Chapter 53 Draco's Fear
This open class on Defense Against the Dark Arts set off a new trend in the school.

The students were talking about the duel demonstration between Professor Peddie and Professor Snape, about the flaming blue fire shield and the disarming spell that was so powerful that it could shatter marbles.

This class allowed the students to know what the real Defense Against the Dark Arts is. Everyone was fascinated by joining the Defense Against the Dark Arts club, and fantasized that they would be able to join such a gorgeous duel one day.

The auditorium was full of students practicing duels, even the Slytherin students. They held the "Wizard Combat Guide" and tried their best to practice the disarming spell, just to get the duel points three times a day.

You can get 10 points for winning a game, and you will also deduct 10 points for losing a game. The difference between the points of the two sides is more than 50 points, and the score will not be recorded.

If two students get into a fight like Flint and Davis did, their points will simply be wiped out, as will offenses like attacking a student who isn't wearing a dueling badge, colluding with a friend to rack up points.

Even though Peter used this scoring rule to avoid safety accidents, the infirmary was still overcrowded. During lunch, Madam Pomfrey looked at Peter even a little like Severus Snape.

For example, when Alicia Spinnet of the Gryffindor Quidditch team was reading in the library, she was attacked with a curse from behind by a Slytherin student, causing her to grow eyebrows and look at everything Gone, now lying in the infirmary for treatment.

To be honest, Spinnet would have been attacked with or without the dueling badge, and it wasn't fair for Madam Pomfrey to blame Peter for this, but Peter regretted not adding a permanent blocking function to the dueling badge.

Peter did not relax his protection of Harry, as long as there was no class, he would look at Harry not far or near.

Whoever the assailant was, Harry was clearly his target, and it would be a good idea to wait by Harry's side.

On Friday afternoon, Harry, Ron, and Hermione came to the dungeon for class, and Peter escorted them not far away. In order to avoid the trouble of explaining to Harry, he cast the Disillusionment Charm on himself.

When they reached the classroom door, a small group of Slytherins were already waiting outside.

Two Slytherin girls were using this time to practice a duel, and Peter recognized them as Pansy Parkinson and Millicent Bulstrode. Maybe Hermione would say it was a duel between a poodle and a hag, but Peter was almost touched by the enthusiasm of the Slytherin students.

Snape's opinion is indeed very useful to Slytherin students who focus on personal interests. The 300 House Cup bonus points, generous rewards and powerful power attract them.

No wonder, Snape himself was a textbook Slytherin.

"Expelliarmus!" Millican yelled in a thick, rough voice, but all that came out of her staff was a puff of foul-smelling yellow smoke.

"Expelliarmus!" Pansy didn't feel much better, a few sparks appeared from the tip of her staff.

They were swinging their wands in the wrong way, Peter took a good look at their badges and it turned out to be a shiny blob, his respect for them was all but gone, they definitely hadn't read the Wizard's Combat Guide.

"Stop practicing!" Malfoy said angrily, covering his nose. "You want to join that shabby club on Peddie Road. I've had enough of one class. It's boring and tiring."

Hearing Malfoy's groundless accusations against Peter, Hermione immediately raised her head to refute him, "Come on, I think you're just afraid of Professor Snape."

"Shut up, Mudblood." Malfoy frowned and threw out such a sentence. The iconic sarcasm on his face had disappeared for a long time, and now he was only bored, and even a little haggard.

"Malfoy, what are you talking about?" Ron took his wand out of his pocket without thinking.

"Ron!" Hermione quickly persuaded him, "There's no need to be as knowledgeable as him."

"Okay, come on, Weasley," Malfoy pulled out his wand and said a few words through his teeth, "it's just what I want."

Even when confronting Ron, he looked completely different from usual. His anger was not the original domineering, but a long-suppressed outburst.

"What are you doing here?" said a low voice.

Here comes Snape.

Both Malfoy and Ron lowered their wands, especially Malfoy, whose body seemed to deflate at the sight of Snape, his gray eyes full of terror.

"Malfoy, Weasley, if you fight at the door of the classroom again, both of you will be put in confinement, okay, go in."

His right hand nudged Malfoy's shoulder impatiently, urging him into the classroom.

But Malfoy's reaction was beyond everyone's expectations. He screamed and crouched on the ground trembling, his body curled up like a hedgehog, tears of fear gushing from his gray eyes, "I-I- —I beg you—”

Peter, who was invisible not far away, felt very suspicious. Harry, Ron and Hermione gave each other winks. The Slytherin students were as puzzled as they were, and Crabbe and Goyle usually had puzzled faces. got even dumber.

Snape looked down at Malfoy, with an unfathomable expression on his face, paused for a moment, then grabbed Malfoy's arm roughly, trying to pull him up from the ground, but Malfoy's body seemed to be boneless, In a heap on the floor.

"What are you doing?" Snape asked sharply, staring Malfoy in the eyes.

Sobbing, Malfoy shook his head desperately, trying to get out of Snape's grasp, when he touched Snape's fingers, his expression changed, and he seemed to calm down a little.

"I'm sorry, sir, I..." He stood up slowly, still sobbing, and Snape's patience seemed to be completely exhausted.

"You have delayed everyone's class time by 3 minutes. If you do this again, you will win yourself three months of confinement. Now, immediately."

The students entered the classroom one after another. Snape glanced at Peter's hiding place and slammed the door of the dungeon behind him.

Peter canceled the illusion spell and walked to his office.

All the way he was thinking about what he had just seen.

He'd discovered Draco's uncharacteristic fear of Snape early on, but it was incomprehensible to such an extent.

Had Snape done something very egregious to Draco?
Or, had Draco done something egregious to Snape - like setting traps in hallways, and now feared his retaliation?
Whatever the reason, Peter had Draco Malfoy on his list of investigations.
