Fire Bearer at Hogwarts

Chapter 71 After the Storm

Chapter 71 After the Storm
"Huh..." Ash took a long breath. He was standing in the shadow of the Hogwarts castle, dripping wet all over his body. Phil, who was standing on his shoulder, had already taken off his soaked bat suit.

Ash's wand moved slightly, "The flames are raging."

He set up a small fire and roasted the feathers for Phil. He didn't need anything. The dampness was nothing to him, but it made his clothes wet, making it inconvenient for him to return to the auditorium.

Thinking of this, he sat cross-legged on the ground, facing the tip of his wand with his right hand, and then silently recited a spell in his heart. When he opened his eyes again, he had already returned to the auditorium.

His current consciousness is on the fake Ash.

The movie was coming to an end, he turned his head slightly and didn't see Dumbledore and Snape, and he didn't know where the Potions professor went.

He nodded slightly to Mag, indicating that the movie was about to end, and then looked at the vacant chair with a puzzled expression.

"Embers... Dumbledore and the others have something to do." McGonagall said slowly, she couldn't see the face with the mask on, but the voice didn't seem to have any other meaning.

Binns also turned his face to look at the empty chair in doubt, but he didn't say much.

Soon, the movie ended, but these little wizards didn't seem to eat well... It seemed that this horror movie frightened them badly, at least Ash could see that more than half of the students were pale.

The prefects stood up and called out the names of their college students, holding Halloween pumpkin lanterns in their hands.

"Wait." Suddenly, a cold call came from the side passage, and the dark-faced Snape came out. He looked at the frowned little wizards who had calmed down, and said in a slightly deep voice: "Gentlemen and ladies...stay away from the west corridor on the third floor...there is now a restricted area, if anyone enters...it will be confinement." His words added a weird atmosphere to the Halloween carnival night.

More than one little wizard hugged his classmates subconsciously, and one of the little badgers subconsciously screamed, causing quite a panic.

"Please be quiet!" McGonagall shook the lion mask. "The colleges returned to their lounges in an orderly manner. The prefects and the student council presidents maintained order. Professors, please stay."

Ash looked at Binns shrugging his shoulders, showing a puzzled look, then took back the white soul and filled the somewhat unsupportable fake body.

"It's just like a movie..." Hagrid murmured, but his voice was quite loud, which aroused the subconscious fear of the students.

Mag had to cough, reminding the guard of the Forbidden Forest not to irritate the students who had just watched the horror movie. By the way, she also glared at Ash, as if blaming him for showing the students such a scary movie.

Of course, with that funny lion mask on, Ash couldn't see her stare.

As the students gradually left and the auditorium became deserted, McGonagall could not help but look at Snape and said slowly, "What happened?"

Snape frowned, he didn't know where he threw the funny hat, he thought for a while and said in a low voice: "Someone broke into the principal's office."

As he spoke, he looked around, especially staying on Ash for a longer time...

Look what I'm doing... I don't know anything, Ash put on a strange expression, looking innocent.

Snape frowned and talked to McGonagall in a low voice, during which McGonagall turned to look at Ash, then shook her head slightly, not knowing what they were communicating.

Of course, Ash can guess at a glance, nothing more than asking McGonagall if there is anything strange about him, or if he left or something...

After all, they still didn't know Biheim and Rodland, and they never thought that Ash could create a fake body and leave under their noses. The dim lights and the inconspicuous corner position became one of Ash's cover.

Soon, Dumbledore and Thom walked in in a mess.

The dress on Som's body was full of holes, his silver hair drooped, and even his glasses were shattered. Except for the barely gentle smile on his face, he couldn't see anything in common with the professor in suit and leather shoes.

In the curious eyes of the professors, Dumbledore slowly told the story of the burglary of the principal's office, Thom's discovery in time, and the story of the thief jumping into the lake to escape.

Except that the stolen items were not mentioned, the story is not much different from the facts... The kind-hearted Dean Sprout stood beside Som, helping him look at the wounds on his body.

Dumbledore watched the faculty and staff making a mess, he exchanged a few words with Snape in a low voice, then looked at Ash with a frown.

"We should martial law the school!" This is the only squib, Hogwarts night watchman Filch, he waved a pumpkin lantern and said rather dissatisfied: "It must be a student who has something good..."

Others couldn't help but froze, and Som even lost his smile. You mean a student put me down and avoided Dumbledore's pursuit, right...

Dumbledore said slowly, "Probably not a student... I saw his back, he is an adult male." His blue eyes lost the usual leisure.

"We should seal off that area and then contact the Ministry of Magic." Flitwick said slowly, he took off his red hat and walked over to Thom, helping him bind the bleeding wound on his shoulder.

Dumbledore explained a few more words, basically asking the deans of each house to tell their students to pay attention to safety, not to run around at night, and then remember to be careful when seeing strangers.

The deans nodded, and then they dispersed, and the professors also left. It is not too late now, and they have to go back and have a good rest.

Ash was about to go back with Binns, but Dumbledore nodded slightly to him, obviously he had something to say to him, so Ash had to let Binns go first, and slowed down.

"Embers, you seem to have a lot of doubts." Dumbledore asked, the two walked in the quiet corridor, and the sound of the rain outside was getting louder.

Ash nodded. "Something was stolen." He happened to want to know what he had taken too.

Dumbledore's expression was fixed, but he quickly calmed down, "Promise me, Embers, no one else should know what's going to happen next."

"Then why..." Ash asked curiously.

"Because you are also suspected..." Dumbledore's words made Ash feel terrified for a moment, but he smiled calmly on the surface, as if he took Dumbledore's words as a joke.

"Because I'm new here?" Ash asked, Dumbledore seemed to be simply probing, at least he didn't pull out his wand and cast him a killing curse.

Dumbledore nodded, and then said to himself: "The thing that was stolen is the Sorcerer's Stone..." He paused every word, looking at Ash's expression.

Ash froze for a moment, he knew about the Sorcerer's Stone, but he didn't expect it to be that ugly broken stone... "Is it the one that lives forever?" He asked, and Dumbledore nodded in acknowledgment .

"I thought it was just a legend." He said slowly, his acting skills were not superb, but Dumbledore's suspicion was only superficial, after all, Ash had never left the auditorium.

It was Thom...Dumbledore actually understood that Thom must be trying to hit the Philosopher's Stone...but Som didn't act, and even blocked the thief. Does this mean that the thief is probably not a Death Eater?Or, Thom wasn't a Death Eater.

Dumbledore was lost in thought, and the two walked in silence, before they walked to the holed corridor next to the principal's office.

There were broken rubble all over the ground, and there were a few broken crystal fragments beside the hole. Ashe pretended to be curious and picked up one, and then said to Dumbledore, "Is this left by the thief?"

Dumbledore nodded, "More than a month ago, someone died in Knockturn Alley...there is such a crystal fragment beside the corpse." He took out a piece from his robe, "Do you know what it is?"

Not only do I know, but I can also show you a hand...

Ash shook his head in disbelief, and then said, "Maybe I can study it." He took a piece and carefully put it in his pocket.

"I'm sorry to trouble you..." Dumbledore said slowly, "It seems that the darkness is getting closer and closer to us, Embers, how about your improvement of the pace of the duel?"

Ash shook his head slightly, "The progress of the students is very slow, I actually prefer to have a separate class, not in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class..."

Dumbledore shook his head, "You know it's impossible."

"So the progress will be very slow." Ash explained that he didn't expect Dumbledore to have a separate class for this.

Dumbledore nodded, and then took out a honey candy, "Happy Halloween, Embers."

"Happy Halloween, Dumbledore."
