Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Peter
Chapter 34 Kreacher's Letter Home
Chapter 34 Kreacher's Letter Home
Sirius' face was revealed in the fire in the Gryffindor common room, and he watched for a moment to make sure the common room was empty.
Soon, Sirius and Peter emerged from the fireplace, returning to the place where they lived together in their school days, both of them with smiles on their faces.
"Do you remember the night tour we wore James' invisibility cloak?" Sirius said excitedly, "I miss the thrill of sneaking out in the middle of the night so much."
"Now we're going to let Harry and the others learn badly," Peter said with a smile, "We're still godfathers and professors just like us."
The two walked carefully to the door of the boys' dormitory. Sirius cast a spell on the door, and the door opened a crack soundlessly. Peter turned into a mouse and slipped into Harry's bedroom through the crack.
All five children in the house were fast asleep, Neville snoring the loudest.
Peter quickly locked Harry's position through the small hornet model on Harry's bedside table.
The little hornet was curled up, sleeping comfortably on a few sheets of parchment, snoring lightly, and spewing a few strands of steam from its nose.
Peter jumped onto the chest of drawers, followed the chest of drawers to Harry's bed curtain, and finally jumped onto Harry's face.
His four little paws scratched Harry's eyelids, and Harry grunted and woke up.
Harry was sleepy, his back seemed to be glued to the bed, and Peter grabbed his collar, pulled him out of the bed, and dragged him to the floor.
Then Peter pulled Ron up as well, and the two children were driven from the bed by a little mouse to the door of the bedroom as if they were sleepwalking. A big black dog was squatting at the door, grinning and sticking out its tongue.
Seeing the big dog, Ron woke up in fright, "Dog spirit—" Ron almost shouted, but fortunately Peter pinched his lips together with two small pink claws just in time.
"Sirius?" Harry rubbed his eyes, wondering.
Ron was taken aback by the sudden jump of the mouse in his face, and he roughly tore Peter from his mouth and threw him to the ground.
"Ron, don't do that," Harry hurriedly stopped him, "That's Professor Peddie!"
"what?"
Under Ron's surprised gaze, the mouse and the black dog turned into Peter and Sirius.
Peter didn't care about Ron's rough treatment, "We are two Animagus, that is, wizards who can transform into animals." He explained, "But we are both unregistered and illegal Animagus, So don't go out and talk nonsense."
"I'm sorry, Professor Peddie..." Ron said vaguely, his face flushed, even his ears were red.
"Why did you wake us up so late, did something happen in school again?" Harry asked with some concern.
Sirius smiled wryly, "Nothing happened at school. The one who gave us problems is Kreacher—Harry, you may still remember him, that is the house elf of the Black family."
As he said that, Sirius took out a dirty envelope, and pulled out a piece of crumpled letter paper in disgust. A dozen wriggling maggots were brought out by the letter paper and fell to the ground.
"Damn Kreacher, he cast a disgusting spell on the envelope," he said darkly. "Let me read this 'touching' letter he wrote me home."
He read the letter flatly:
"Dear Master Sirius, Brackets, a vile and shameless prodigal son, broke the hearts of the whole family."
"Hearing that you returned from abroad a few days ago, Kreacher felt extremely happy, brackets, alas, what a pity, why didn't he die abroad?"
"Please hurry back to No. 12, Grimmauld Place. Kreacher welcomes you back. Parentheses, poor mistress. Without Master Regulus' request, Kreacher would never allow this despicable pure-blood traitor to set foot on the ground." Threshold into the old house of the Black family."
"Kreacher has written you 18 earnest letters home, but you are so busy with your schedule, young master, that you couldn't take the time to reply. Parentheses, this dirty criminal must have deliberately ignored Kreacher."
"Please be sure to return before the weekend, otherwise Kreacher will take extreme actions, including but not limited to murder and suicide."
"Your loyal servant, Kreacher, brackets, it would be great if Kreacher could have the honor to serve the honorable Master Draco!"
Sirius finished reading the letter solemnly, and stuffed the letter back into the maggot-filled envelope with a pursed mouth, but Harry and Ron couldn't help but feel a little funny when they heard it.
"What are those 'brackets'?" Harry asked, trying to suppress a smile.
"Kreacher has lived alone for too long, and his mind is not normal. Now he can't tell the difference between what is in his heart and what he actually says." Sirius frowned and said, "That's why I called you The reason for waking up, I don't want to be alone with him."
They didn't go to call Hermione. The girls' dormitory at Hogwarts was protected by magic, and men couldn't go in. Peter planned to pick her up alone the next morning, and bring Harry and Ron's clothes along the way.
The Fat Lady was still asleep in the portrait, and instead of disturbing her, they sprinkled a handful of Floo powder and teleported it back to Peter's office.
"Should we keep Filch out of the way," Harry asked, "or do professors have the power to remove students from the school?"
"We'd better avoid Filch, I don't want to waste my breath," said Peter.
He tapped his desk with his wand, and an old parchment flew out from the bottom drawer.
Peter reached out and grabbed it, and Sirius froze for a moment before laughing, and Harry and Ron wondered why this old parchment was so funny to Sirius.
"The Marauder's Map!" Sirius said loudly, "So this thing is with you! I thought it must be kept by James!"
"James thinks that if it's in his house, Harry will get it out of the cupboard sooner or later," Peter said. "James and I have hardly used the map since you and Lupine dropped out of school."
The smile on Sirius' face faded, "Yeah, four people became two people, and..."
He didn't say any more, but Peter knew what was on his mind.
The Marauders' Map was created by the Marauders to snipe Snape.
Snape had been tirelessly spying on the marauders in action, looking for evidence that they had violated school rules so they could be expelled.
It bored them so much that James and Sirius were placed in detention many times.
And after having this map, Snape never succeeded again.
No matter how well hidden he is, marauders can easily find his name on a map.
The same thing happened with the Screaming Shack.
Snape followed Lupine secretly, and Sirius found him through the map and told him that the Screaming Shack was very interesting...
Afterwards, Snape died.
In a sense... the mission of the Marauder's Map is accomplished...
