Chapter 1203 Murdoc

Chapter 1203 Murdoc

After school at 2 p.m., Heather took the E subway to nd Avenue in Queens.

After careful consideration, Heather decided to continue renting in Queens instead of moving to Manhattan.

Because the street layout of Queens is more regular and pleasing to the eye than that of Manhattan. The chaotic street layout of Manhattan can drive people with obsessive-compulsive disorder crazy, and it is even worse than Hartford, Connecticut.

Also, the rent in Queens is much lower than in Manhattan. Well, that's the main reason.

Although it was still some time before I turned 18, in theory I could rent a house and live on my own without the protection of my guardian, because the Connecticut Federal District Court had ruled that I had the rights and obligations of an adult.

After meeting up with the real estate agent, he took Heather to a street cafe for two cheap coffees, and then introduced the house information one by one according to the list. Go to each house one by one? That would be too inefficient. Both Heather and the real estate agent's time is precious. They should narrow down the selection range before deciding whether to go to the house to see it.

After much selection, Heather finally chose a house in the St. Regis community in Queens, a three-story 19th-century German-style brick building. Heather rented a single room on the top floor.

There is a shower room and toilet, hot water, electricity and everything else needed. It is close to the M, L and J subway lines, and the surrounding community facilities are also very complete. There is a convenience store on the ground floor of the next building, and there is a small or medium-sized hospital and a green park two blocks away.

The most important thing is that the rent is cheap, and there are no disadvantages except that the room is a little small.

It was already late at night. After the deal was done, the real estate agent left first to handle the next business. Heather walked out of the brick building slowly, looked up at the little world she was about to move into, and wondered in her heart whether she should buy a second-hand bicycle.

The only problem now was how to explain it to Aunt Susan.

While thinking about countermeasures, Heather walked towards the subway station. He crossed two streets in succession and stopped in front of the sidewalk when there were only two traffic lights left to the subway station.

Suddenly, Heather noticed that there was a blind man with a cane next to her, tapping his way forward, and the traffic light on the sidewalk was red.

"Wait a minute, the light is red."

Heather quickly pulled him back. Although there would be a sound prompt when the pedestrian light changed, it was possible that the blind man didn't hear it or his hearing was not very good.

When the blind man was caught, he stopped immediately, turned his head and smiled at Heather, saying, "I'm so lucky to meet such a kind person."

Heather noticed that this blind man was different from other blind people. He was wearing an eye-catching red suit and red leather shoes. His brown hair was casually combed into a slightly messy middle part. He was handsome, with a pair of large sunglasses on his nose and a faint smile on his face.

For a blind person, isn't this style of dress a bit too ostentatious? Heather raised her eyebrows. It was just a small favor to hold the other person, and there was no need to listen to the other person's thanks: "You're welcome. The light will turn green soon. Be careful not to be bumped into..."

Heather suddenly noticed that there were no pedestrians around. Was it so deserted just now? Or was it already the night rest time for the St. Regis House community before 8 o'clock in the evening?
The night sky was overcast and the moonlight and stars were invisible. The neon lights of high-rise buildings could be vaguely seen in the distance, but the surrounding St. Regis House community was extremely quiet and not even the sound of birds or insects could be heard.

On the huge street, there were only the blind man and Heather.

The blind man in red held a cane in his hand and stretched out his right hand to Heather:

"Matt Murdock, I haven't asked yet..."

Heather was stunned at first, then his face turned slightly pale. He thought of the name that JJJJ had reminded him of before.

JJJJ You old fool, it’s not MODOK, it’s Murdock!
As if sensing Heather's uneasiness, the blind man named Matt Murdock smiled even more and kept reaching out to Heather.

There was a strange feeling deep in Heather's mind warning her that if she held that hand, something extremely terrible would happen.

But in this strange situation, I'm afraid I can't refuse it just because I want to, right?
Sweat flowed down Heather's cheeks, her heartbeat became faster and faster, and the atmosphere around her became more solemn.

Just when Heather was tense, a cry suddenly came from afar -

"Stay away from him!"

Matt didn't look back, but smiled and said, "It's really true that I can meet you everywhere, Miss Spider."

A graceful figure stood on the top of a telephone pole in the distance. She was wearing a white and black leotard, light green ballet shoes, and a hood on her head. Even through the mask, one could feel her sharp gaze.

The superhero who protects New York, Ghost Spider!
"King of the Night, I thought you would stay in Hell's Kitchen. Can't the swill bucket there satisfy your appetite?"

A deliberately thick female voice came from behind the Ghost Spider mask.

Matt Murdock retracted his right hand, supported the cane with both hands, and said in a relaxed tone: "You are not an expert at talking, Miss. We are poor people who are not accepted by the world. We can only work hard to gain territory. Who would dislike that their territory is big? Besides..."

He tilted his head slightly towards Heather, his lips raised to reveal his white teeth, and smiled maliciously: "Talent is a good thing, and we in the Hand will not turn away people. Kind brother, will you come with me?"

As he spoke, Matt Murdock's figure suddenly became blurred, and he actually grabbed Heather directly.

Heather was just a weak nerd, so she had no time to react. She just leaned back slightly before Murdoch approached her, and his big hand was about to grab Heather's collar.

But a strand of white spider silk stuck to Heather faster than Matt Murdoch could, and then pulled him aside.

Swoosh! Murdoch missed and swung his cane towards where Heather flew without hesitation. Just by listening to the whistling sound in the air, you can tell how powerful this blow is. If it hits Heather, not to mention her small body, even the steel plate will be dented.

Missed again!

Then several more spider silks flew over from the side, aiming directly at Murdoch's blind stick and himself.

Although he was blind, Murdoch seemed to have dozens of eyes. He dodged the spider silk coming from all directions with extremely swiftness, and then kicked backwards fiercely.

Bang! The flying kick of the Ghost Spider and the kick of the King of the Night collided fiercely, and a dull explosion sounded in the air.

The cane spun with great force, and when Murdock missed, he immediately attacked the ghost spider with the cane. With punches, kicks, and small darts shot from his sleeves from time to time, Matt Murdock was as powerful as an army.

The Ghost Spider is more about defense than attack, and even in a life-and-death fight, its posture is as graceful as if it is dancing ballet.

The two sides fought quickly, and dozens of rounds were exchanged in the blink of an eye.

Once again dodging Murdoch's special blind stick that was smashing down on him, the Ghost Spider flipped over and leapt into the sky, launching a spider silk thread that swung high into the sky, taking along Heather who was stuck to the distant wall through the spider web.

"King of the Night, I'll teach you a lesson next time."

In a flash, the ghost spider took Heather and disappeared into the night.

Matt Murdock lifted the front end of his cane from the broken stones and easily carried it on his shoulder. Although he couldn't see, he turned his face towards the direction where Gwen disappeared with an unfathomable smile on his face.

Dozens of dark shadows appeared silently on the surrounding rooftops and alleys. They were all dressed in ninja costumes and knelt on one knee in silence to show their respect to Matt Murdock, the leader of the Hand.

"Oh, that just delayed us a bit. Let's go meet the Kingpin."

Murdoch waved his blind stick, and the dozens of ninjas immediately disappeared. He also hummed a song and walked towards the distant street while tapping his blind stick.

Ghost Spider... I think I have figured out your true identity.

Once I've dealt with Kingpin, I'll happily dance a cheek-to-cheek dance with you in which only one person can survive.

Until then, I hope you won't bore me too much.
