American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker
#418 - Alpheus [Part 1]
"Shouldn't you be focusing on what he's trying to do?" Bruce in the hospital gown spread his hands, cutting off their argument. "Clearly, he's implementing a plan to achieve some goal. Shouldn't that be your focus? What is his plan? What does he want to do?"
"You know?" Bruce stopped arguing, his gaze searching as he fell on Bruce in the hospital gown.
"I'm grateful that he helped me escape the nightmare without tampering with my memories. That memory isn't worth recalling, but the other me, or rather, the me corrupted after merging with the Joker, did leave me with some very important memories." Bruce in the hospital gown pulled out a chair, crossed his legs, and sat down. "He must have sifted through that dark memory. What he wants is to find a way to enter the Dark Multiverse. Or rather, the residence of the real mastermind behind it all."
"You know how to enter?" Bruce narrowed his eyes, while Stephen beside him quieted down, listening intently to Bruce in the hospital gown.
"Of course, I know. Barbatos dreamed of me doing just that." Bruce in the hospital gown said, then added an explanation, "Barbatos can be understood as a world-destroying dragon, the ruler of the Dark Multiverse. At least, that's what he told me. He worships despair and chases destruction. His greatest wish is to erode and destroy the stable Prime Universe, plunging it into annihilation.
The Batman Who Laughs, the dark me, borrowed his power to travel to various Dark Multiverses, gathering a group of 'companions' to act as the vanguard for an attack on the Prime Universe.
The method to open a gateway to the Dark Multiverse isn't difficult. You just need to gather five special, powerful metals, and use you, Bruce, as the vessel to meet the conditions for opening the gateway."
"Luke is right, you really are a jack-of-all-trades material. Everyone needs you, and any kind of power can be adapted to you," Stephen opened his mouth, his tone a little strange.
"He might not use me as material," Bruce said, now with a degree of certainty about Luke. It wasn't that he didn't believe Luke would spare him if necessary, but it was obvious Luke had already extracted what he wanted, making him irrelevant. Otherwise, how did this Bruce in the hospital gown come to be? Couldn't he be used as a vessel to bear the five metals?
Bruce paused, then asked Bruce in the hospital gown, "I want to know, what are the five special metals?"
"The first is Aurum, a colorless liquid metal like freshwater. It can even be drunk as drinking water, sweet and thirst-quenching, and frequent consumption can delay aging, enhance strength, and regenerate. If used as a material to forge weapons, it will give the weapon the ability to harm magical creatures like ghosts. It can also be used as a material to create armor for defensive magic.
The second is Promethium, one of the hardest metals known in the universe, the best metal for building artifacts and mother ships.
The third is Batmanium, which looks like copper but emits a red glow, like a self-powered energy light source. It is a kind of magical metal, with a very low hardness, but this does not prevent it from becoming the best high-end magic casting material, capable of amplifying the power of magic. For magicians, it is a rare material."
As he spoke, Bruce in the hospital gown glanced at Stephen beside Bruce, paused, and then said, "The fourth is Nth metal, which has the effect of making people immortal, flying, etc., and can ignore, or rather, offset gravity, and has a strong restraint effect on magical creatures.
The fifth is Dionisium. It is a green liquid metal. It occupies a very important position in the mythology you know. It's just very mysterious and difficult to observe normally. It is a symbiotic metal that can exist in the human body, usually in a recessive state, but when the host is injured or fatally wounded, it can restore the person's body. The Joker's blood contains the purest Dionisium."
"Collecting these five metals will open the gateway to the Dark Multiverse? So, they act as a key?" Bruce was also very interested in the magical effects of these metals. In his opinion, these metals could be used to upgrade and build his Bat-Suit. As for the immortality, self-healing, and other characteristics that ordinary people pursue, which would make them go crazy with joy, he didn't care much.
"You're missing one material," Bruce in the hospital gown pointed to himself, then pointed to Bruce himself, indicating that he had miscalculated. "But maybe Luke doesn't need us to open that gateway?"
"In fact, as long as there is a possible coordinate, Luke's Rainbow Bridge can teleport anyone to anywhere he wants to go. If it's Becky, she doesn't even need the Rainbow Bridge. She can go to various universes and dimensions, even timelines, at will," Stephen spread his hands. "But having an accurate coordinate will save a lot of effort and trouble."
Before the two Bruces could reply, Luke, who had left earlier, walked out again from a suddenly appearing halo. He held a black box in his hand, looked at Stephen and the two Bruces, and raised his eyebrows. "Looks like you guys had a good chat?"
"You found the five metals?" Stephen looked at the black box in Luke's hand, a little stunned. His spirituality could feel the special nature of the black box in Luke's hand, and the obscure energy fluctuations. He guessed that this should be the key to open the destination. But how long has it been since he left? He had already collected all five mysterious metals?
"It's not difficult. His head told me enough information, and the data dimension I unlocked backed up all the information I needed. I just took a trip to collect it, there was no difficulty.
Do you want to come with me to take a look? It might be a little dangerous, but I think safety can still be guaranteed?" Luke raised the black box in his hand and gestured, inviting the three.
"Of course," Bruce nodded. Although he was now missing a large chunk of emotions, with his memory intact, his former habits and responsibilities would not suddenly change drastically without external influence.
"Then let's go, borrow your monitoring room to open a door, you don't mind, do you?" Seeing Bruce's approving nod, Luke immediately activated the black box in his hand. A swirling black door quickly began to occupy the spacious monitoring room, centered on the box. Pairs of blood-red, violent eyes, like twinkling starlight, filled the black mist.
"Looks like they really want to come over, but for the sake of this world's safety, this is a one-way door that only allows entry and not exit," Luke turned a blind eye to those dense eyeballs, turned his head with a smile, and comforted the three. "Not even a speck of dust can get through the door, and it won't cause any damage to your universe."
