I became a weirdo in Marvel

Chapter 15: Journalists and Parchment

Chapter 15: Journalists and Parchment

The Global Times building.

"Eddie, I need first-hand information?"

"Sorry, I haven't got it yet. You know Stark hates being interviewed, especially by men."

"Stop talking. I don't care about the process, I only care about the result. You know the whole world is paying attention to this matter and how important this news is to us. In a word, can you do it? If not, I will hand it over to someone else."

"I"

"Okay, go out and call Caroline over for me."

"Ok."

A ruffian-looking young man came out of the office dejectedly, walked up to a tall blond beauty, and said, "Caroline, the editor-in-chief wants you to come in."

"Oh my god! Why did the editor-in-chief suddenly call me? Did he want to scold me?"

Eddie smiled bitterly and shook his head, "Probably not. I'm sure it's a good thing."

"That's great, thank you Eddie."

"You're welcome."

Eddie returned to his workstation with a gloomy face. He was a gold medal reporter for the Globe and Mail. Just because she wasn't a pretty woman and couldn't please Tony Stark, he had to give up this big news?
"Damn Tony Stark! Why does he set his preferences so rigidly!"

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He didn't want to see the green tea girl showing off, so he simply picked up his bag and left.

After a while, Eddie was walking in a dim alley. The street lights on both sides were dim and flickered from time to time.

Suddenly a strong wind blew, and Eddie was blinded by the flying dust. Just as he was about to raise his hand to cover his eyes, a piece of parchment suddenly flew over and stuck to his face.

Eddie was startled. He quickly tore off the parchment, threw it to the ground, and stomped on it twice: "Damn it! Even you come to bully me!"

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly found that there seemed to be words written on the parchment. He picked it up and took a look. The words on it surprised him.

[Eddie, do you want to know the inside story of Tony Stark's kidnapping? ]

"Whose prank is this?"

Eddie looked around but didn't see any other suspicious figures. For some reason, he felt a little uneasy. He quickly threw away the parchment and ran back home.

Turn on the light and sit on the sofa.

Before he could breathe a sigh of relief, he suddenly saw a piece of parchment on his table with the same line of words on it.

"My Dharma! Didn't I throw it away? How did it appear here?"

Eddie was terrified and jumped up in fear and hid far away.

After a while, nothing unusual happened, so he calmed down a little, walked back to the table, and spoke to the parchment through the air.

"Hey, who are you? I'm telling you, don't mess around. I'm a devout Catholic. Uh, you asked me if I wanted to know, so of course I did. Hey, give me some reaction?"

He kept on talking for a long time, and the parchment remained motionless on the table.

Eddie laughed to himself: "There's nothing dirty there. It must be someone playing a prank on me."

He walked forward and picked up the parchment. After thinking for a moment, he took out a pen from his inside jacket pocket and wrote under the words on the parchment: "Yes, I want to know."

The ink gradually dried up, and Eddie's eyes widened in disbelief as he saw a long paragraph slowly emerging below the sentence he had written.

Eddie put down the parchment and took a big gulp of the soda. He vaguely felt that he seemed to have obtained something extraordinary, and his eyes gradually brightened.

"I'm going to the Stark Industries press conference tomorrow!"

Time flies and one night passes.

Tony blinked his sore eyes, but a smug smile appeared on his face. In his hand, there was a palm-sized round device, which shone with blue and white light and looked magnificent.

"It's not that difficult to make a miniature arc reactor."

There is a large arc reactor in the Stark Industries headquarters that is many times larger than this one. Before Tony, he had never thought of shrinking it and using it as a driving energy source for a humanoid power suit.

The most important part of the steel armor has been completed, and the subsequent work will be much simpler.

Tony stretched, yawned, and left the lab.

Back in the living room on the first floor, Happy was lying on the sofa, hugging the cushion tightly and snoring loudly.

Tony shook his head and laughed, looking at the other visitor to his home, "Pepper, I can't believe you were able to stay here the entire time without knocking Happy awake."

"Because I'm wearing earplugs." Pepper took off her earplugs and smiled at Tony.

Tony took out two bottles of drinks from the refrigerator and handed one to Pepper: "Are you fully recovered?"

"Well, I'm not hurt. I'll be fine after I go back and get some sleep."

Pepper took the drink and played with it in her hand: "I went to ask about Rhodes' situation. He only suffered some minor skin injuries. He will be fine after a few days of rest."

"That's great news, and worth a toast."

Tony raised the drink in his hand, tilted his head back and took a big sip. The cold liquid flowed down his throat, dispelling much of his sleepiness.

Pepper smiled. "Yeah, yeah. It's great that everyone is okay. Uh, and..."

She paused, the smile on her face faded a lot, and continued: "I watched the video. Although it is obvious that you were forced to act like that, it is better to hold a press conference to avoid being taken advantage of by those with ulterior motives."

".Okay, you can do whatever you want."

In this situation, even though Tony was a playboy, he felt a little embarrassed.

Did he have to explain his dilemma at that time? It seemed unnecessary. He believed that a normal person would choose to protect himself first in such a situation, not to mention the selfish Tony Stark.

Besides, he still saved Pepper in the end, so he didn't owe Pepper anything.

After thinking it through, Tony felt much calmer and even had the mood to joke, "What do you think after reading it? Are you thinking about quitting?"

"Do not."

Pepper shook her head and said, "I wouldn't quit a job with such good benefits. I'm just a little disappointed. Maybe I asked for too much."

"."

The two fell into silence. Just then, Happy woke up. He saw Tony and Pepper, wiped the saliva from the corner of his mouth, and said, "I didn't miss anything, did I?"

"No, you're doing great, Happy. It would be even better if you didn't snore when you slept."

Tony stood up and walked towards the stairs: "I'm going to catch up on some sleep. Let's talk about the press conference after I wake up."

"Tony wait, I have asked the reporters to arrive at the headquarters at ten in the morning."

"Then let them continue to wait. If we give them a red envelope later, they won't have any complaints."

Looking at Tony's disappearing back, Pepper shrugged at Happy: "It's our blessing to have such a generous boss, isn't it?"

"really."

Happy nodded seriously, then asked quietly, "Do I really snore loudly when I sleep?"

"Well, it's a bit big."
