Chapter 69 Prom
On the day of the Christmas ball, the auditorium was full of people.

The surrounding walls were covered with silver frost.Decorated in garlands of hundreds of sprigs of mistletoe and ivy, the ceiling is illuminated by the Milky Way on a winter night, and flakes of magical snowflakes fall in mid-air into shimmering silver mist.

The four college dining tables were gone, and replaced by more than 100 small round tables lit with lanterns. The warm orange lights complemented the silver snowflake decoration of the auditorium.

In front of the auditorium was a long rostrum, where the five referees of the Triwizard Tournament had already taken their seats.

On both sides are two staff dining tables arranged symmetrically. On one side are the professors from Hogwarts, and on the other side are Umbridge and the security guards. Peter stands at the door and looks at the tall man. Sirius stood out among the security guards.

Peter walked towards the professors' desks and sat on a side seat on Hagrid's right. Hagrid was obsessed with looking at Madame Maxime in a purple robe, without even noticing Peter's appearance.

The middle seat of the teacher's seat was vacated by everyone in a tacit understanding, because none of the four deans were seated, and they were maintaining order in their respective colleges.

The Slytherins came up the steps from their underground common room.

Malfoy led the way in a black velvet tuxedo gown with a high collar, flanked by his dance partner Pansy Parkinson, whose pale face and suit made him look like a 100-year-old vicar.

Snape, surrounded by the Slytherin students, was gesturing and telling him something. When the students all took off their black school uniform robes and put on gorgeous colorful robes, Snape's black clothes looked even more out of place.

To be fair, he had taken the occasion of the Yule Ball seriously enough.

Instead of his usual floor-sweeping robe with a hood, he wore a knee-length black tuxedo that rarely showed trousers and boots, which made him less like a bat floating in mid-air .

Students from the four colleges, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons all walked into the center of the auditorium. They mingle with each other, make friends with each other, and shuttle among hundreds of small round tables.

Professor McGonagall squeezed out from the crowd. She was dressed up today, wearing a wizard hat decorated with garlands, and a red robe with wide cuffs and hem hanging to the ground. A Scottish-style plaid scarf was elegantly draped on her shoulders.

She went to the four small round tables closest to the rostrum. "Warriors and dancers, please come here!" she shouted.

Fleur Delacour and Roger Davis came out. Delacour had Veela blood, her silver hair was shining, and Davis couldn't leave her eyes for a moment. After Qiu failed, he couldn't believe that he could find such a good dance partner.

Cedric and Cho Chang also came out, and then Harry and Ron.

Professor McGonagall's lips pursed sternly, "Potter, you can't be with Weasley, you have to find a partner of a different gender than you!"

Both Harry and Ron were stunned, and then Ron turned around and ran back to Padma Patil with a flushed face. A few rough threads were conspicuously dangling from the cuffs of his dark purple women's robe As she spoke, Padma had a straight face, her face was ugly.

From behind the crowd, Parvati Patil was anxiously pulling herself out. She certainly looked beautiful, her jet-black hair braided with gold thread, but the gold bracelet adorning her arm got tangled in Vic. On Dor Krum's cloak.

Professor McGonagall was a little confused, "Mr Kroom, is your partner Miss Patil?"

"No, Professor McGonagall, Parvati is my partner." Harry explained awkwardly.

Viktor Krum just made a low grunt.

All seven of them walked to Professor McGonagall, when a beautiful girl in a light blue robe walked out quickly. He passed Harry and Ron, his long brown hair pulled into an elegant bun on top of his head.

Peter had never seen this girl before, maybe she wasn't a student at Hogwarts, Harry and Parvati both turned to look at her suspiciously.

"Hello, Harry!" she said, smiling, showing two oversized front teeth. "Hello, Parvati!"

Harry was dumbfounded by the familiar voice - it was Hermione.

But apart from the iconic die, she doesn't look like Hermione at all. After unloading the burden of a dozen books, her temperament is completely different. Standing next to the international superstar Krum, she is nervous. And smiling gracefully.

Professor McGonagall told the warriors to hide behind the foyer first, wait for the other students to take their seats, and then line up into the auditorium two by two. They had to stay in front of the podium for a while, and finally sat in the front four on the round table.

"...Do you know how to enter the arena later? The warrior and the dance partner should link arms, pay attention to the robes and skirts under your feet, and don't trip yourself..."

At this moment, Sirius stood up from the security officer's table opposite, slipped to Peter's table along the gap between the two rows of faculty tables, and squeezed Peter into the empty chair next to him with a smile, occupying Peter's seat himself. Chair, sat between Hagrid and Peter.

"How did you come here?"

Sirius muttered, "I can't stand the boring people at the Ministry of Magic, and that Dawlish is more rigid than a statue - I hope there's room for this table."

"There should be more, I'll see if Professor Trelawney is here today—" Peter looked to the right side of the teacher's table, but there was Professor Trelawney sitting next to Professor Bubbaji.

She was fiddling with tarot cards on an empty plate in front of him, and Peter could vaguely hear her muttering: "...the devil: the devil is breaking free from his chains; Five of Wands: fire, strife, unsatisfied desire... no No no, what is this?"

Distraught, she scrambled all the tarot cards and took a sip of the sherry she brought.

So Peter had to conjure up an extra chair, barely between himself and Sirius, and Hagrid moved awkwardly to the left to give them a little space.

The four deans finally seated the students in the auditorium in their proper positions, and Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout returned first.

Peter hadn't seen Professor Flitwick just now, probably because he was too short; Professor Sprout had changed out of his old, muddy clothes, the first time since Peter's own school days Saw no patches on her clothes.

Both of them sat in the middle right two seats, next to Professor Sinistra, the astronomy teacher.

Soon, Snape also came back, and Peter didn't realize what was going to happen next

Snape froze in place with a gloomy face - there were only two empty seats left, and the middle one obviously belonged to the Vice-Headmaster, Professor McGonagall, which meant that Snape would be next to Peter and Sirius.

Sirius raised his head and saw Snape's bruised face, his smile froze instantly. Since he came to the school for a month, he has been living in the Dragon Arena and never met Snape in person.

But this time, the eyes of the enemies met.
