American comics: Starting with Luke the Maker

#22 - Magic can be fantasy, why can't technology be?

“As your partner, the most frustrating thing is that there's always endless work to do; but similarly, as someone with a strong drive for success, a partner like you who can bring me surprises every so often is also something I'm addicted to.” Ina Sandra was still immersed in the joy of just signing the first order for Hephaestus heavy helicopters. She doesn't like money, but she loves this sense of accomplishment!

“Get used to it, there will be more of this kind of thing in the future.” Luke replied casually. He was currently having a brainstorming session in his mind, filled with wild ideas.

He still very much wanted an elite team that could fully showcase his technological achievements and strength. Throughout the countless companies in the myriad worlds, who doesn't have one or two impressive, renowned elite combat teams? For Luke, building such a team was not just for security, but even more so to test his new technologies.

The Becky team was an attempt, but unfortunately, it was shelved and abandoned due to the betrayal of personnel.

But Luke's desire for an elite team that he could be proud of had not been extinguished. He had too many ideas he wanted to experiment with on this team, especially with the fourth talent potentially unlocking at any time, this wish became even more urgent.

The fourth talent, if it could be unlocked smoothly, would allow Luke to change and experiment with so many things.

For example, making the concept of technology as fantastical as magic.

To put it bluntly, if magic can be mystical, why can't technology?

The magic in this world each has its source, so when Luke forcibly extracts the concept of technology with his fourth talent, making it a bizarre power similar to magic or superpowers, why can't he be the source of technological power in this world in the future?

Knowledge?

Equipment?

Technology?

He could use some kind of technology to extract a concept with his fourth talent and imbue it with properties similar to magic and superpowers!

Creating artificial superhumans wouldn't be a dream then.

However, to constantly upgrade, improve, and bring it closer to the target outcome like a game character, it would definitely require a lot of trials and experiments, as well as a considerable amount of luck and a long period of time. Each step needs to be well-defined and executed.

For Luke, each technical update of the ideal elite team is an important step towards his goal of success. He can't just use himself as a guinea pig and play with those technologies on his own body, can he? He's not Tony Stark trapped in a desperate situation, nor does he have Tony Stark's flamboyant, life-or-death attitude towards his armor technology.

As long as he maintains absolute control and suppression of his technology, Luke doesn't mind letting others use his technology in his place.

Good or bad, it's all important data that can lay the foundation for his ideal future.

As for the crisis that may be caused by the loss of control of technology, and the subsequent impact, this can always be avoided. If it really doesn't work, he can just use an alias for new technologies that he's not sure about and work from behind the scenes.

Ina, who understood Luke thoroughly, knew that he must be thinking about something important in his mind when she saw his absent-minded state, so she immediately dismissed the idea of sharing her inner joy and became quiet and silent. She was well aware that Hephaestus Technology's rapid development to its current state was not solely due to her management skills, but rather Luke's constant stream of technological achievements that had pushed Hephaestus Technology to where it was today.

Luke was undoubtedly the core and soul of Hephaestus Technology.

So Ina was very clear about her position. Her emotional intelligence also knew what to do at what time, and when to advance and retreat.

...

Hephaestus Industrial Park.

A sturdy man, covered in dust, with only half of his right arm remaining, walked in with a backpack on his back under the guidance of a receptionist. Following the instructions, he arrived at a spacious room. Before the man arrived, many people had already come here, and like him, they each had some kind of defect. Their eyes had a similar longing, looking at a door not far away in the room. That eager look seemed to indicate that behind that door, there was something they craved.

Everyone who entered was apprehensive, and everyone who came out had a face glowing with a new lease on life!

A few people with pale faces looked like they had lost their souls. They were somewhat resentful, but under the vigilant eyes of the security guards, they left dejectedly and黯然.

After the man came in, he silently observed his surroundings, observing everything, while comparing the information his commander had told him in his mind. In the quiet and silent crowd, he was like a silent lone wolf, until he heard his name.

"Mr. Snoke, it's your turn."

The man stood up, stepped forward, opened the door, and entered the room.

The room was large, with many instruments placed in it, and a dozen researchers in white coats were busy in it, constantly recording and transmitting something into the instruments.

"Please come over, Mr. Snoke." Luke beckoned to him, signaling him to come forward. He could have entrusted today's inspection to other researchers, but after all, it concerned his first team, and he felt it was worth taking some time to pay attention and participate.

"Before you came in, I think you should have already signed the contract and know your obligations and procedures, right?" Luke looked at the silent man in front of him, who gave people a sense of stability. He had obtained relevant information from General Evra, so he was more interested in him than most people today. If his memory determination of the telepathy ceremony was correct, then his excellent qualities might make him the core figure of the soon-to-be-established team.

"Yes," Snoke replied concisely, as steady as he gave people the feeling.

"Then please wear this instrument. It will connect to your brain and neurons to a certain extent. It's harmless. During this process, you may have some deep memories that will surface. Overcome them and come out. If you succeed, you will get a ticket to return to normal," Luke said.

Snoke stood up and allowed the researchers next to him to put instruments on his body one by one. When he put on a helmet and felt a slight tingling behind his neck, his whole person fell into scenes of memories, those memorable scenes were so real, like a replay after the return of time, reappearing in his mind.

When the green light on the helmet instrument lit up ten minutes later, Luke smiled. The green light, under the monitoring of the new intelligent Terra specially compiled for this team with the code after Bai as a template, indicated that no information and memories detrimental to Hephaestus had been found in his recent memories. In other words, he was temporarily reliable.

PS1: Chasing updates on Tuesday is very important. It's best if everyone can read these two chapters to the last page today. Thank you!

PS2: I generally like authors to have their own secondary settings and brain holes in fanfics. This is a matter of opinion. The same technology may have different effects and development points in the hands of different people. For example, Kurtulmak Manus in the Pacific Rim world, although it is a lord name in the game, the technology is the mecha technology of Pacific Rim, plus the technology Luke has mastered to piece together and assemble, not the original version. I don't know if anyone can see it [such as the final modularization, Manus's assassin form, etc.]

PS3: I originally wrote a novel with no big golden fingers, similar to the kind of reality entering a world of illusion, but it was rejected by two editors in the internal submission. I had already written a lot of outlines. The rejection by the two editors hit my confidence, so I swept the list for a day and suddenly wrote this American comic article with a bit of a system and golden fingers. Then the internal submission passed quickly. QAQ... So I don't have any drafts for this book, and I heard that I can't update it too much during the new book period...
