Chapter 169 161. Beauty and the Beast (1)

"Betty, my silly daughter, why are you standing here? Why are you standing here!"

Uncle!I just got here!I don't know anything! Please stop shaking!Shaking my head is buzzing!
"My father, I just wanted to wait at the door for you to come back," she heard herself answer. "What happened? What made you look so distressed?"

"Ah!" Old Chris sighed heavily, lowering his wrinkled and callused hands in despair.

Last night, when old Chris was on his way, there was a sudden lightning and thunder in the sky, and then it rained heavily. In his hazy vision, he faintly saw a glimmer of light in front of him.He drove towards the light in his carriage, wanting to spend the night there.

Unexpectedly, the place where the light is located is a desolate and dark castle.Old Chris looked up at the sky, and the torrential rain had no intention of stopping, so in desperation, he broke into the castle.

"Is there anyone?" he called out loudly, "Is there anyone? It's raining outside, can I stay here for one night? I promise I'll leave at dawn tomorrow."

Silence answered him.

Old Chris walked to the stove, put his hands on the stove for a while, and then walked towards the dining table.Strangely, there happened to be dinner for one person on the table.

Medium-rare steak with a bowl of mushroom soup.

"Oh, the owner of this castle is so hospitable." Without thinking too much, he picked up his knife and fork and started eating.

"The guest is finally here." The gold clock whispered to the candlestick beside it.

"Unfortunately, he is an old man." Candlestick pouted.

The rain outside the door gradually diminished until a new moon exuding snow-white fluorescence appeared.

After dinner, old Chris looked outside the door and was pleasantly surprised to find that the rain had stopped.

"Hospitable host, the rain has stopped outside. Thank you for your hospitality, I will take my leave now, and may God bless your kindness." He bowed gratefully towards the stairs, and picked up the dry coat by the stove , out of the castle.

The moonlight coated the gloomy castle with a layer of silver, and Chris discovered that the surroundings of the castle were full of red roses, moistened by the rain, and they were so bright.

His daughter Betty liked roses best, and every time he went out, she begged him to bring her a rose.

With the help of the faint moonlight, he plucked a red rose that he thought was the most beautiful.

Out of the ordinary!

The originally peaceful manor was raining and snowing, and heavy snow fell one after another, hitting old Chris like hailstones.Seeing such a strange scene, Chris could only hold the rose in his hand tightly, and ran out of the castle in fear.

However, as soon as he ran to the gate of the castle, the two silver gates closed automatically.

Chris grabbed the handle of the door and shook it vigorously.

The door didn't move at all.

There was the sound of steady footsteps from behind.

Chris turned around in panic.

A young man in light blue aristocratic attire walked slowly towards him.Under the moonlight, his face was sharp and angular, and his golden curly hair revealed elegance and nobility. The cold and clear blue eyes are like the sacred pool water on the top of Tianshan Mountain, deep and alienated.

"How can a man be so greedy?" His voice seemed gentle but burned in Chris's heart like Satan, "Eating dinner is not enough, do you want to spoil my beloved rose like this?"
