Marvel Administrative Officer

Chapter 73 New Puzzles

Chapter 73 New Puzzles
After sending Rose away, Jack returned to the office and saw Tony with a gloomy face.

Tony, who learned the truth about his parents' death, was far less relaxed than he showed.

Tony stood up under Jack's gaze, and he walked up to Jack and said calmly:

"Howard Stark worked with his father since he was a child, and later founded Stark Industries."

"He was a mechanical prodigy, constantly inventing new technologies and finding ways to improve them."

"He designed weapons and equipment that revolutionized world industrial equipment. At a young age, he was involved in various WWII government projects such as the creation of Captain America's shield during WWII and the Manhattan Project."

Jack nodded and said, "Howard Stark is a brilliant man."

But what does Tony mean by that?
Is it interesting to keep praising your father?
Fortunately, Tony didn't have the vulgarity of charades, he asked directly:

"Who is that man with the steel arm in the video? Who is he assigned by and what is your relationship with them?"

Facing Tony's three consecutive questions, Jack frowned. He didn't know how much Tony knew, so he could only say vaguely:
"I do not understand what you are saying?"

Tony was obviously not satisfied with this answer, "What price do I have to pay to get all the information."

"Mr. Stark, I don't understand a word you said." Jack walked around Tony and sat down in front of the sofa. "I'm glad to meet you, but there seems to be no friendship between us."

"That's enough, don't go around in circles anymore, you called my office anonymously and threw the information on my bedside." Tony said angrily.

"Why should I call you anonymously? What do you mean by the information?" Jack desperately denied.

"You thought you were doing it secretly?" Tony asked sternly.

"I haven't done anything. Your groundless accusations make me puzzled. What are you talking about?"

Tony was at a loss for words for a moment. Although he was sure that Jack was the caller, he really didn't have any evidence. Facing Jack's denial, Tony had nothing to do.

"I can give you money!"

"I'm not short of money."

After Jack finished this sentence, he was determined. Tony seemed to have no evidence, so he could only use lures.

"What exactly do you want?"

If it was the future, Jack would really like the steel suit, but now Tony doesn't seem to have anything that can attract Jack.

"Okay, Mr. Stark, you came to my house inexplicably and asked me to hand over some information. I don't understand what you are talking about at all. If you don't have something more nutritious, please leave my house."

"I'll let you tell me everything you know."

Leaving a harsh word, Tony turned and left.

Looking at Tony's back, Jack raised his glass, obviously this time he had offended Tony Stark severely.

The reason why the Howards were murdered involved Hydra. Now Hydra is backed by S.H.I.E.L.D., which is an endless trouble. Jack doesn't want to cause trouble for himself yet.

So Tony can check it himself, but Jack must not say it.

Just a video, how much can the genius Tony find out? This is a big question.

Early the next morning, Jack got up to read the newspaper and have breakfast as usual.

Today's newspaper is a bit special. Hammer almost bought all the headlines to apologize to Jack. Sure enough, having money is the last word. Hammer successfully used money to snatch Tony's headlines, which can be regarded as his victory over Tony in disguise.

Jack saw the action of General Ross. He called Cheney and told him to deal with the equity issue of Hammer Industries. Although he wanted to make Ross better, the benefits he should strive for must not be less. Who would think that the money is too much.

Later, Jack came to the city hall.

Today's city hall is very lively. After a day of fermentation, everyone knows what Tony said at the welcome banquet. Countless calls flooded into the city hall, and Richard is struggling to deal with it.

Jack walked briskly through the busy staff office and came to Snader's mayor's office. Katie, who had always stood firm at her post, was not there at this time, so Jack had no choice but to knock on the door of Snader's office.

"Don't bother me." Snader's voice came from the office.

Jack pouted, and pushed open the office door.

"Sorry, Mayor Snard, I have something important to do."

Seeing that the person who entered the door was Jack, Snader's original angry expression immediately disappeared, and this face-changing kung fu was perfect,

"You are really a rare visitor, Jack, if I hadn't seen you, I would have forgotten that you were my aide."

"Don't say that, Mr. Mayor, the renovation of Eighth Avenue is going well, and I think I'm quite competent." Jack sat down at his desk with a cheeky face.

"Richard told me that you played a key role in the matter of Stark Industries." Snader looked at Jack suspiciously, and deliberately said the word "key" very strongly.

It is not a wise move to get involved with Stark Industries at this time.

Jack denied: "I just used my status as a shareholder to make a good-faith recommendation. As for what Tony did, I have nothing to do with it."

Snard nodded. He actually didn't believe that Tony's wayward behavior had something to do with Jack, and Jack was not a good person to blame.

"So, you came to see me, what's the matter?"

After thinking briefly, Snader asked.

Jack heaved a sigh of relief. Snader had passed the test. Fortunately, he had adopted a conservative attitude in front of Richard. Otherwise, he would lose at least half of his political future when he met Tony, a man who did not play cards according to common sense. .

"I want to talk about the Eighth Avenue special bill."

Snader smiled wryly, "Do you think I still have time to push this bill?"

"I want to know your attitude, and I can do the rest by myself."

After careful consideration, Jack realized that Snader's work for the next year would revolve around the Stark Industries Group, but Jack himself could not sit still. Nader doesn't hold himself back.

"In principle, I..."

"Jingle bell! Jingle bell!"

Before Snyder could finish his sentence, his internal phone rang.

After gesturing to Jack, Snader picked up the phone and only listened for a few seconds before his face changed drastically and he glanced suspiciously at Jack back and forth.

Jack realized instantly that the call was related to him!

Whose call could it be, and what is it for?
Two more questions arose in Jack's mind.

Snyder hung up the phone, "Jack, what's your relationship with Tony?"

"What happened?"

"During the relocation negotiations that just took place, Tony decided to put his new business address in Hell's Kitchen, next door to the Joyo Building, and he's already bought ownership of two buildings."

"He said the reason for his decision was the friendship between you two."

Jack smiled wryly in his heart. It really was Tony's style. Why didn't he pester Hydra and the Winter Soldier, instead he seemed to be fighting with himself?

"Mr. Mayor, I just met Tony for the first time yesterday, and his decision has nothing to do with me."

"You think I'll believe that?" Snyder sneered, "If I remember correctly, Tony used the word 'coercion' in his speech."

Sure enough, Jack's worries came true, and someone still paid attention to Tony's words.

But can Jack admit it?
he can not.

"Believe it or not, I really have nothing to do with Tony, and I haven't coerced Tony into making any decisions. I think all of this is Tony's new willfulness."

"Really?" Snader was full of disbelief, but instead of dwelling on the matter, he said, "I will cooperate with you in passing the Eighth Avenue special bill, including the deportation of illegal immigrants."

Jack knew that Tony's new wayward decisions had changed Snyder's mind.

If Tony really takes the initiative to place the company's headquarters in Hell's Kitchen, then the mayor of New York will benefit the most.

Although inconsistent, this is also the performance of a good politician.

Snyder taught Jack another lesson.
