Chapter 435 [Skipable] Light Blue Lion Spirit
[No inspiration, over two chapters, forgive me! 】

And as the progress of learning the scriptures progresses, the more you get to the later stage, the more you can feel the meticulous thoughts and fears contained in some trivial things encountered on the way of learning the scriptures, and the various problems encountered along the way are increasingly exposed to details.

The 81, 81, [-], and [-] difficulties that have been experienced are all clearly arranged, and many difficulties and obstacles on the road are caused by the interference and obstruction of the spirit beasts or boys arranged by the Heaven Realm or Xitian in order to make up for the [-] difficulties.

Especially in the part where Taishang Laojun's spirit cow descends to earth, it is most obvious.Obviously the green bull monster only likes to eat oranges and doesn't want to eat Tang Sanzang's meat, but he still arrests Tang Sanzang's master and apprentice to the cave and locks him up as if he had completed the task.It can be seen that the gods have made great efforts to learn from Tang Sanzang's master and apprentice.

Therefore, it is not unreasonable to secretly replace the disobedient stone with the obedient six-eared macaque. From this point of view, even if the golden-winged roc in Shituoling is the Peng Demon King who sworn to him 500 years ago, the six-eared macaque would not know him. Therefore, these two conclusions complement each other, which not only explains why Monkey King and Dapeng do not recognize each other, but also explains the big reversal of Monkey King before and after.

[-]. Which of these two opposing views is right and which is wrong? But in fact, most people still don't believe in the second statement. It is believed that there is only one Monkey King from beginning to end, and the one who was destroyed should be the six-eared macaque. Moreover, in Wu Chengen's original work, there is no mention of abandoning the true and leaving the false, it only shows that the real Monkey King has completed a difficult situation and was finally able to return to his master.

Moreover, the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, who was in his heyday when he was making trouble in the Heavenly Palace, was still unable to compete with the Tathagata Buddha, and the current Tathagata Buddha has no reason, let alone use this method to subdue the weakened Monkey King. Therefore, in fact, "macaque for stone monkey" is just the imagination of the audience.

In fact, the change in Sun Wukong's behavior or combat power is largely due to the fact that he has gained some experience after going through some hardships and has become more mature, which can be regarded as a certain degree of growth and transformation.

As the journey to the Western Paradise approached step by step, all the things experienced along the way gave Monkey King a more thorough and clear mind.He learned kindness, learned tolerance, learned to admit mistakes, and knew how to bow his head at the right time.

In fact, not only Monkey King, Tang Sanzang and his disciples all grew up more or less. They depended on each other and supported each other. It can be seen from this that the possibility of "this roc is not that roc" is relatively high.

[-]. Summary. In fact, regardless of whether Sun Wukong and the Dapeng who wants to eat his master are old acquaintances or not, as long as the golden-winged Dapeng marries the Peacock Princess and hurts Tang Sanzang in order to achieve immortality, Monkey King will not show mercy to him.

The same is true for Dapeng. For his own benefit, he will also hurt Monkey King and his party.Just like the Bull Demon King who had a very good relationship with Monkey King back then, he would still turn his face for his son and old friends.

As Sun Wukong said, during the time he was trapped in Wuzhishan, no friends came to visit him. The brothers who haven't seen each other for 500 years are indeed not as good as before. What's more, this roc is not that roc!

Besides!

If you are familiar with "Journey to the West", you will definitely find such a phenomenon: Among the [-] or [-] monsters you met on the way to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures, monk Tang and his disciples encountered Manjushri's mount twice, that is, the blue lion spirit. .

The first time was from Chapter 36 to Chapter 39 of Journey to the West.At that time, in order to avenge Manjushri Bodhisattva, Qingshi became a Taoist priest in the lower realm, and got the king of Wuji Kingdom to soak in the well for three years, and he turned into a fake king of Wuji Kingdom.

The second time was from Chapter 74 to Chapter 77 of Journey to the West.At that time, Qingshi, Baixiang, and Dapeng became three brothers and wanted to deal with Monkey King.Later Tang Seng was caught, and Monkey King thought he was eaten by Dapeng, so he asked Tathagata to settle the score.Tathagata sent people to ask Manjusri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva to take over the white elephant and blue lion, and he also took over the big roc.

It was quite normal for the Qingshi Jing to descend to the realm for the first time, after all, many monsters descended from Buddhism or heaven, such as Kuimu Wolf, Jade Rabbit Spirit, Golden Retriever, Huangfeng Monster and so on.However, the only monsters in the two lower realms are the green lion spirit, which is very strange.

In addition to this, there is something even stranger.

For example, on Shituo Ridge, the Green Lion Spirit doesn't know Sun Wukong at all.You know, he fought against Wukong the first time he went down to the realm, and he was defeated by Monkey King. The second meeting, how could he not know Sun Wukong?
In addition, the image of Qingshijing also changed. For the first time, he had no weapon, but temporarily drew a knife from the waist of General Zhendian, fought with Monkey King, and was defeated in a few rounds. The second time, he actually fought Monkey King with a knife with both hands. After [-] rounds, there was no winner or loser, and he even swallowed Monkey King with his mouth open.

What the hell is going on here? There are many versions of Journey to the West, but none of them have addressed this issue.

Some people say that the front and rear blue lions are the same. For example, Huang Zhouxing in the Qing Dynasty, he said in "The Book of Journey to the West".

The green lion of Manjusri is the Quanzhen of the Wuji Kingdom in the past... However, when I was in the Wuji Kingdom, I didn't hear that it had a hand to cut people and a mouth to swallow people, but now it suddenly growls and pouts, and you can't approach it. How can it be the same? After three days, the cheapest treats each other with admiration?Once the protagonist of the death arrives, the truth is still unavoidable. It is really the so-called "again is not worth half a penny"!
In Huang Zhouxing's view, the two green lions are one and the same, and the reason why the later green lions were able to have great abilities is because of "three days away from each other, and admiration".

It is also said that there are two blue lion spirits, and this one is different from the previous one, so the ability and image are different. But judging from the original Journey to the West, Manjusri Bodhisattva never said this, and neither did Monkey King. Moreover, no fairy has two mounts, and they are both of the same type of animal.

I personally think that what Hou Hui said "the savior of the black chicken country is a late riser plot" is quite reasonable.

Hou Hui is mainly engaged in the teaching and research of Ming and Qing literature, focusing on the study of vernacular novels.Although his words are amazing in some respects—for example, he thinks that the stories in Chinese textbooks such as Lu Tixia’s fist-fighting town in Guanxi, Wu Song, and Lin Chong are very violent and bloody and should be deleted, but he is quite good at the study of classical novels. attainments.

For example, in his "New Evidence of the Origin and Development of the Water Margin", he believed that the story of Lin Chong belonged to a later increase, which is consistent with Nie Gannu's conclusion. In addition, he also has research on Journey to the West and Dream of Red Mansions.

Later people will think that the story of the Wuji Kingdom was added later, and it is suspected of making up the numbers, and it was not written by Wu Chengen.Because of being a late riser, the Blue Lion Demon appeared twice, and the image was quite different.

Why do you say that? There are mainly the following reasons.

For one, the story is uncharacteristically different.

There are a total of 41 stories on the journey to the West to learn Buddhist scriptures. Basically, the Tang monk was threatened, such as being caught by a monster and eating meat, or being captured by a female goblin and forced to marry him.

Even if there are monsters who are not interested in Tang Seng's meat, Tang Seng can't let it go.For example, Kui Mulang is not interested in Tang Seng, but because Baihua is ashamed, and later Kui Mulang turned Tang Seng into a tiger spirit, so when Bajie Drifting can't beat Kui Mulang, Xiao Bailong will ask Bajie to invite Monkey King Come.

However, the story of the Wuji Kingdom is not the case. The Green Lion Spirit is purely to avenge Manjusri Bodhisattva. However, Tang Seng urged Wukong to save the king and avenge the king, which seemed a bit nosy.

Moreover, this story deviates from the main purpose of learning scriptures, and has nothing to do with learning scriptures, and it is not a disaster for Tang Seng.

Second, the image of the green lion has changed drastically.

Qingshi not only descended to the realm twice, but also changed his image drastically.

For the first time, his martial arts skills were low, and he was defeated by Wukong with only a few rounds, without even a weapon. The second time, not only did he have the weapon at hand, but also his martial arts improved a lot. He was able to fight Wukong for dozens of rounds regardless of the outcome.

Dapeng covets Tang Monk's meat, but fears Sun Wukong, so he makes obeisance to the green lion and white elephant. If you look at it this way, it is obvious that Qingshi Jing can be the boss of the three demons in Shituoling.Ability and background may be only one aspect, otherwise Dapeng is unlikely to obey him.

Third, the language style is different.

In the story of Wuji Kingdom, the author prefers the parallel style of writing. In fact, in other stories, the author also likes to use parallel prose, but at least in dialogue and narration, it is quite normal and not so "dropping the book bag".However, the story of Wuji Kingdom not only uses parallel prose for narrative, but also uses parallel prose for dialogue.

The crown prince kowtowed and said, "Mother, let me ask you: who ascended the throne and ascended the dragon? Who is called lonely and widowed?" Sanzang said: "That monster has great powers and has become like you; the civil and military courts of the Manchu Dynasty, each with words and hearts Shun; the concubines of the three palaces agree with each other." The traveler said: "...he sleeps with the concubines of the three palaces, and has fun with the two classes of civil and military. My grandson has the ability to catch him, which is not good. Convict."

Look, when the prince asked who his father was, he had to speak parallel prose. Tang Seng also used parallel prose when speaking, and even the fast-talking Monkey King also used parallel prose when speaking. This is very different from the story before and after.

Hou Hui also analyzed it from the perspective of poetry. In the whole book (except for the three chapters of Wuji Kingdom), Wu Chengen wrote 283 seven-character poems, and only 11 poems used miscellaneous words. However, among the 15 seven-character poems in Wuji Kingdom, there are 7 miscellaneous words. The proportions of the two are completely different.

There are 81 difficulties in learning scriptures, but there are only more than 40 stories and monsters, so when encountering some big monsters, the author will write several chapters, and then count them as three difficulties or four difficulties. However, in Wuji Kingdom, the story of three chapters is only counted as one difficulty in the book of 81 difficulties.

In addition, Hou Hui also researched the "Story of Wuji Kingdom" from the story of Tang Monk, which belongs to the later period.Because it has nothing to do with Qingshi, and due to space limitations, I won’t talk about it, and those who are interested can go and have a look.

All in all, the story is rather odd and out of place with the whole.
