Azeroth Monster Manual

#193 - The End of Hakkar (Part 1)

“Your Majesty, the suction inside is getting stronger!”

Aurelia retreated from the ruins looking disheveled. Her messy leather armor and tangled golden hair showed that the young ranger-general had suffered quite a bit.

More than ten minutes had passed since Aier disappeared.

Anasterian stared solemnly at the direction of the ruins. This was the third time he had sent Aurelia to investigate the situation inside, but all three times ended in the ranger-general's failure.

Although he had great faith in Aier's strength and strategy, he was still a little worried.

Moreover, the current situation was no longer under his control and had become increasingly unpredictable.

The altar ruins were like the gaping mouth of an abyss, with a powerful suction force coming from within, pulling in countless troll corpses, along with fragile thatched huts and rubble scattered everywhere, the remains of buildings.

Just then, Sardo returned to the group with a pale face.

Seeing this, Vanderol quickly cast several restorative holy light spells on him, and the ranger lord's complexion became rosy again.

After thanking the high priest, Sardo came to Anasterian's side.

“How is Kael? Is the progress going smoothly?”

The Sun King asked without turning his head.

“The illusions and traps have been set up. I have already notified His Highness and the Speaker to go to the outermost perimeter to build a portal to evacuate the allied forces. I believe they have already set off.”

Sardo clutched his chest, panting slightly.

Although Vanderol had already healed his injuries, the sudden loss of a large amount of blood had left him somewhat weak.

“Aurelia, take Sardo and Vanderol and leave first. It's enough for me to be here alone.”

“Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty!”

Hearing the Sun King's words, the three were shocked.

“I have already instructed Kael and the others to open the portal of Aier's Light. You can still catch up with the tail of the allied forces if you leave now.”

“What about you, Your Majesty?”

Vanderol asked cautiously.

“I will be fine. If things are impossible, I will leave here.”

Anasterian took out a yellowed parchment. All of them were knowledgeable people, so they naturally knew what it was.

A magic parchment that could instantly teleport to the Silvermoon Court, a fine-grade magic item that only inscription masters could create.

“But Your Majesty, we can't leave you alone…”

Vanderol said anxiously, and the two legendary rangers standing aside also showed worried expressions.

“This is an order!”

Anasterian flicked his sleeves and scolded loudly.

Inside the scarlet egg sac.

A powerful suction force came from the outside, and countless troll corpses and building debris passed through the surface of the giant egg, entering the interior without any hindrance.

Hundreds of black blood vessels of varying thicknesses snapped from the middle. These blood vessels, as if possessing their own consciousness, ignored the rubble on the ground and went towards the troll corpses on the ground.

Aier casually cut off a blood vessel that stretched towards him, and then watched everything that was happening in front of him with rapt attention.

As soon as these terrifying black blood vessels touched the troll corpses, they instantly pierced the already stiff skin and stretched inside.

After a while, chilling sounds rang out one after another.

“Glug…”

“Glug…”

The corpses visibly shriveled under the suction of the black blood vessels until only a layer of wrinkled skin remained.

After 'eating' the troll corpses, these blood vessels retreated as if satisfied, reconnecting with the original broken places.

“Strange, even the bones have been absorbed? It seems that Hakkar's coming ceremony requires a lot of energy.”

Aier frowned and continued to walk towards the center of the giant egg.

The scene of black blood vessels 'feeding' had occurred several times in these ten minutes. The suction outside the giant egg had never stopped. Tens of thousands of trolls who died inside and outside the Zul'jin altar had become the best nourishment for Hakkar to reshape his avatar, which made Aier's originally relaxed mood become tense.

As Aier went deeper, the situation inside the giant egg gradually became clear.

One end of these black blood vessels was connected to the inner wall of the giant egg, and the other end was connected to the center of the giant egg.

And in the center, a huge transparent sphere stood, and Hakkar inside was quietly curled up into a ball, immersed in a pool of scarlet liquid.

The upper half of this wind serpent had already transformed into a flesh and blood form, but its lower half was only sections of white bones, clean and without any flesh and blood.

Watching the flesh buds gradually wriggling downwards, Aier understood that if Hakkar continued to devour like this, then its main body might really descend into this world.

The mutual slaughter between the Evil Branch and the Deadwood, coupled with those Evil Branch trolls killed by Shadra, the trolls who died in this battle numbered as many as one hundred thousand (one-third battle damage). If all these corpses were transformed into Hakkar's nourishment, then when this avatar was formed, it would be when Hakkar's main body descended.

“Is this big wind serpent sure that Your Majesty and the others can't do anything about the protective film, so it's eating 'alone' in front of us so swaggeringly? It really doesn't treat itself as an outsider.”

Aier stroked the transparent film while tut-tutting in complaint.

After a long time, he finally understood what the film包裹着 Hakkar's and the scarlet liquid inside were.

“Is this really the knowledge and technology that a bloodthirsty evil god can master? It's really… unbelievable.

Even science fiction movies don't dare to act like this. This transparent film is like a culture tank, and the program has been designed in advance, and Hakkar's avatar is completely refined from the flesh and blood of those trolls.

Hakkar only paid a wisp of spiritual will that was summoned to Azeroth by Hex. When this avatar is formed, Hakkar can project all his spiritual will onto this avatar to reach the strength of the 'main body' descending. What a brilliant design, what a terrifying ambition.”

Taking off the ruby monocle on the bridge of his nose, the teenager couldn't help but admire.

“If it really was just Your Majesty and his party, perhaps you really wouldn't be able to do anything about this trick of yours to get something for nothing. If you could obtain all the energy of Shadra's avatar, perhaps you could really descend on Azeroth… It's a pity… It's a pity you met me.”

Just as Aier was lamenting the impermanence of the world, the black blood vessels connected to the transparent film began to swell again, and streams of flesh and blood essence flowed towards the 'culture tank' where Hakkar was located. Even Aier, who was in the giant egg, could clearly feel this terrifying life force.

The white bones of Hakkar's lower body also underwent obvious changes under the injection of this life force.

Flesh, scales, feathers, these unique characteristics of the wind serpent began to slowly appear.

But Aier was not in a hurry to cut off those black blood vessels, end Hakkar's ambition, and end this hunting journey, but silently came to the top of Hakkar's head and began to study it carefully.

“Children make choices, but I want everything!”
