Chapter 6: Wholeness and fidelity

Li Chengzhen could feel that these brothers cared for him sincerely.

But this kindness is really unacceptable to him. He Li Chengzhen is first of all a stranger, a person who seeks the Tao. To cultivate the Tao, you must first cultivate your heart. What he most recognizes is the thought of Yang Zhu, the sage of the Warring States Period.

If you lose a tiny bit to benefit the world, you will not give it; if you know the world and serve you, you will not take it.Everyone does not lose a cent, everyone is not good for the world, and the world will be governed. —— "Lie Zi Yang Zhu"

The specific meaning can be understood literally. Generally speaking, everyone should be themselves, neither doing things that are beneficial to themselves but detrimental to the world, nor doing things that are beneficial to the world but detrimental to themselves, then the world will naturally get better.

This is also the patriarch's admonition believed by Quanxing's group of monsters, but they have already gone on crooked ways, and they kept saying that Quanxing is true, and that they don't accumulate things, and they turned into a group of indulgent lunatics.

It is true and hypocritical to only remember not to pluck a hair, but to keep silent and not to take a hair.

In fact, what the sage Yang Zhu advocated is to value oneself, but self-esteem is not self-interest, but "the most precious thing in one's body is life", which means that life is short, so we must value ourselves, value ourselves, and don't let It gets damaged because there is no way to start over.

So what should this heavy self and precious life do?Then we need to "preserve the integrity of the whole nature". What is the whole nature, that is, the nature of conforming to nature. Now that you have been born, you should live well. Materials can nourish yourself, so just use it, don't treat yourself badly , there is no need to worry too much.

But the most important point is not to be insatiable, but to know how to be restrained, everything is enough, not to pursue material things excessively, and at the same time not to do things that harm others for the sake of material things.

Otherwise, you will be influenced by foreign objects, and your desire will expand. Then how can you achieve the state of "not being overwhelmed by objects"?
So what is fidelity? As the name suggests, it is to maintain the authenticity endowed by nature at the beginning of life.

"Liezi·Yang Zhu" has a saying, the people of ancient times knew that life came temporarily and death passed away temporarily, so they let their hearts move and did not violate what nature wanted, and the entertainment of the body was not where they went, so they were not persuaded by names. Follow one's nature, do not go against the preferences of all things, the name after death is not taken, so it is not subject to punishment, the order of fame, the number of years of life, is not to be measured.

It means that people in ancient times knew that life comes temporarily, and death goes away temporarily, so they should act according to their heart, do not violate natural preferences, do not deliberately avoid their own happiness, so that they will not be tempted by fame, and travel freely according to their nature. But it does not violate the likes and dislikes of all things, so it will not be punished by the criminal law.

The size of the so-called reputation and the length of life are not what they consider.

From this point of view, although Yang Zhu's whole nature preservation encourages people to act in accordance with their nature and to control their own destiny, it also warns people that while not violating the wishes of nature, they should not violate the wishes of all things.

Therefore, the true integrity of the whole sex is by no means indulgence without a bottom line, nor is it teaching people to be selfish. On the contrary, the Yang Zhu School needs to know restraint and understand the principle of contentment and happiness.

Although Yang Zhu encourages people to indulge their nature, it essentially puts a lock on it. It is actually very simple for people to indulge themselves, but it is extremely difficult to regain self-control after indulgence. up.

But the current Quan Xing is obviously completely contrary to the words of Patriarch Yang Zhu. They are nothing more than rationalizing their behaviors of doing evil, venting, and indulging in the guise of releasing their nature.

Over time, they have become slaves to desire, how can they gain the Tao?
That's why Li Chengzhen rejected the good intentions of all the brothers, because wealth that exceeds his needs is a burden to him, not only does not benefit his practice at all, but is a drag on the contrary.

So I can only take it by heart.

………………

Several people looked at each other and spread their hands. I don't know how many times they persuaded Li Chengzhen, but they only knew that this kid was stubborn and ruthless, and he didn't agree with anything.

"Come on, come on, don't talk about these useless things," Jin Jiyin saw that the atmosphere was a little stiff, and naturally changed the subject, "Old Wang, what happened to your family? Two days ago, your father and I texted each other Complaining for a long time, looking at those who blow their beards and stare, but don't tell me, it makes my heart itch."

"Ham, it's not a big deal." Wang Yi shook his head and smacked his lips. "It's my third brother, Xiao Ye. I also told you that after he went to Wudang once when he was a child, he was always talking about it when he came back. He likes to study that. A pile of scriptures is not a big deal at first, but two days ago he suddenly made a fuss about wanting to become a monk, which made my dad so angry that I persuaded him next to him, almost hitting me together."

"Hey, Brother Ni has a personality," Liao Yunzhang said while stuffing a cigarette into his mouth, "What happened next?"

"What else can I do? My brother and my father can't argue with each other. Later, my father let me go to Tsinghua University. , "Wang Yi shrugged, "Anyway, these two days, my younger brother will stay in his room to study as soon as he gets home, and sometimes he won't see anyone when he eats."

"Hey, Tsinghua, your father is really ruthless," Su Tongxuan marveled, "It's not difficult to get into that place, but it's different if you want to get in."

"Ham, let's not talk about this, anyway, my father has his back, so he doesn't have to worry about his way out," Wang Yi waved his hand, "Come here, drink and drink, don't raise fish!"

Everyone started pushing glasses and changing glasses again.

………………

Li Chengzhen was sent back to the Liyuan reeking of alcohol, and he wobbled onto the bed, trying to put on a five-hearted posture for cultivation, but he wobbled and couldn't sit still.

There was no other way but to use real qi to force out part of the alcohol in the blood, and then I felt better.

Damn, this group of people really want to drink him to death, which good people drink vodka and whiskey!

Thinking about it again, those dog thieves just wanted to drag him to an underground club to have some fun, and ordered him to go out with them at least once a month.

Immediately, life feels hopeless.

Li Chengzhen took a look at the sky outside, the spring night is bitter and the day is high... Hehe, it's time to practice.

Li Chengzhen took a deep breath and forced himself to calm down from all kinds of external desires. Although these worldly desires are obstacles for practitioners, from another perspective, they are tempering.

Just like whether a stone is a stumbling block or a stepping stone, it is up to the person to decide. If he can overcome these circumstances, it will be of great benefit to his practice.

The ultimate pursuit of those who seek the Tao in this world is to become a fairy, which represents detachment from the world, and can also be understood as birth.

How can you be born if you don't join the WTO?
It's time to practice...
