Azeroth Monster Manual
#189 - Hakkar's Arrival
The dim sky was illuminated...
More than a dozen blazing white Flame Burst spells transformed into a meteor shower of fire, flying towards Shadra.
Shadra's massive body, which was originally rushing towards the young man, abruptly stopped in its tracks, the immense kinetic energy from the sudden stop kicking up a cloud of dust and scattering large chunks of rock.
Immediately following, the great spider's originally black and red body visibly began to turn into a phantom projection.
The meteor shower of fire, comprised of more than a dozen potent Flame Burst spells, actually passed straight through her body, flying towards the Altar of Zul behind her.
"Boom..."
Deafening, dense explosions rang out, accompanied by thick smoke and dust, as the ancient altar, which had stood for thousands of years, was reduced to dust and rubble under the magical bombardment.
"Damn it, not this trick again!"
The young man angrily returned Elune's Grace to his spatial backpack, and taking advantage of the gap before Shadra retreated from [Ethereal Form], he pulled out the Phoenix Glaive, which he hadn't used in a long time.
He didn't choose the usual conservative tactic of holding a shield in his left hand and a 'spear' in his right, but instead gripped the Epic-level, oddly shaped weapon tightly with both hands, transforming into a blur of azure light that was difficult to see with the naked eye, rushing towards Shadra's direction.
Aier's idea was simple: even if it meant trading injury for injury, he had to end this battle quickly. Shadra's avatar didn't have much time left in the material world, and he didn't have time to continue wasting it like this.
Shadra had just emerged from [Ethereal Form] when she suffered a critical blow from Aier.
The Phoenix Glaive ruthlessly slashed at her body, and the flames burning on the blade caused secondary damage, continuously searing her body. Although these deep, bone-visible wounds healed instantly in just a few seconds,
the rapid healing didn't come without a price. The price was the Loa power within her body, which was becoming increasingly scarce. In other words, Shadra's avatar would weaken as the Loa power within her decreased, until it completely died.
The souls, or rather the main bodies, of the Loa gods roam in another world all year round (here referring to the Emerald Dream, but there are exceptions, such as the fact that the plane where the evil god Hakkar exists is not in the Emerald Dream. There is even a saying that Hakkar was summoned from another world by trolls, and his main body is not in the main universe of Azeroth. For another example, the Wind Serpent God of Northrend wanders in his own dream all year round and is not in the Emerald Dream).
And Shadra was no exception. Tens of thousands of years of accumulated power not only gave her many divine duties, but also awakened a kind of ability, an ability to briefly switch her body between the main material world (Azeroth) and the Emerald Dream.
Shadra in the ethereal state could be immune to all magical and physical attacks, but such a powerful ability was not without its price.
First of all, the ethereal time was very short, only less than two seconds.
Secondly, each use of ethereal form would consume a great deal of energy from Shadra's main body (avatar), and ethereal form also had a huge weakness.
In this extremely intense battle, Aier's mixed attacks had forced the great spider to use ethereal form more than once.
Although this skill avoided too much damage, making Aier very headache, he also grasped the weakness of ethereal form. After repeated observations, Aier found that Shadra would have a moment of stiffness every time after ethereal form.
And this moment of stiffness, as long as he grasped it, would cause great trauma to the great spider.
......
Time slowly passed, and after a fierce melee battle, the man and the spider both retreated.
Aier wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and nimbly got up from the ground. The fine quality Bloodforged Plate Armor that the young man was wearing was already tattered.
Large and small hideous 'knife marks' covered every corner of the plate armor, plus the dents and holes on the plate armor that were corroded by venom, this set of [Bloodforged] armor could almost be declared scrapped.
The snow-white skin was exposed at the damaged plate armor, not because Shadra's attack failed to break the defense, but because those hideous wounds had already healed under the amazing recovery provided by [Photosynthesis] and [Troll Regeneration].
Looking at Shadra not far away, her state was very different from Aier's.
There were no scars on the great spider's body, but it was obvious that she was weak.
Although Shadra was a powerful Loa with intermediate divine power, she did not pour a lot of Loa power into her avatar like Hir'eek.
Her avatar was obviously not up to standard, and even felt a bit perfunctory, barely entering the legendary level.
The young man's unexpected various [Enchanted Weapons] and powerful mixed damage (mixed magic and physical damage) attacks made her suffer a lot.
In addition, this avatar did not have a so-called entity, and was entirely constructed from Loa divine power. As time passed and Aier attacked, she would only become weaker and weaker.
If she knew that Aier had not used his full strength, but was experimenting with a new combat system on her, it was unknown what the Spider Queen, famous for her cunning and viciousness, would think.
"Mortal, I remember your scent."
The huge spindle spider let out a terrifying hiss. Although she was yelling fiercely, Aier knew that the great spider had already developed a retreat intention. Such a stern performance was just bluffing.
"Damn it, they all have their own trump cards. Are all legends so difficult to deal with? It seems that this set of Spellsword fighting style still needs to be strengthened and developed. After this matter is over, it is necessary to go to Suramar to ask that old woman for advice."
The young man spat, constantly cursing in his heart.
He originally thought that after being promoted to Legend, plus his heaven-defying attributes and various trump cards, he could be considered a big shot, able to beat most Legends.
But in less than a year, he had encountered four legendary-level enemies. Although he defeated them all with a calm mind (mist), a tenacious physique, and an unyielding will, Aier discovered after summarizing that none of these Legends were easy to deal with.
Antonidas, Hex, Hir'eek, the combat literacy of these three legendary-level powerhouses was terrifyingly strong.
Not only were they outstanding in strength, but they also possessed extremely powerful unique secret skills. And now, Shadra, who he was facing, was even more powerful than the previous three.
Although she didn't have powerful attack methods, nor did she have exceptionally tough defense, she was time-limited! She was time-limited!

With Aier's strength, if he fought a protracted war, then it was estimated that few legends in Azeroth would be his opponents.
But the difficulty of this battle was that Shadra's avatar only had one hour to exist in the material world.
Deducting the previous half hour, Aier had only used less than 20 minutes to gain a huge advantage.
The problem was, in the last 10 minutes, even if he went all out and used his true strength, could he really defeat Shadra?
A strong sense of frustration made Aier realize that he should not underestimate the people of the world.
"Damn it, if you give me another 20 minutes, no, just 10 minutes... Could it be that you really want to use that trick? No, no, the price is too great, it's really not worth it for a Loa avatar with not much to gain..."
Aier stroked his chin, thinking about what to do next, while Shadra not far away was quietly retreating. The cunning spider Loa had already calculated in her heart.
'There are still 10 minutes, as long as you persist for another ten minutes...'
Shadra understood that the difference between herself (avatar) and this ant was very obvious, and defeat was only a matter of time, but she was not willing to hand it over so easily. This avatar was infused with a lot of her Loa power, and she didn't want to give it away so easily.
The world of the Loa was complex and cruel. Shadra knew that there were countless Loa staring at the position under her ass (divine duty), eager to replace her.
Far away, there was Hir'eek (snake), who had recently disappeared, and close by, there was that disgusting Hir'eek (bat), who had been eyeing her covetously.
And she herself had the same idea. After all, there were too many Loa with the same divine duty, weren't there?
In order to recover the Loa power consumed in constructing this avatar (here referring to Shadra's avatar, not the power within her body) and preserve her strength, she had to decide to temporarily retreat, or rather, run away in disgrace.
'Damn ant, I will definitely repay the shame you gave me many times over!'
'After returning to Zuldazar, I will have my followers find you, kill you, and offer your soul to Bwonsamdi, to be tortured for all eternity! I believe that old thing will definitely like you.'
Shadra kept retreating while the young man was thinking.
'Almost, almost.'
Feeling that there was a huge shadow behind her, Shadra couldn't help but be overjoyed. As long as she retreated into the shadow, with the shadow divine duty she possessed, she would easily escape from here.
But at this moment, Shadra, who was still complacent, suddenly froze, and her eight terrifying single eyes actually showed a hint of fear in a very anthropomorphic way.
The young man also raised his head at this time, looking at the sky in surprise.
A sun-covering shadow shrouded the entire area, and Shadra couldn't help but tremble.
Hakkar... is coming.
