Chapter 6 Bats
That night, Bruce stayed in Howlett Manor, leaving the big bed in Wayne Manor for the first time, and actually felt a little insomnia.

Sitting at the desk, looking at the sky full of stars, although the second industrial revolution has begun, in Canada, it seems that the pollution is not serious!
The stars are like places within reach, twinkling and twinkling on the dome. The lights in Bruce's room had been turned off a long time ago, only the figure standing by the window sill looked very peaceful.

In the dark night, a bat spread its wings and flew in the manor. Explorers in this dark night are not uncommon in Alberta, especially the settlements of various manors.

Because there will be light at night in these places, which will attract those flying insects, so bats also come here to look for food. They even built a nest on the roof of the manor castle. This bat lived on the roof of the attic at Howlett Manor.

"Ah..." A scream broke the peaceful night and woke up the whole manor, not to mention Bruce who was still asleep.

So he quickly turned on the light, then opened the door and rushed towards the direction of the sound.

On the way, I met John, the manor owner in pajamas, and his wife Elizabeth.

"Excuse me, Bruce!" John said to Bruce as he walked.Elizabeth beside him also nodded to Bruce. This lady seemed to be in a bad mood every day, with a depressed face.

"No, it's James' voice, is something wrong?" Bruce asked.

"This... let's go and see together!" John didn't know what happened.

The conversation room has reached the door of James' room: "Hey... are you okay?" John opened the door and asked James who was lying on the bed.

"A bat flew in! It gave me a fright!" James' face was still pale, but his voice became a little more energized, as if his energy had improved during the night.

"What an ugly guy!" Bruce muttered when he saw the bat still flying in the air at a glance, then grabbed a rag in the corner of the wall and hit it directly.

It stands to reason that this light and fluffy rag can't hit the bat, and that's exactly the case, the bat dodged it when it turned a corner.

But at this moment, there seemed to be something wrapped in the rag, and it flew out, hitting the flying bat in the air with a slap!
"God used my hand to deal with you, how dare you scare James!" Bruce looked at the bat that fell down, and the small book that hit the bat.

"Let it go, or?" Bruce asked!

"Well, I think it's better to lock it in a cage first, and send it to the forest over there tomorrow!" John was not going to kill this ugly little creature, but he wasn't going to let it stay in the manor either.

"Okay!" Bruce didn't want to kill the bat, so a small metal cage was brought up by Alex, the night watchman of the manor. Get out.

Holding the cage in his hands, Bruce left James' room. Although Alex wanted to take over, Bruce didn't give it to him. This was the first time he caught a bat in two lives. He wanted to see this guy and the mouse What a difference!
So the cage containing the bat was carried back to his room by Bruce, and he was not sent to the distant red pine forest until the next day.

There was nothing to say all night, Bruce finally fell asleep after counting hundreds of sheep, and didn't get up until the next day at three poles!

By this time John and Mrs. Elizabeth had already had breakfast downstairs.

Seeing Bruce coming down, the two smiled at him: "Did Bruce rest well last night?"

"I think I seem to be in bed!" The dark circles on Bruce's face revealed that he didn't get a good rest last night.

"That's not a good habit! As a manor owner, you need to inspect your territory. It's a big project. If you don't come back in three to five days, what should you do?" John shook his head and said.

"I think it's going to be okay, at least I don't have to go now, don't I!" Bruce said.

"Poor Brian, he might have to wait until he wants to retire!" John and Brian had a good relationship, and they had known each other since Brian had only a few hundred acres of land.

"It's not that bad! Teenager, you should eat more vegetables, vitamin C helps you sleep!" said Mrs. Elizabeth.

In this way, without James being present, Bruce ate breakfast, changed his clothes, and prepared to send away the bat from last night!

When he returned downstairs again, James was already basking in the sun on the terrace outside the gate of the manor. He was weak and sick, and more exposure to the sun was good for his body.

"Good morning, Bruce!" James greeted Bruce.

"You are fine too! James, your complexion is much better, and you will recover soon!"

"Thank you!" There was a smile on the corner of James' mouth, and there was only a tinge of red on his bloodless lips.

"Master James, I'm here to see you!" At this moment, a voice sounded, it seemed to be the voice of a teenager.

"It's Doug!" James smiled again, and it was Doug, Thomas' son who was supposed to come.It is also one of the few playmates of James. Of course, this Doug is several years older than him, and he is already a 12-year-old boy at this time.

This Doug has been working with Thomas at Howlett Manor since he was four years old, and when Thomas was working, Doug became James' playmate.

This time, Thomas asked Doug to come here, not just for James, but for another reason.

Doug looked at the slender figure standing beside James: "Hi, I'm Doug, Thomas' son!"

"Bruce Wayne!"

"Are you from Wayne Manor?"

"Yes!"

The two got to know each other for a while, and Doug turned his attention to James. Although his father Thomas wanted to make friends with Bruce himself, how could he compare to himself?Only James is his best partner!

Taking advantage of this time, Bruce also took a look at this boy named Doug. He was tall and should have a height of 1.8 meters. Such a height seemed a bit unexpected for a 12-year-old boy. Moreover, the muscles all over his body were knotted, and he seemed to be full of explosive power.

"This is definitely not the body that a 12-year-old boy should have!" Bruce made such an evaluation of Doug.
