Chapter 27 Peter and Gwen (Seeking follow-up reading)
Even when Peter walked out of Osborne Building, he still couldn't forget the scene he had just seen.

His hands and feet were cold and his mind was blank.

"Dr. Connors is a lizard man, why would I have such a dream?"

But he knew it was not a dream.

Although Connors looked like himself just now, his personality was completely different from before.

More importantly, Peter saw the rat that they had used for research a week ago - it had completely mutated, becoming larger than a dog, and was cruelly eating other small animals in the laboratory.

At that moment, Peter understood where the lizard man who appeared on the Williamsburg Bridge last night came from.

"I killed him!" He was filled with intense self-blame.

"If I hadn't told the doctor about my father's formula, he wouldn't have used his own body for experiments, and he wouldn't have turned out like that!"

He felt like he had screwed up again.

Screw it up every time.

But when he arrived at the police station, he realized how naive he was.

"What I said is true, Mr. Sheriff!"

"Okay, Mr. Parker." George Stacy interrupted Peter forcefully.

"Mr. Kurt Connors is a famous scientist and a doctor, not Godzilla as you said."

As he spoke, he took off his police uniform and put on a suit.

He had better things to do than talk nonsense to a delusional boy.

That is to pick up my daughter and go home to enjoy the lemon sea bass that I missed last night with my family.

"What I said is true!"

Peter anxiously stood in front of him.

"Dr. Connors has been researching cross-species genetics, but his experiment failed and he turned into a lizard man! It was Spider-Man who stopped him last night-"

Stacy stopped when she heard Peter say this.

"Spider-Man stopped him?" He looked at Peter, "Or I have another explanation."

"That means the masked spider monster and the lizard man are actually in the same group!"

George Stacy gets angry when it comes to Spider-Man.

Last night the entrance to the police station was covered with gang members, and it was all the work of Spider-Man.

Isn't this a provocation to the NYPD?

Who does he think he is!

"What, how can you say that?" Peter looked at him in disbelief and was about to argue with him when a pleasant voice sounded behind him.

"Peter Parker?"

Peter turned around and saw a blonde girl standing behind him.

"You are, Gwen Stacy?"

Peter was a little surprised.

Of course he knew Gwen, but Gwen Stacy was even more dazzling than Liz, whom he had always liked. He didn't expect to see her here, let alone that she knew his name and greeted him. "You, why are you here?" he asked stutteringly.

Gwen turned her head and looked at Peter and George through them. The Sheriff suddenly realized something. He originally thought that Peter was just an ordinary wishful thinking student, but now it seems that this kid is actually a yellow-haired guy!
Okay, okay, the will-o'-the-wisp has even reached the police station. You really think you’re the boss, don’t you?
George Stacy's look towards Peter turned unfriendly.

He reached out and roughly pushed Peter away, then said, "She came to see her father, do you have any objection?"

"Dad!" Gwen shouted at George unhappily, and George immediately gave in.

But he still didn't give Peter a good look: "Okay, classmate Parker, I have to go."

George pulled Gwen away, and Gwen waved goodbye to Peter as she was pulled away.

Normally, Peter would have been overjoyed if he had been treated like this by a beautiful girl, but now it was different. He was thinking about Connors, and his heart felt as heavy as if it was filled with stones.

After leaving the police station, Peter felt that the haze in his heart was still lingering.

"If the police don't believe me, then I'll just have to find Dr. Connors myself," he thought.

Connors is now very dangerous. Peter doesn't know what changes the lizard serum has brought to him, but it is obvious that the mutated rat in the laboratory has become very aggressive.

"Where the hell should I go to find him?"

"It would be great if Ben could work with me, otherwise I might still mess this up."

In his eyes, Bant is simply a synonym for omnipotence.

No matter what he does, he will make a mess, but Bant can handle it well. In the past, when he was bullied by Lightning, Bant always helped him out.

Peter sighed and finally decided to go back and ask Bant for help.

On the other side, George and his daughter got into the police car.

"Tell me about it." As a father, Stacy was not in a good mood right now.

"say what?"

"What about you and that boy? Are you in love?" George asked seriously, "Don't fool me. I can tell at a glance that your relationship is not normal."

"What?" Gwen screamed. "What are you talking about, Dad? I don't even know him! We're not in the same class!"

Gwen argued in a panic.

In fact, what she said was true. Although Peter and she were not classmates, she had noticed Peter a long time ago.

He has excellent grades, is a nerd and a nobody, looks weak, but has a strong sense of justice.

Gwen saw Peter several times standing up for other students who were being bullied by Flash Thompson.

Lightning would tolerate it once or twice for Bant's sake, but if it happened too many times, he would attack Peter. But Peter never became a coward just because he might be taught a lesson and made a fool of himself.

"Dad, what does Peter want from you?"

"Peter?" George repeated in a strange tone, thinking that he could not keep his daughter when she grew up.

You call each other so intimately, and yet you say there’s nothing wrong between the two of you?
But what can he do?

Then he grabbed the steering wheel, started the car, and replied in a helpless tone: "He said that your teacher, Dr. Connors, was the lizard man who appeared on the Williamsburg Bridge last night."

"It's crazy!" George was still angry when he said this.

Gwen was Connors' assistant when she was interning at Osborne, and Connors generously offered to write a college recommendation letter for Gwen.

But Peter Parker said he was the Lizard, which is unreasonable!
Gwen was also surprised that her teacher was involved.

But she said, "Dad, Peter hardly ever lies. Maybe he has discovered something. And—"

"It seems that something went wrong with Osborn. The Doctor sent a message this morning saying that we should all be given the day off."

Gwen's face was filled with worry.

George's hands froze in place and the engine suddenly stalled.

He picked up the walkie-talkie.

"Attention all departments, immediately investigate all information on Kurt Connors."

The Gwen in this universe will be left to Peter, because it is really hard to let go of Garfield and Stone. Let's wait and see the Gwen in other universes. The heroine will accept it, but the emotional line will not be the core.



