Chapter 98 Good idea!

Nine-fold Path, as the name suggests, is a cross-country type competition.

The contestants must choose different paths in the half-plane mazes created by the eight-ring mages of successive generations to reach the finish line.

These half-planes were opened up by the eight-ring mages during their experiments, and are usually only the size of a small village.

The entire competition is similar to a box-style level-breaking game, where each half-plane is a level, and all half-planes together form a maze.

The school will use space gates to connect these small half-planes in series, and let the students participating in the competition move forward in them until the finish line.

There are not many difficulties in the competition, which can be roughly divided into three points:

First, how to find the space door leading to the next demiplane inside the demiplane. The school will deliberately hide these space doors;

Second, the harsh environment inside the demiplane. These demiplanes are usually where high-level mages dump various abandoned research. There are not only swamps formed by venom, but also monsters from other worlds, and the environment is dangerous;

Third, and the most important point, there is a competitive relationship between students. The college will not interfere with whether students form teams, so it is allowed to participate alone or in teams. This also leads to some people attacking their teammates in order to win.

In addition to these, the school will generally ask the mechanic to make some steel guards and constructs to be placed in the demiplane, or build some safe houses.

"Garlin, I'm not being stingy. Look at the funding we provide you at the Tower of Wonders! Is that stingy? But you want our students to work for you for free after the final exam until next summer. Are you kidding me?"

In the office, Moore Class was arguing with the dean of the Tower of Spells.

A large part of the funding for the Tower of Wonders comes from the students' processing, which is the main channel for the relatively poor mechanics to repay their student loans.

But people from other schools actually want these students to work for them for free, which will not only reduce the supply of the Tower of Wonders, but also make those students lose their livelihoods.

So whether it is for public or private reasons, Moore Class does not want to agree to this.

"I know, Mooreban, I know this request is a bit excessive, but in the last competition, our eight schools reported each other for cheating, so this time, in order to prevent the last thing, we have to ask you for help."

More than 30 years ago, the current Tower of Wonders was controlled by a group of mages who did not want to choose a school specialization. They believed that mages should not be bound by schools.

But these guys were later found to be seriously corrupt. In order to make up for the deficit, the Magic Council (the upper echelons of Akanix) introduced Wonders to the Mage Tower.

The current tower owner with strong financial resources not only helped to pay off the deficit of the Magic Council, but also made up for a little funding for everyone every year, so the Mage Tower was changed to the Tower of Wonders.

But since entering the Mage Tower, the tower owner has not been very interested in intervening in the Ninefold Path competition.

As the upper class follows the lower class, most of the Wonders of Akanix do not participate in this competition.

Even if they participate, most of them help friends from other schools and never go to participate in the competition themselves.

In the words of those teachers, "If you have that much time, you might as well make a few more pieces of equipment to sell for money. Honor? If you invent a prop that benefits the country and the people, you will have more honor than the champion of the Ninefold Path!"

Because the original ninth magician group was gone, the strange machine masters were too lazy to participate. In the past thirty years, the Ninefold Path competition has been jointly undertaken by the eight major schools.

So they inevitably began to keep a backhand in it.

It was left until the last competition, and the matter became a big deal. Students from the eight schools reported their opponents for cheating, so the last competition was also the only time there was no real winner.

So, in order to eliminate the phenomenon of cheating, the eight major schools thought of asking the strange machine masters for help.

"Then why don't you take out some funds to hire senior students from our strange machine tower? Especially the group of sixth and seventh grade seniors who have paid off their student loans."

Seeing his master's embarrassed expression, Carl relied on his young age and asked.

After hearing this, Moore's class also got excited.

He was also worried about the "internship" for the sixth and seventh graders. Those students had never actually participated in the work of the Wonder Machine Workshop. They only helped the teachers make some well-designed props and wonders, which was a bit too high.

If they could be hired by other magic towers, wouldn't the two troubles be offset?

Carl's voice made all the deans in the office look at him, which made Carl, as a student, a little uncomfortable.

"Good idea! You are worthy of being my apprentice!"

Standing up from his seat, Moore class walked quickly to Carl and patted his shoulder with a happy face.

Several magic tower deans looked a little awkward. They originally planned to get some for free, but now they had to pay back part of the funds they had asked for from the Wonder Machine Tower, which made them feel very uncomfortable.

The Tiger of Spells thought about it and felt that this was indeed a solution, so he also began to discuss this matter with Moore class.

The two of them quickly worked out a rough plan, and the remaining people who wanted to take advantage of them were too embarrassed to say anything, so they just filled out the forms and went back.

"Ah! Good disciple, this time it's all thanks to you!"

After seeing off the other teaching directors of the Mage Tower, Morgban turned around and patted Karl's shoulder happily.

"What's wrong?"

Although he is good at business, Karl still has a little understanding of this kind of workplace matters.

Morgban gestured toward the door, and then said:

"Do you think it's just a coincidence that all of them are here? This is the autumn wind! They are secretly putting pressure on me! I should have known that the money should not have been approved so quickly! This will make them think that our Tower of Magical Artifacts is making money. It’s faster than mining gold or dragon crystal!”

Hammering his knees with some annoyance, Morgban sat back in his seat and continued to teach his apprentices about his workplace experience.

"They must be thinking about getting some free labor from us, so that they can have more funds, so that they can line their own pockets!"

"Of course, Jialin shouldn't be such a person. We are old friends, but I can't say for sure about the other schools, especially the one from the control school. He didn't take advantage of us. Look at him. It’s like he suffered a lot!”

As he was talking, Morgban saw the design draft held by Karl.

Stopping talking, he took over the design draft and began to point out some flaws in Carl's design and areas that could be optimized.

While talking, Morgban discovered the VR glasses designed by Karl from the pile of design drafts.

"What is this?"

After informing his master about the function of VR glasses, Karl looked at his stunned master and couldn't help but feel a little proud.

"Okay, boy! It's a great idea! However, it may be a little troublesome to actually make this thing. The size of the test machine may be much larger than what you have in the design draft."

Listening to his master's advice, another idea suddenly came to Karl's mind.

"Master, tell me, if we make this thing, and then let the seniors use the magical equipment fixed with the secret eye spell as an image recording tool in the maze, can we play the game process? Queen Aundair allocates an annual grant Our school has so much money, if we invite her to watch, will it make her feel more involved, and..."

Before he finished speaking, Karl's shoulders were already firmly grasped by Morgban.

"Good apprentice! What a great idea!"
