American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#24 - Synaesthesia Combination Test

"Just that?" Snoke was a little surprised. He had prepared himself for Luke potentially making some harsh demands, like a contract of servitude or something, but the result was just to prepare a security team for him? It wasn't that it was too difficult, but rather, it was too simple. So simple that he couldn't believe it.

"Besides your experience and skills, what else do you have that I value? Your connections in the military? Do you still have those?" Luke chuckled. "In the future, your team can serve as a reference template for the military. After I upgrade you, your outdated equipment might even sell for a high price."

"If I sign the new contract, will I be able to control that big guy?" Snoke pointed to the half-finished mechanical creation still undergoing testing.

"That's just an experimental product." Luke spread his hands, telling the truth. "It's not very practical, but it's still intimidating to display." If it weren't so wasteful and would encroach on Heberon's research funds in other areas, Luke would have really liked to build a real big guy. But thinking about it, this world doesn't have any Kaiju, so building such a large mech would only be useful for showing off his technological prowess or dismantling the related technology and selling it to recoup costs.

"Experimental product?" Snoke was a little shocked. He looked again at the mechanical creation filled with technological aesthetics and violent elements, and then looked at Luke's helpless expression. For a moment, he couldn't tell if Luke was speaking ironically or if that was really what he thought.

"Stop looking, those are just for show, for others to see." Luke called out and led him towards the interior of the laboratory.

"I always thought military technology was the domain of Stark Industries," Snoke said, becoming more talkative, even sighing with emotion. As a war soldier, if you were to ask him which military company's products he was most familiar with and willing to use, without a doubt, at least eight out of ten soldiers would answer Stark Industries. Snoke had personally verified that Stark Industries' products were indeed good.

"Tony Stark and his father Howard Stark are indeed extraordinary geniuses. Their products are naturally far superior to others." Luke didn't want to say much more on the matter and led Snoke to the next location.

"This is what I've prepared for you. It's a bit rushed. Your equipment still needs to be manufactured." Luke said, looking at the Iron Man armor in front of him with some dissatisfaction.

However, Snoke no longer had the mind to pay attention to what Luke was saying. If the mechanical creation from before looked like a semi-finished product, then what he was seeing now, the bare metal Iron Man armor without any paint, looked like a perfect work of art. Even if its creator wasn't satisfied, it didn't detract from Snoke's own vision.

"Can it be used?" Snoke couldn't wait to personally test this work. Luke shook his head without hesitation. "This is a prototype built to my body size."

"Okay." Snoke was a little disappointed.

"Your body data has already been collected. The new arm is a custom version specially made for you, with many functions, so you need to wait a little longer. If you really can't wait, I can arrange for someone to prepare a simple spare for you first," Luke said.

Snoke touched his severed arm and shook his head. "No need, I can wait."

As he was leaving, he looked back at the prototype that Luke mentioned. "Does your security require this level of equipment? Equipping a small team? If this team were to wear it and equip some weapons, it would be enough to launch a small war and capture a small country."

"Who do you think I'll be facing in the future?" Luke looked at Snoke strangely.

Hydra, various viruses or mutant beings created by research, various troublesome underground organizations, and a bunch of bizarre so-called followers of dimensional gods, plus mages, and maybe even his possible teammates in the future, and that's just Earth. This planet is too full of hidden dragons and crouching tigers. With Luke's cautious mind, it's worth being as careful as possible.

Snoke was a little stunned by his gaze.

...

Another week passed.

Testing ground of the Luke Laboratory base in the Heberon Industrial Park.

The Iron Man armor on Snoke's body opened, revealing his face, which was slightly panting.

"How long?" Snoke asked the researcher who was recording the data.

"Ten minutes," the researcher who was asked replied quickly.

"Only ten minutes?" Snoke felt the soreness in his muscles and sighed with emotion.

"Being able to maintain the fourth-stage of Synesthesia for ten minutes is already amazing," the researcher said, admiring Snoke. As a core researcher at Heberon with the authority to participate in many classified studies, he had a deep understanding of the Synesthesia system that Luke had come up with after improving and redesigning it.

The process of closely combining machinery with human neurons so that one can control machinery as easily as controlling one's own limbs is divided into five stages of the Synesthesia system.

The first stage is a bit awkward, requiring the assistance of an intelligent system to operate one's own battle suit.

The second stage allows one to control their body like a normal person, without any so-called delay.

The third stage, in conjunction with the battle suit itself, can also combine with the intelligent subsystem within the battle suit, experiencing a sense of deus ex machina, where you yourself are the machine, and the five senses and other functions are changed to technological organs such as radar. Both data processing and reaction power will be improved by an entire level.

The fourth stage is a deeper stage of integration, capable of exerting 100%, or even overclocking, of all the battle suit's performance and strength. At this stage, a large amount of physical strength is consumed to bear the pressure brought by the overclocked battle suit performance, as well as the mental pressure brought by massive data processing. At this stage, both the person and the battle suit itself are in an overloaded state.

The highest stage currently tested is the fourth stage. However, this stage is already inhuman in the minds of many informed researchers. Because the deeper the stage of Synesthesia, the closer the combination with the battle suit and intelligent subsystem, the more powerful the performance and combat power of the battle suit that can be exerted, but at the same time, the greater the pressure on neurons and the body.

Therefore, the researcher sighed and said, "Among the people who have been tested so far, the best result is only just crossing the threshold of the third stage of Synesthesia. In the fourth stage of Synesthesia, your reaction power and the depth of your combination with the machine are already superhuman. At least the performance of the battle suit has been maximized by you! If you go any further, your battle suit will have to be upgraded, otherwise it will not be able to keep up with your improvement."

PS: Today, the author group talked about materials, and they said that the American comics theme is no longer very popular. The upper limit is not high, and the lower limit is also very low. If you want to write a high-quality product, you either have to write the plot of the comics, or you have to create more novelty, otherwise, writing like before will not get good results.

I haven't really read many comics. So what I can do is try to write something different in the same event. There may be other attempts in the future. If there are any bad things written in the future, you can mention them, please don't spray.

PS2: Today's collection growth is not as high as the previous few days, but the Tuesday tracking should pass, thank you everyone!
