Chapter 469 The Stolen Technology
Chapter 469 The Stolen Technology
"You don't belong here." The blond female agent in a tight combat uniform stood outside Captain America's cage, arms folded, her beautiful eyebrows tightly locked.
"I don't understand why you stay here," she said.
The man sitting in the cage has a vicissitudes of face, a short beard has grown on his chin, and his appearance is unkempt.Coupled with his tired, powerless look, I'm afraid it would be hard for anyone to believe that such a man was once Captain America.
"Then don't ask, Sharon." He said in a deep voice, "Listen to me once, this has nothing to do with you."
Sharon Carter, the niece of Captain America's lover Peggy Carter. She was ordered by the Commissioner to live next door to Rogers during Nick Fury's reign, serving as Captain America's bodyguard - though that might sound odd to say the least.
"As long as you say a word, there are countless excellent fighters who are willing to give up everything to rescue you." Sharon said, paused, and lowered her voice, "Maybe there are many inside the Aegis."
Rogers shook his head: "This is not what you should say. It is the bounden duty of a soldier to obey orders."
"Aunt Peggy taught me to be resourceful," she said. "She also taught me to always be on the right side. Sometimes even if the whole world tells you you're wrong, some things are worth fighting for." Persevere."
Rogers pondered for a while, then smiled self-deprecatingly.
"Yeah, it sounds like something she would say."
The communicator on Sharon's wrist rang. She turned around and connected to the communication: "This is Sharon Carter."
"Come to the bridge immediately to report." The other side of the communication informed, "The director has something to say."
"receive."
Sharon put down the communicator and turned to Rogers.
"Go." Rogers bowed his head, "The mission is calling, isn't it?"
".I will come again."
Sharon took two steps toward the door, then suddenly stopped, turned around, and said in an unclear manner: "Maybe you haven't realized it yet, but your mission is not over yet, captain. Or rather, it has just begun. "
The captain raised his eyebrows suspiciously, but she obviously didn't intend to continue explaining. She turned around, unlocked the alloy door, and strode out of the room.
When Sharon came to the bridge, it was already full of excitement. The agents were coming and going in the hall, and the search procedures were being executed on several large hanging screens, as if they were searching for something over and over again.
The command post on the bridge was empty, and their chief, Tony Stark, was standing among a bunch of surrounding computers, as busy as the comms agents.Obviously, compared to Nick Fury who is used to standing high and controlling the overall situation, Tony Stark prefers to do it himself.
As a scientist, he is more professional than 99.99% of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s engineers; and as a fighter, Iron Man can almost match the entire S.H.I.E.L.D.'s fighting power. But conversely, as a commander, he is actually not particularly good at it-cohesive, morale-inspiring, and so on. Nick Fury is much better than him in these parts.
To put it bluntly, Tony Stark is an action guy through and through. He prefers to do it himself than to say it with his mouth.
"What's the situation?" Sharon stepped forward and asked.Sharon, who returned to Aegis after the reorganization of Aegis, has gained much higher authority than before. Now she is an eighth-level agent, and she believes that she has the right to intervene in most of Aegis's affairs.
Seeing Sharon approaching, Maria Hill looked up and said, "I lost something."
"what?"
Agent Hill handed over a floating screen.Sharon took it, glanced at it, and couldn't help frowning.
"This is an arc reactor?" she asked in surprise.
"Actually, we lost a lot of things." Tony, who was busy among a bunch of screens, said without turning his head, "There are also some new weapons that have not had time to experiment and have not had time to equip the team, and there are several sets of exoskeletons. It doesn't matter anymore. It doesn't matter that all add up anyway."
Sharon stepped forward: "Because this is the core of Iron Man's technology?"
She had learned about the conflict between Tony and the military when she was in SHIELD before it was disbanded. The military has repeatedly urged and sent people to exert pressure from various fields, but they have been unable to force Tony to hand over the Iron Man technology.
"Yes and not only that." Tony frowned and said, "This is not the previous reactor, but a version that I have made many improvements. I got a technical upgrade through some unexpected channels before, this type of reactor I have been eliminated."
"But it's still a dangerous thing," Hill added.
"Of course. Even the model I assembled with scrap wires in the terrorist cave is 50 years ahead of the world." Tony said proudly.
"And its whereabouts are unknown now." Sharon's tone was a little blunt, and it even sounded a bit like she was blaming, "You screwed up, again."
Tony stopped moving his hands for a moment, and took another look at her.
"That's okay." He didn't care, turned back and continued to work, "I know my own design, I know all the parameters of the arc reactor-including the various wavelengths of radiation it emits, find it Just a matter of time."
"In fact, we have been searching for all available equipment for several cycles." Maria Hill reminded lightly, "But we have not made any progress yet."
"There will be soon." Tony said firmly, but his voice was clearly a little irritated, "All we need is a correct frequency, a band, or..."
"You have a new order, sir," Jarvis reminded.
"Huh?" Tony was puzzled, "Who sent it?"
"Unknown sender. Tracker was automatically enabled, but the request was blocked."
Tony frowned.Although there was no proof, he vaguely seemed to have guessed the identity of the sender. After all, there are not many people on this earth who can ignore the firewall of Aegis - especially in front of this firewall that he has upgraded.
The email was blank, with no text, no description, only a string of numbers—a coordinate.
The smart butler Jarvis automatically entered the coordinates into the map without ordering, and then quickly calculated and locked the location pointed by that coordinate.
That's a port.Tony synchronously called a satellite to the sky directly above the coordinates, and locked on to a dark cargo ship.
"Get ready, Jarvis." Tony started to take off his coat while stepping back, and handed the coat to Hill, "We'll go there now."
"But Director Stark," Hill frowned, "just rely on a bunch of coordinate information from someone who doesn't know, and you are ready"
"I know who sent it." When Tony spoke, the armor had covered his whole body, "Arrange a team for me to clean up the situation, and notify the local department to block the port. It may become very lively there after a while. "
