Chapter 57: To do this job, you must know the rules!

"Let's open the dormitory and take a look first!"

Pointing to the door of the dormitory, Hope looked at Karl expectantly.

However, through psychic energy, Karl had already taken a rough look at what was inside the door.

In the room, two huge corpses, wearing all their equipment, were lying on the ground hugging each other.

The power of time has long since turned the two fire giants into decaying corpses, and all the non-magical items in the room have decayed.

A huge book fell next to the corpses of the two giants. It looked like a spell book or exploration diary of one of the giants.

There was no smell of death in the room, which meant that the two giants probably performed some kind of treatment on their bodies before dying.

Turning his head, Karl patted Hope on the shoulder and said:

"There may not be anything in there that you imagine, but the two drivers of this minecart rest in peace in this room."

But despite what he said, he still opened the door.

The furnishings in the room are just as Carl can see with his spiritual power.

Looking at the corpses of the two giants, Hope suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.

It was like seeing the future between himself and Karl.

An inexplicable sadness filled her heart. She trembled her lips and asked Karl in a low voice:

"Karl, will we..."

Before Hope could continue, Karl slapped her on the buttocks.

"Stop thinking nonsense, come over and say goodbye to the two seniors, and be polite!"

"Bang!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Karl banged his head and knocked on the ground.

Carl then stood up and lit a stick in the southeast corner of the room.

Before Hope could react, he picked up those things that could still be used and carried them outside with quick hands and feet.

"Did you agree to be polite?"

Seeing Karl's skillful movements, Hope stayed in place for a while.

"Don't just watch, take the magic book and the keys tied around their waists as well."

Seeing that Hope was motionless, Karl reminded him.

After waking up from his stupor, Hope struggled for a moment, and then moved various items and equipment out at an even faster speed.

As a tiefling born in Droaam, "picking up equipment" is a passive skill that is almost engraved in Hope's bones.

Not to mention the ones whose original owners had turned into bones, Hope had even "picked up" the half-dead ones.

Of course, she was not as particular as Karl back then, and she even knelt on the original owner before picking it up.

Soon, the wooden stick in the southeast corner went out. Karl looked at the last two giant weapons in his hand and put them back.

"Okay, that's it. In this business, you have to know the rules!"

Pulling up Hope who wanted to continue moving, Carl and the two walked out of the dormitory, closed the door, and locked the lock.

His slightly abstract behavior filled Hope's head with questions.

She couldn't help but start to reflect on her recent behavior, and felt that she had squeezed Karl too frequently recently, which led to his current symptoms.

The strong emotional fluctuations immediately caught Karl's attention. After glancing at Hope, Karl defended himself:

"I'm not out of my mind, but I'm sticking to the bottom line. They've already died, but they've left us such a temporary shelter. We have to show them the minimum respect!"

"Then you still take other people's relics?"

"Ahem! If you keep this relic in the room, it will have no effect. But if you give it to me, it will at least increase the probability of our survival. Besides, I also left something for others."

"You've already said it all..."

Looking at the locked door with some regret, Hope regretted not being able to take away the two giant weapons just now.

But seeing the armor material that Karl removed from the giant's corpse, Hope nodded happily.

The giants' equipment is quite solid in terms of materials. The armors of the two giants are enough for Carl and Hope to upgrade their equipment for a round.

"How do you plan to use these materials?"

"Of course, continue to upgrade the power armor. Do you have any equipment you want?"

Looking up and thinking for a while, Hope pointed to his feet and hands.

"You can help me make a set of combat boots and gauntlets, and by the way, help me make two axes from this material."

The hand ax previously obtained from the Mind Flayer base in the main plane was made of the most common material, and Hope was considered extremely frugal to be able to insist on using it until now.

"Okay, give me two days, and then..."

As he spoke, Hope raised a section of the gauntlet.

At this moment, a huge golden key slipped out of the gauntlet.

Looking at the huge golden key, which was at least 1.5 meters tall, Karl quickly squatted down to check.

"It's actually made of high-purity fine gold! The giants are really rich!"

Fine gold, a special metal material.

Contrary to mithril, adamantium conducts magic power very inefficiently.

But this also makes equipment mixed with adamantium materials become the "chopper team", which is the favorite of physical combat professionals such as warriors and barbarians.

The goblins who now settle in the Covaredagon area are good at smelting fine gold equipment.

Some of the equipment Karl previously obtained from the goblin tribe was also mixed with adamantine materials.

But the key in front of him is almost made of pure gold.

A long sword made entirely of high-purity fine gold can even cut through the breath of a giant dragon and pierce the scales of dragons.

But the giants made a key out of it.

"This doesn't look like a key here, the teeth are wrong."

"Could it be the key to their hometown?"

"The giants shouldn't be so extravagant, right?"

"Put it in the dimensional bag first, maybe we can make a lot of money with it after we get out."

Unable to figure out the use of the key, the two stopped thinking about it.

After putting away the half-man-high key, the two continued to check the remaining things to prevent anything from being missed.

Among the many remaining items, the two obtained two giant storage equipment.

That should be a dimensional bag with giant characteristics, the bag opening is larger than the ordinary dimensional bag, and the mass and volume of objects that can be accommodated inside are also greater.

There was nothing in the two giants' dimensional bags. Carl thought that the two giants should have taken out all the things inside and put them on before they died.

Two sets of outer skins were made with giant lizard skins. Carl used the two giant dimensional bags as inner liners and made them into backpacks, one for each of him and Hope.

This not only freed up one of Carl's magic spell quotas, but also allowed the two of them to store more things.

After the busy work, the two of them hurriedly ate a meal, then cleaned the remaining rooms and went to sleep peacefully.

There was nothing valuable in the remaining rooms, but the kitchen stove gave Carl some ideas on how to smelt metal materials.
