Fire Bearer at Hogwarts

Chapter 48 Small talk before lunch

Chapter 48 Small talk before lunch
After arriving in the auditorium, there were not too many people inside. After all, it was a little later than the meal time, and most of the students had already had their meals. Even so, the food on the table did not decrease, and it still seemed to be sufficient.

Those huge roast chickens Ash was a little curious about what kind of students could eat... Oh, he thought of Ron, the boy who was feasting on the table, if it was him, it should be okay, right?
Ash smiled slightly, and then he saw Som sitting at the table, with a pair of gold-rimmed glasses under his slightly curly black hair, he was savoring the food slowly.

As if sensing that someone was looking at him, Som raised his head subconsciously, and then saw Ash walking beside him.

"Good afternoon." Som greeted Ash with a smile.

Ash nodded, and then sat next to him. It just so happened that he was curious about this possible Death Eater, so it would be nice to have a chat.

"I don't see you eating lunch." Som said casually, and picked up a piece of fried fish.

Ash took a plate of bread, "Sometimes he comes early, sometimes he comes late." Then he took a look at Som, who was very well-dressed and did not match the description of Death Eaters in those books at all.

"The fried fish at Hogwarts has always been a delicacy..." Thom lightly bit the fried fish, and his crisp voice rang in Ash's ears, "I loved it when I was a student."

Ash didn't say anything, he tore off a piece of toast and stuffed it into his mouth. He didn't like talking while eating, so he didn't rush to speak.

After he finished eating, he said slowly, "Professor Som, when did you graduate?"

Som was a little surprised. He smiled slightly and recalled, "I graduated from Hogwarts 15 years ago."

"15 years ago..." Ash thought for a while, "The mysterious man was still very influential at that time, right?" He said casually, the casual words were actually some kind of temptation.

"Yes." Thom nodded, "Many of my classmates are Voldemort's minions." Then he shrugged his shoulders with a little fear, "Fortunately, my mind was on exploration at the time."

Ash nodded noncommittally, and then gulped down the vegetable soup. Although it had no taste, the richness still made him feel much more comfortable.

"I've been to Scotland, Ireland, and Northern Europe," Thom said casually, "but I don't like it, it's too cold."

"Hmm." Ash nodded, "I didn't expect you to have such a hobby..." Som was a pure-blood surname, and his parents actually allowed him to run around instead of joining the Death Eaters or inheriting the family business.

"My parents were very enlightened." There was something magnetic in Thom's voice, "but they were still blind."

"Huh?" A simple question is one of the necessary qualities of a listener.

"They didn't support me to travel and explore. Of course, I ignored them." Som cut a steak in half, "But I really didn't find anything useful."

"Only found a slate and some gold cups and necklaces."

"It's a bit of a reward." Ash now understood where the stone slab in Som's treasury came from...it turned out to be a product of exploration.

"Those gold products can still be sold at a good price." Som cut the steak into long strips, and gracefully "ported" them into his mouth bit by bit.

After he finished chewing, he wiped his mouth slightly, "But that slate is worthless."

Ash nodded, "Compared to those purebloods who joined the Death Eaters, you are a very independent person."

Som smiled gently, without saying anything, stood up and left, "There is still class in the afternoon, I'll go back and prepare."

Ash watched him leave, and the doubt in his eyes was even more serious. Som was pretending, and Ash could see it clearly.

"Strange guy..." He muttered, and then he looked around casually, and saw Professor Snape in a black robe.

"Professor Snape." He said hello and sat down, "Long time no see."

Indeed, the two have never met each other except for the first few days of school, which is very strange, probably because Snape is too homely.

"Oh." Snape sneered, and then concentrated on dealing with the food on the plate.

"You need someone to help you with the materials, right?" Ash had already found out who Severus was from Binns.

"Hmm." Snape looked at Ash noncommittally, as if wondering what this strange guy wanted to express.

"I have two students here." Ash said casually, "George and Fred, they can help you tonight."

Snape snorted angrily, he didn't seem to like these two troublemakers very much, but when he thought about wasting time dealing with medicinal materials...

"I see." He nodded, indicating that he understood.

"Is there anything else?" The same cold voice almost made Ash feel that he was talking to himself.

Ash shook his head, then stuffed the bread into his mouth.

"I heard that you used to be a Death Eater?" Ash asked casually. This was what he inquired from Binns. It happened that he was a little suspicious of Thom, so why not ask a professional.

Who knew that Snape snorted coldly after hearing this, and then looked at Ash with serious eyes: "Don't ask about things you don't understand, Embers..."

After finishing speaking, he stood up, shook his robe and left.

Ash smiled slightly, knowing that he was a bit abrupt, and ate the food on the table on his own, while observing the professors and students coming and going in the auditorium.

Snape was definitely more of a Death Eater than Thom...in line with the books.

It has to be said that there is a difference between people who can pretend and those who can't, and Ash, the Potions professor's commentary, understood it in just a week.

Gryffindor killer... If all Slytherin students are like him, it's not hard to understand why everyone hates Slytherin snakes so much.

If it were me, I wouldn't like such a professor who put on shoes for me in class, would I?In fact, without rhetorical questions, Ash would definitely not like it.

In fact, there are quite a few professors like this in the Dragon Academy... Ash reminded a little of his former teachers... Well, except for the one who was close to his father, the other teachers seemed to have such a temper.

It's been too long, and Ash can't remember clearly. Of course, there is no need to remember such things. A group of people who don't know how many years have been dead.

Looking at the gradually shrinking crowd, Ash also understood that the lunch time was coming to an end. He wiped his mouth, stood up and walked towards the office... to clean up the classes of the second graders in the afternoon.

I hope they can master the Stunning Spell today, no one has mastered it in the last class.
