Chapter 2872 The Unforgivable Secret (9)

Chapter 2872 The Unforgivable Secret ([-])
There is a round zodiac sign on the floor of the alchemy classroom, which is the same as the "ancient" bathroom decoration style. People at that time believed that the circle represented a kind of perfection. Although the round washstand takes up a lot of space, the "modern" High-end bathrooms are generally set against the wall, which can save more space in the bathroom.

Pomona moved slowly from Leo to Gemini, Severus from Aquarius to Sagittarius, and then they both stopped.

"I'm not the enemy, Pomona," Severus said deadpan.

"I know." She said softly "but..."

"Are you going to the ball with me?" he said suddenly.

"What dance?" she asked in surprise.

"Slytherin's Inner Ball," he said.

"When do you have this dance?" Pomona asked.

"A girl from this house planned it," Severus said. "Are you coming with me?"

She didn't know how to react for a moment.

He smiled wryly. "What if Sirius Black invited you?"

"He won't," said Pomona emphatically.

"What if he invites you?"

"That's not going to happen," said Pomona wearily. "Can you forget about the ball, please?"

"No, I want to talk." He said in an unpleasant manner.

"Hate!" she said bluntly.

But instead of getting angry, he laughed instead.

She didn't know what was wrong with him, so she said viciously "I hate this topic!"

He shook his head disappointed.

"what happened?"

"If I was as handsome as him, would you still say you hate me?"

"That's not the point of the question!"

"I think so." He said conceitedly, "There are indeed many people who joined the Death Eaters because they were obsessed with the appearance of the Dark Lord, and some even testified for Black that on the day he used a magic spell to blow up Peter Petitlou, They were having a candlelight dinner together."

She wanted to object.

"With no one to protect me, I had to find my own way," Severus said, "and you'd rather hand me the dagger than do justice to me."

"I do not have!"

"That's enough." As she was hopping anxiously, Albus appeared.

She wanted to sue, but he looked indifferent and saluted Dumbledore.

"Headmaster," Severus said.

"What are you doing here today?" Dumbledore asked Severus.

"Professor Sprout found something." Severus glanced at her, then at Dumbledore. "I want to see what it might be first."

"Can I have a look?" Dumbledore asked.

Severus gave the necklace to Dumbledore.

"This necklace belongs to Sen Batar." Dumbledore looked at the necklace and said, "Follow me."

Pomona glared at Severus, then followed Dumbledore, Severus following her.

But instead of heading out of the lab, they came to an ear chamber with a bronze sculpture of a frog.

Dumbledore put his hand on it, and three seconds later he was "swallowed" by the frog.

Her eyes widened, but Severus took her hand and told her to place it on the frog sculpture.

She looked at him, and in the next second she felt that her eyes went black, as if she was "sucked away" by something, and was "spit out" again a second later. At this time, she had arrived at the corner of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom , Dumbledore was waiting for her not far away.

"Come here." Dumbledore reached out to her.

Before Pomona could react, there was an extra person behind her, and he slammed into her body hard, and they staggered two steps before they stood still.

"Aren't you a little too impatient, Severus?" said Dumbledore.

"It's her slow reaction." Severus said disgustedly, and let go of her arm.

She pinched her sore arm and reluctantly followed them to the gargoyle.

"Explosive Fudge." Dumbledore said the password.

This word made her another "character" who was about to explode. Just as she was about to speak, the spiral staircase of the gargoyle had already appeared.

Together they climbed the spiral staircase to the headmaster's office, where Dumbledore summoned the Pensieve.

He rummaged through the shelves full of memories, and found a test tube not long after.

"Come here, you two together," said Dumbledore.

Pomona walked over.

"This memory belongs to Percival Rackham, a member of my family," said Dumbledore. "I thought you noticed that we are not a family name, but the genealogists have confirmed this, and it may be our Part of the 'key' to the puzzle."

Then Dumbledore poured that memory into the Pensieve.

After he backed away, Pomona buried her head in the Pensieve, and with a slight sense of weightlessness, she "landed" at the door of a small cabin. In front of her stood the principal Fitzgerald and an obese Man, he's wearing a cloak and a bonnet with a shiny gold badge on it.

"Come in," said a woman, and the door opened in front of them, and Isidora appeared behind it.

"Just find a seat." She seemed to have been waiting for a long time, and said to the guests.

"Congratulations, Isidora, I heard that you have accepted the position of professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts." Percival said.

"Welcome back to Hogwarts, Professor," said the fat man.

"It will take a little getting used to, Professor Rookwood," said Isidora.

"Tell us about your travels," Percival said.

But Isidora ignored him, looking across the hut.

"We're ready," said Isidora, wand and a glass bottle in hand.

There was a door opening in the darkness, and Isidora looked at the crowd.

"Something, I want to show you." Isidora said seriously.

Then a slightly older middle-aged man came out.

"Father." Isidora said, "These are my colleagues at Hogwarts."

Everyone stood up, and Isidora's father gave them a listless look, then sat down on another stool.

"My father has not spoken since my brother's death," said Isidora, before turning to face the group. "During a recent trip, I succeeded in proving what I always suspected, that we do have The ability to walk through pain."

Then Isidora sat on the chair, pointed her wand at her father's chest, and as a red light appeared at the end of the wand, a mass of black matter was drawn out of her father's chest.

"Stop!" Pomona yelled automatically, and then she remembered that this was a memory, and there was no point in her stopping it.

Isidora took the mass of black substance out of her father's chest intact, it faintly exuded a little white light, and then she put it in a glass bottle as if storing a memory.

"What did you do?" Percival asked.

"I relieved his pain," Isidora said with a smile, as if thinking he had done a good deed.

Then there was a little "flashback" in the memory, and then Isidora's father actually smiled, took his daughter's hand, and said "thank you".

Memory ended here, and Pomona returned to the principal's office.

Severus and Dumbledore seemed to be talking when they saw her look up and stopped talking.

"What do you think?" Dumbledore asked.

"Does the heart have a way of storing memories?" Pomona asked Dumbledore.

Dumbledore glanced at Severus, who also went to the Pensieve and buried his head in it.

"I think so," said Dumbledore, "especially about painful memories."

"She took everything," Pomona said. "The pain and the joy."

Dumbledore was slightly shocked, then raised his wand and extracted a little silvery substance from his temple.

"You mean something like this?" Dumbledore asked.

"More or less," said Pomona, looking at Dumbledore's wand.

Legend has it that the Elder Wand, who is good at duels and black magic, can actually be guarded by calling gods.

"Isidora's father was a Muggle, perhaps a little different from ours," said Dumbledore. "So she didn't take away her father's pain, she made him forget it."

Pomona shook his head.

"Instead of an amnestic, she used a more powerful... amnestics cause brain damage, which is difficult to recover from."

Dumbledore said nothing when Severus looked up.

"Anything to say?" Dumbledore asked Severus.

"We'll see later." Severus said dryly, "What did she find out."

"Amnestics cause brain damage, so trained amnestics are needed. Isidora uses more powerful magic than this one, and..."

"She doesn't know how it works," Severus said coldly. "So this 'genius' broke her father's heart?"

"I think her intention was to take away his father's loss," said Dumbledore.

"Amnestics are like surgery, you need to be careful not to take too much away at once," Pomona said. "Isidora took too much."

In fact, she still has a doubt, Isidora's father really regained the ability to speak, or this memory is forged.

But why would Percival do that?

It may be because this memory has been hundreds of years old, so it has become "deactivated".

"I have a question." After a long silence, Severus asked "Who will be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor next semester?"

"You'll know then," said Dumbledore, "but you'll have to cover for a few days before he comes, Severus."

Severus smiled. "When is he coming?"

He seems to be confident that no one will come to compete with him for this position.

"When he returns from the North Pole," said Dumbledore, smiling.

"What was he doing at the North Pole? Looking for Santa Claus?" Severus said grimly.

"Let's see what's in this." Dumbledore said, holding up the pendant of Sambakar.

Now Pomona recognized it too, and Sembakar did carry it.

Dumbledore spoke a hoarse language, and then the tightly closed pendant opened, and a key slowly rose from a mass of silvery substance, floating in mid-air.

"What did you just say?" Severus asked.

"Open it, don't forget, Sambakar is a Beast Whisperer."

"Is that Parseltongue?" asked Pomona.

"You could learn another language, too, if you're not so sleepy, Professor," Dumbledore said to Pomona.

Then he poured the memory from the pendant into the Pensieve.

"Which of you will come first?" Albus asked.

As soon as he finished speaking, Severus had buried his head in the Pensieve.
