌' dropped a few pieces of gravel. The priestess, with a mouth full of blood, endured the excruciating pain and quickly knelt down, shouting loudly:

"Great Blood God, I, your humble servant, did not intend to offend you."

"There will be no next time..."

"Speak, ant, the purpose of summoning me."

The Wind Serpent twisted its huge and slender tail awkwardly. The narrow cave made it very annoyed.

"I have already gained the trust of the blood god Shirvallah..."

Hearing this, Hakkar's face, which resembled a raptor, actually showed a very human-like fanatical and excited smile.

"Very good, prepare enough sacrifices. From now on, the name of the Blood God will resound throughout the material world. The day Shirvallah falls, you will be my first high priestess..."

......

The shrill laughter of the Blood God Hakkar slowly disappeared, and the Wind Serpent left.

Hex breathed a sigh of relief, followed by tens of seconds of wild laughter. Even the Vilebranch guards on duty outside the cave could vaguely hear the laughter in the cave.

"Destroy that weak tribe? No, no, no, how can so much kindling be wasted so easily? I will turn their home into a sheepfold for our Vilebranch tribe, and those trolls will be the best tribute to the Blood God."

"And the greedy Deadwood trolls, they actually dare to invade my territory. It seems necessary to give them some painful lessons."

Hex was still laughing wildly, and the pretty face no longer showed the piety and humility she had when facing Hakkar. An emotion called ambition was growing wildly in the heart of the female troll.

Let's talk about Kima, who went to Shadra'Alor, who was miserable.

PS: Let's write about the history of the trolls, after all, many masters don't know much about the Warcraft Chronicles. The author will do his best to present those more important nodes and must-write history to everyone.

Also, I just got the editor's recommendation on the APP, thank you editor and all the masters for your support.
