Chapter 84 A child cannot live without a mother!
In a corner of the library, David, who had been lying on his stomach for a long time, got up and leaned back on the chair, rubbing his sore neck.
A notebook was placed in front of him, which was given to him by Professor McGonagall, and it was densely filled with various spell-casting techniques.
Through these few days of study, David felt that his spell level had increased a lot, and he was only one practice away from being a master of magic.
"Hermione, do you want to go for a walk and rest for a while?" David asked softly. Since he finished breakfast, he was dragged to the library by Hermione, and now three or four hours have passed.
Hermione was sitting directly opposite David. At this time, she was flipping through her class notes with great interest, sorting out the main points she thought the teacher would test.
But David took a look. She almost painted the entire notebook in red. It seemed that she was going to memorize it all, and she didn't know what she was sorting out.
As for Harry and Ron?
A few days ago, Harry suddenly ran back and said that he had found evidence that Professor Snape was going to steal the Philosopher's Stone.
So he spent the past few days wandering the corridors, trying to stop Professor Snape from moving.
As Harry's good friend, Ron must have stayed with Harry.
But David felt that the protection of the Philosopher's Stone by the two of them was secondary, and its real purpose was to avoid Hermione's devil review plan.
The things on the list gave even David a headache looking at them.
"Why don't you wait a while? It's still very early!" Hermione replied, looking at the bright sunlight outside the window.
"Okay." David lay on the table again, looked at the notes in front of him, and continued to study the above skills repeatedly.
Suddenly, David smelled a strange smell, which did not belong to the library, and it was full of the smell of magical animals.
"David!" Hagrid suddenly appeared next to David, patted David's arm furtively, and tightly clutched a few books in Hagrid's arms.
Yo!
Did Hagrid read and study too?
Is it almost the end of the world?
David thought in surprise.
"Hagrid, what are you holding?" David pointed to the books in Hagrid's arms.
Hagrid was so well hidden he couldn't see the cover.
"Hush!" Hagrid stuffed the book back into his clothes in a panic, looked around, and found that no one was looking at them.
Hagrid hurriedly leaned over to David's side and said softly, "Come to my cabin this afternoon, please? I have something to ask for your help."
"Did you get another magical animal? Then you can't handle it anymore?" David said as if I was Sherlock Holmes.
Hagrid was taken aback, and muttered: "You will know when you come this afternoon, remember, you must come."
After Hagrid finished speaking, he hurried away with small steps.
"What's wrong with Hagrid?" Hermione frowned slightly, looking at the direction Hagrid left.
"It should be about magical animals." David shrugged: "I just don't know what he got this time."
"Will it be cute?" Hermione's face was full of longing.
David thought for a while and said, "Then you probably don't need to think about it. With Hagrid's appreciation level, tree monkey frogs are all beautiful in his eyes."
"Oh" Hermione's expression collapsed in an instant, and she focused on her notes again.
In the afternoon, under the mild winter sun, David led Hermione to the front of Hagrid's hut.
"Hagrid!"
The door panel was slammed by David.
Not long after, the door opened a crack, and Hagrid's bearded face poked out.
"Oh, is Hermione here too?" Hagrid looked a bit hesitant.
"What? Can't Hermione know?" David frowned: "Hagrid, what the hell did you get?"
This guy won't have brought some Grade A non-tradable goods!
That would go into Azkaban!
David's heart sank.
"Nothing, nothing." Hagrid scratched his messy hair, and seemed to have made up his mind: "Well, Hermione, after you read it, you can't tell others!"
"Harry and Ron too?" Hermione asked.
"Except for the two of them!" Hagrid said hastily.
"Okay!" Hermione nodded.
Hagrid looked around cautiously, widened the gap a little, and after putting David and the two inside, he slammed the door shut again.
As soon as he entered the door, David felt a rush of heat, as if he had stepped into not Hagrid's cabin, but a steamer in the Hogwarts kitchen.
Moreover, Hagrid closed the windows of the house tightly, and hung thick curtains. It was a scary day to look at on this sunny day!
"Hagrid, it's not so cold now, is it?" David looked at the red-burning fireplace and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Hagrid smiled, walked to the side of the fireplace, and waved to them: "Come and see, you two, I finally got it."
David and Hermione came to the front of the fireplace against the scorching heat. Inside was a large iron bucket with a large black egg in the middle.
"Hagrid, you've lost all your money!" David looked around, "Where's the knife and fork? Hagrid?"
"Knife and fork?" Hagrid was taken aback, "What do you want that for?"
"Didn't you invite us to eat baked eggs?" David pointed to something in the fireplace.
"What nonsense are you talking about!" Hagrid blew his beard angrily: "This is a dragon egg!"
Hagrid picked up the thick book on the side table, turned to a page, and pointed to a place: "Look here, the eggs of the Norwegian Ridgeback are exactly the same as mine."
"Oh, that's right!" David pretended to be surprised and said, "Then who taught you this hatching method? Looking at your posture, I thought you really wanted to treat us to baked eggs!"
"The book, it says in the book, it says that Norwegian Ridgeback eggs need continuous high temperature to hatch!" Hagrid said awkwardly.
Sustained heat?
David looked at the flames that had rushed above the dragon egg and sighed: "You roast, oh no, how long has it been hatching?"
"It just started last night." Hagrid said quickly, "Is there any problem?"
Fortunately, there is still time!
David breathed a sigh of relief, and moved the firewood out of the fireplace with a magic wand, and extinguished it with the spring water gushing from the tip of the wand. The flame in the fireplace suddenly became much smaller.
"High temperature, it's not always high temperature!" David said, "Didn't you read the book carefully? There must be more than one sentence on it."
Hagrid squatted aside silently, without replying.
David glared at him: "Use this temperature from now on. After the egg starts to shake slightly, switch to the high fire just now, otherwise you will only get a baked egg."
Hagrid nodded quickly, his eyes fixed tenderly on the dragon egg in front of him.
"Also... are you really going to raise him?" David said slowly.
"That's right, Hagrid, keeping dragons is illegal!" Hermione came back to her senses and said eagerly.
"Of course." Hagrid said to himself, "I'm its mother, so I must take care of it. A newborn baby cannot live without its mother!"
