Chapter 16 Before the Storm
Arriving at the first floor of S.H.I.E.L.D., in the bright reception room, Steve was sitting upright on the sofa. On the coffee table in front of him was a device for projecting virtual imaging.

When Nick approached, he saw Steve, the Captain America who seemed omnipotent to outsiders, stroking his chin with a worried look on his face and lowering his eyes.

Then Nick saw a figure appear in the projected image. The man was wearing a suit, with sharp eyebrows and a sense of arrogance. However, looking closely at his expression, his eyes were bloodshot and there was some fatigue on his face that was difficult to conceal.

"Mr. Stark, huh? What's up with your sudden visit?"

Nick looked at Steve's serious face on the sofa and knew that the two of them had probably chatted for a while before he arrived, and it didn't seem like the chat was very pleasant.

"Fury, one of my suitcases is lost." Tony said straight to the point without any hesitation.

Nick raised his eyebrows. Why did Tony come to SHIELD when he lost something? Did they have to do part-time police duties and help catch thieves?

Tony didn't wait for Nick to speak, and continued:
"That box... came from my father, if I remember correctly... it contained some top-secret information that he copied from his previous job at SHIELD."

Tony looked at it with a headache, he only knew that it was something his father left for him, until the things were stolen and he went to look through his father's notebook, only then did he realize that the things inside were extremely unusual.

It is very likely that these are the relevant experimental data recorded by the American top leaders when they were researching extraordinary life and mutants!

Tony didn't know the specific content of the experiment, but he knew that his father used a few words to introduce the data in his notebook.

"A planet called Krypton... a mysterious planet with gravity millions of times that of Earth... what kind of powerful and mysterious creatures exist on it?"

"The genes of the first mutant in history... can they be used to create artificial mutants?"

"The first artificial mutant... a woman! Soon after her birth, she quickly grew into a young adult and escaped from the research base..."

Tony didn't know what the use of that "Krypton" was. According to the description, it was billions of light years away from the Earth. Even if there were living beings there, they had nothing to do with the humans on Earth.

But the last two sentences.

According to Tony's speculation, it is possible that his father, the genius scientist, cooperated with the American high-level officials to use the ancient mutant genes collected from deep underground to replicate a female mutant who was born with "Omega" level strength!

"Your father's suitcase... I'm sorry, Tony, I know this might be important to you, but..." Nick sighed.

He is in a state of panic right now. He has sent most of the SHIELD agents to Queens to investigate the blackout there. He has no one around him to help.

Tony looked a little anxious: "No, no, no, Fury, you didn't understand me. What I wanted to say is that I might know where the things went, but I need your help to get them back."

Nick pondered, but temporarily chose to nod in agreement.

The situation in New York has temporarily stabilized. With him in charge of SHIELD, and the city government increasing police force and even deploying some military weapons, there won't be any trouble in the short term.

"Then do you have any idea?"

Tony hesitated for a moment, then said, "Do you know... Spider-Man?"

……

On the top floor of the building, in a sealed interrogation room.

Kailus looked displeased because the strange man who suddenly appeared in front of him took away his hamburger and Coke.

Moreover, he was moved to a special interrogation room made of glass and plastic.

It seems that the serious-looking man sitting opposite him is not very polite to him.

"Your name is Kalus, right? Your father was arrested and put in jail for theft not long ago." Coulson put down the information in his hand. It was densely packed with records, covering almost everything from Kalus' birth to his youth.

This is the power of S.H.I.E.L.D., which can investigate a person's background in just a few tens of minutes, and even find out where he went to kindergarten as a child.

Coulson seemed to be smiling, but his tone clearly contained a threat to Kailus.

The meaning is very clear. You have no secrets from us. This is an extremely clever psychological tactic!

However, Kaelus responded to him with an indifferent and annoying expression.

He narrowed his eyes and looked up and down at the two people in front of him.

They all changed their clothes into special materials, probably to prevent themselves from being manipulated by his magnetic force.

However... Kailus just smiled.
Comparing to the man with a stern expression, Kaelus shifted his gaze to the other side.

The woman with wavy wine-red hair and extremely delicate facial features was currently looking down and taking notes with a pen in hand.

Natasha Romanoff, codenamed Black Widow.

She has a sexy and tall figure, which is enough to charm countless men.

However, Kaelus knew that this rose had poisonous thorns.

He knew that Natasha's miserable childhood was spent in that lonely and dark house.

Behind the image of a strong woman lies an emotional and complex inner world.

Natasha seemed to have sensed Kailus's gaze with the sharpness and directness of an agent, and raised her eyes sharply, but Kailus seemed to have anticipated it and had already retracted his gaze.

"I think you should tell us everything you know. You must have heard that if you are captured by SHIELD and don't cooperate honestly, you will not have a good ending." Coulson sneered as if intimidating or tempting.

Kaelus's background of lack of parental discipline is very consistent with the childhood experiences of those evil mutants.

This also made him more determined that the mutant boy in front of him was definitely not a good guy! He had to be taught a lesson!

"..."

Kailus did not answer. As far as he could remember, he had been asked this question no less than a hundred times.

It seems that most people who know about his experience regard him as a problem teenager.

Just like Coulson in front of him, asking some ignorant and arrogant questions.

On the other hand, Coulson became angry when he saw Kaelus's lazy and indifferent attitude.

He saw a look of contempt in Kailus' eyes.

But what right does he have? He is just a prisoner in SHIELD! Not cooperating? Does he have the qualifications?
"Listen, if you tell the truth, maybe in a few days, you will be allowed to walk out of here..." Coulson's tone sank and didn't sound very friendly.

"…What time is it now?"

Suddenly, Kaelus asked a nonsensical question, interrupting Coulson's words.

Coulson was stunned.

However, Natasha, who was next to Coulson, calmly glanced at the wall clock in the outdoor corridor.

"nine thirty."

Kaylus nodded slightly, ignoring Coulson's murderous gaze, and slowly closed his eyes.

A progress bar appeared in his sight.

90%!
