Arcane Journey

Chapter 567: Collapse of the Black Dragon

The ancient black dragon that was forcibly dragged into the illusion slowly woke up in the endless darkness. His entire dragon body was in a trance, like a drunkard, constantly swaying his huge body.

As his consciousness gradually returned, he noticed something strange about his surroundings.

The surroundings were steaming hot, just like being in a rotten swamp next to a volcano, but the warmth here was obviously hotter... even to the point of scalding.

The ancient black dragon felt as if it was in boiling water and was about to be cooked.

After realizing this, he felt a series of disgusting tongues licking his body.

These tongues were slippery and disgusting, and every touch made the ancient black dragon feel nauseous.

But he endured the unbearable feeling and opened his eyes with great difficulty.

What came into view were the faces of the dog-headed men drooling with greed.

The eyes of these little bastards were full of greed and desire, with saliva flowing down the corners of their mouths and dripping onto the ground. It looked like they were about to cry from greed.

The ancient black dragon's face suddenly changed, as if a dark cloud was pressing down on his head. In an instant, he suddenly realized that he had turned into a dragon egg. This absurd change made him unbelievable.

What made him even more indignant was that those dog-headed men, whom he had disdained in the past but tried to worship at his feet, had now become ridiculous beings that dominated his destiny.

These damn kobolds actually threw themselves into the boiling pot and lived with goblins, beasts, mushrooms and weeds. It was an extreme irony and mockery of power.

The ancient black dragon was so furious that it almost broke free from its restraints, spewing out dragon breath that was enough to destroy everything, annihilating those kobolds and their ignorance together.

Unfortunately, the cruelty of reality made him fall into the abyss of despair. As a dragon egg that had not yet hatched, he could do nothing but watch the ugly faces of those ogre-headed men drooling with excitement.

He could only watch his fate being cooked away by time bit by bit until he lost the last bit of life. This feeling of powerlessness was more tormenting than any pain.

Just like that, as time passed, the ancient black dragon only felt a black screen before his eyes. In the last moments of his consciousness, he vaguely felt that one of the strongest dog-headed men was slowly approaching him.

The kobold opened his mouth wide enough to swallow a melon, revealing his sharp fangs, and bit down on his own eggshell with a dull and powerful sound.

At that moment, the ancient black dragon seemed to have heard the call of fate and felt an unprecedented threat.

However, immediately afterwards, his consciousness fell into endless darkness and he knew nothing.

…………

The same scene, like an endless cycle, is played out again and again in this illusory world. Brian, a bystander, is like a brilliant director, weaving a series of different but equally cruel dreams for the ancient black dragon trapped in the abyss of illusion with his endless creativity and cold determination.

In these experiences, the fate of the ancient black dragon is vividly portrayed. It is a chilling scene in which he transforms into a fragile dragon egg, but unfortunately falls into the hands of kobolds, becomes the prey of their smoky pot, and is finally ruthlessly cooked and devoured.

What destroyed the Black Dragon's worldview even more was that he was imprisoned and humiliated by a group of female goblins.

This group of female goblins, with a primitive and wild power, imprisoned him in a dark and damp corner of the dungeon.

There, coldness and despair intertwined into an invisible web, trying to swallow up all his hope and light.

They, these goblins, possessed inexhaustible energy and an almost cruel enthusiasm. Day and night, the goblins gathered around the black dragon, forcing him to perform a ritual they called "reclamation" in an almost crazy way.

This ritual is actually the ultimate development and utilization of the black dragon's body, just like digging out an unpolished jade, attempting to tap his power and potential to the limit.

Every touch was like a sharp blade, ruthlessly cutting his dignity and will.

The pain was not only physical torture, but also torture to the soul.

In that dark corner, Black Dragon felt unprecedented humiliation and despair.

In short, in Brian's ingenious illusion weaving, every scene change is a ruthless test of the black dragon's heart and will.

This legendary psychic power, although without causing any actual damage, can use the illusory realm as a blade to cut through the enemy's inner defenses, causing them to gradually lose themselves in the boundless maze of illusions, gradually exhausting their spirit until they reach the brink of madness.

What's worse, this power is enough to instantly destroy the will of a strong man, turning him into a soulless body, wandering the world and becoming a witness to yet another tragedy caused by this power.

Brian's fantasy world is both a paradise in dreams and a purgatory for the soul.

Here, reality and illusion are intertwined, reason and madness collide, and every breath may be the final test of the Black Dragon's will.

The black dragon struggles to survive in this realm constructed by pure thoughts, and every step forward is accompanied by severe pain in the heart and the collapse of will.

This is a war without the smoke of gunpowder, but it is more cruel and ruthless than any physical confrontation.

Of course, as the saying goes, everything has its limits. This legendary spell can cause a person's consciousness to collapse, but it also has a small chance of awakening the other person's consciousness deep inside, thereby using this purgatory woven by illusions to embark on a road of awakening full of thorns and challenges.

The ancient black dragon is obviously not such a challenger.

Because Brian had keenly noticed that as the experiences in the illusion became more and more numerous, the other party's spirit was like a candle in the wind, shaking.

This illusory dream is eroding its mind step by step. If it continues like this, it is not impossible that a slight ripple will completely destroy its consciousness, turning it into an unconscious walking corpse.

Unfortunately, to Brian's disappointment, it was too late.

After all, the legendary psychic powers are not an inexhaustible source.

Moreover, the phantom enemy he faced was actually an Ancient Black Dragon, a powerful being whose strength was comparable to that of a high-level Legend.

Even though Brian possessed two legendary professions, he could hardly bear such a huge consumption.

His mental strength was also rapidly depleting during the battle with the ancient black dragon.

If this continues, the ancient black dragon will fall down before his consciousness collapses.

Without wasting any more time, Brian moved his mind slightly, raised his hand and waved it, instantly dispelling the fog surrounding the ancient black dragon.

Then, a plain longbow quietly appeared in Brian's hand. (End of this chapter)
